I got my food delivered to my hotel. It was excellent. We ordered chicken salad and half and half chicken bowl. It was so yummy. Veggies are fresh. Chicken is tasty. It was delivered before time. And hot sauce is amazing!! Now I want to go in person and check out the resturant. Thank you!!

I ordered via grubhub so can't comment on service or atmosphere. But the food was 10/10. I got the hummus, muhammra, falafel. Hummus and Muhammra came with Bite sized pitas. I also got their hot sauce and it was fire!! Loved everything, great for vegetarians too!!

Sumac is a hidden gem I discovered this Saturday afternoon and it did not disappoint! I ordered the red lentil salad and chicken rice bowl. Service was speedy as we received our order within 10 minutes. Both dishes were bursting with flavor, but those red lentil balls stole the show. So fresh and delicious! If you're looking for a quick, tasty meal that doesn't skimp on quality, Sumac is the spot. I'll definitely be back for more!

Can't speak to the experience at the location itself as I ordered delivery, but I was left feeling very impressed.Albeit a little pricey to have this delivered to me, it was enough food to feed me for 2 meals and was one of the best lunches I've had at work in a while. I got the half½ chicken bowl that came with choice of side (I got roasted veggies), and choice of sauce, along with pickled beets and red cabbage. I got the sumac lebneh hot sauce on the side, but truthfully, I was enjoying the food so much on its own that I forgot to use it until later in the meal. This bowl was HUGE, I should have read the website prior as it was 48oz of food and lasted me through lunch and dinner that day. Everything tasted fresh and I felt good eating it. I will absolutely order from here again!

Okay this place is DIVINE!!!! I loved the falafel. So tasty and moist. The hummus was so good as well as the salad and the pickled cabbage. The pink yogurt sauce was wildly good too that came with the pita. We ordered takeout which was perfect for a working day lunch. Will definitely be coming back here and have already been raving about to everyone I know.

Based on Yelp reviews, I ordered the Chicken Bowl and was really impressed and happy with the quantity and quality of my meal. The chicken was thigh meat, seasoned well and plentiful, not to mention well-dressed (no gristle anywhere!!) Don't sleep on the spicy sauce -- its peppery hot and adds excitement to the whole situation.The Tzatziki is also really good and comes in a 12oz portion that will go far beyond the one pita with which it is served.I'll be back for Sumac many times more!

This was a bit of a whirlwind experience with us not being familiar with the ins & outs of SF, so I'll get right into it..Ambiance - This is probably the biggest shock for us. While doing research on finding dinner options, we came across Sumac and loved the photos of the food we saw along with the menu options. Our plan was to go there for a nice meal and then go to a comedy show afterwards. Little did we know, this is not a restaurant you can dine in. It's essentially a working kitchen where you pick up food to eat elsewhere. Had we known this, we probably wouldn't have selected this place as it was raining pretty heavily on the evening we decided to check it out.Food - The food here was fantastic. I can see why this place receives glowing reviews. I had a meatball rice bowl while my wife had a chicken rice bowl. Both came with hot sauce and a couple of colorful sauces (one pink and one green) and both sauces were delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, but again not knowing that you couldn't eat there we didn't get to eat it until we got back to our hotel which was a 15-minute ride so it wasn't as fresh as we were expecting.Service - There's not really much to say about service since it's basically a working kitchen, but the guy who took our order was very nice so no problems here. Overall, I think this is a wonderful place especially if you live nearby. They had a couple of other restaurants operating out of that same kitchen as well, so look them up and see what tasty options they have available. I think the only improvement may be to let outsiders of SF know that you cannot dine here. Maybe they do and we missed it, but I think getting that message out may help others avoid the same fate as ours. We have no regrets over the food, we were just hoping for a slightly different experience but chose to make the best of it. I probably would not dine here again unless I was staying somewhere very close by.

Love the simple menu at this place - there are only a few items but they all sounds so good. It's more of a ghost kitchen (no seating), so expect to take it to-go. I tried the chicken bowl, red lentil wrap, and banana cream pudding. My favorite was the chicken bowl. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and I loved the roasted veggies that came with it - felt super light and healthy. I also loved the red lentil wrap - the red lentils had a sweet legume flavor which I liked. I'd recommend getting the bowl over the wrap because it has more veggies and food! But both are good. The banana cream pudding was sweet but still light - a perfect end to the meal.

It was takeout, and arguably the best I've had in a very long time. Literally to the point where my friend asked me if I wanted to try some of her food and I said no because I don't want the flavors of her food to interact with mine because I was enjoying my food so much. Best Mediterranean food I've had since living in the Bay Area by far!
