Soul Delight

We used Soulful Delight to cater our 25-person work event and it was amazing!Zahra is very professional, on time and offers a variety of items. We ordered:-brown sugar glazed ham-fried catfish-baked chicken -Mac n cheese-Candied yams-Cornbread-cornbread dressing -collard greens-string beans/potato-corn & okra w/ shrimp and turkey sausage-black eye peas w/ rice -peach cobbler -sweet potato pies Everything was delicious, arrived HOT and ready to serve. Zahra was a pleasure to work with and offered a ton of food for a great price. We were able to take home plenty of food to our friends and family. Going forward we will be using Soulful Delight again in the near future!

Above and beyond. My family and I really enjoyed the thanksgiving meal! The food was simply amazing! Hoping to order at Christmas as well. Cannot wait to try that banana pudding! Thank you for helping us have happy holidays. OH -- they are still talking about that pumpkin pie! A big hit!

Y'all, I found my go-to caterer. Zahra is such a delight to work with! She replied promptly and is very professional. Pricing is reasonable and she dropped off our food on time.Ordered the baked chicken, mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, and corn bread for a Friendsgiving. Her food was a HIT. My friends couldn't stop talking about it.You already know I'm going to be ordering from her in the future (already planning on it for Friendsmas).

Had sides catered for a birthday party and the food was a hit! Highlights were the greens, black-eyed peas and mac n cheese, though all was quite tasty. Zahra was great to communicate with in getting my order placed. Food was well packaged and hot upon delivery. Very pleased!

For a city with so many absolutely amazing restaurants it has long surprised me that good BBQ and Soul Food is so hard to find. For too brief a moment there was Marcel's kitchen. But for whatever reason he closed up shop. But now, where Marcel's once was Soul Delight is getting ready for it's November 1, 2010 Grand Opening. Zahra, the owner is not new to the business, she has been catering successfully for years, and I have been lucky on numerous occasions to enjoy her food, REALLY ENJOY IT! I am so excited to see what items will be on her menu, everything I've tried has always been amazing. Her BBQ is literally legendary, and with it I always get the potato salad- which is the best I've ever had! My BF loves all the fried Soul Food Options. We both love the classic southern desserts!Now all of you who follow my reviews know my feelings about El Rincon, the night club that shares it's address with Soul Delight. So let that explain just how good I believe Zahra and Soul Delight to be if I am giving a 5 star rating to anything having to do with El Rincon. On Nov 1 when Soul Delight celebrates it's Grand Opening I will remove my negative Yelp because I actually care if it affects Zahra's new location. And I'll happily enjoy some BBQ and write an update about how fabulous I know it will be!Good Luck Zahra and Soul Delight!

As a somewhat active yelper, and someone who use to work in a soul food restaurant, I was very surprised at the negative comment listed below - clearly that is a personal attack. There are very few Soul Food restaurants in SF and I use to work at Art's Coffee shop on Church Street. Soul Delight definitely represents soul food and the fried chicken is so flavorful, juicy and tender, my fiance almost ate the bones!! The collard greens, yams, mac and cheese and cornbread were DELICIOUS!! If you are looking for soul food, you have come to the right place. Also, it's very important that we support our local small businesses!ohhh and PEACH COBBLER, Smothered pork chops.... YUMMY!!!!!!

Thank you so much Zahra for helping to make my dinner party a complete and utter success. It was a small group (about 6) and every single attendee raved about the cuisine----including my 85 year old southern mama.Can't wait for my next experience!

Zahara, Zahara, Zahara... what can I say?I have used the services of Soul Delight twice now and have only grown more and more impressed with the level of cooking, professionalism, and amazing value of their services.Experience 1Zahara created an eclectic tapas style menu for my company holiday party. The food was VERY well received by all of the 70 attendees and many commented on how amazing the table setup looked. Experience 2Again connected with Zahara for a southern style dinner menu for a friends birthday party. She created amazing fried chicken, greens, mac and cheese, and red velvet cakes for the party. She turned out this party with 24 hours notice and everyone was amazed by the quality and quantity of food. The birthday boy said this was the best gift he was given.Soul Delight is my caterer of choice and I definitely encourage anyone to reach out and hire this amazing company for your next catering job, you really cant go wrong with Zahara's services.

First time trying this spot really good down to earth people "Zahra" she really gives off a down to earth vibe which you gotta love. The spot is located in the Visitacion area on Leland. Great combo meals and specials really good spot skip over KFC and mc ds for this one and come get a meal that I'll stick to ribs. Located @167 Leland st. 94134
