HONESTLY DELICIOUS NORTHERN CHINESE MENU WITH UNIQUE DISHES I would definitely come back to try all their unique dishes. Northern Chinese food is usually dumplings, carbohydrates, meats, fried and boiled fish, and lots of spicy options. My favorite was the carnival pot, enough food for 2-3 people. Second favorite was the fried milk buns with condensed milk. They were served piping hot and crispy on outside with soft and warm inside. Dipped in the condensed sweet milk and wow, you're in heaven. We got two of those. The wontons in the wontons soup are huge and the soup that goes with it is soooo delicious. Very different than Hong Kong and Guangdong wonton soup because they use dried shrimp and seaweed in the soup base. The lamb skewers were delicious! Crispy salty and not too spicy. Just a little kick. Xiaolong bao were really good. Get them! The skin was a little thicker than I liked but were soft and not chewy. The meat was generous and so was the soup. I saw canned beer and beer on tap. SELF-ORDER ON MOBILE APP Easy to do on your phone. Keep in mind the hard copy menu is not the same as the mobile menu. They said the mobile menu is more accurate. Two servers were working hard to clean and answer questions. Food came out really fast. MODERN AND CLEAN DECORMostly bench seating. Plenty of seating. Two clean bathrooms. Two televisions on wall. One was sports and the other was cartoons. No audio. Music was soft classics. Relaxing atmosphere. PARENT NOTES Both bathrooms have baby changing table. Clean bathrooms with automatic faucet. Low sink that young children can reach on their own.

My experience at Simmer Huang was "OK". It wasn't anything special and it was a bit disenchanting, and that was really because I think the food served was good, but the number of options that were falsely deemed to be "sold out" (which wasn't true and a system error), made me wonder if it could have been better. We ordered the Dan Dan Mien, and that was different. It was sour and salty at the same time and while I didn't enjoy the first two bites, it eventually grew on me and I enjoyed it. I think it's a significant use vinegar. It works! The chicken wing dry pot was a bit disappointing. It was good but seemed rather basic. The flavors were there, but it was really only a handful of ingredients that featured too much of potatoes. Add in celery, broccoli, chicken wings, a tiny (and not enough) splash of wood war mushrooms and a dash of peanuts makes this dish rather underwhelming. Again, flavor is good, but basic and one dimensional. The beef skewers were good. As expected. Service was not really expected to be attentive or great, but it is what you'd usually expect from these establishments. Nice server, but very inattentive. I didn't once notice the cats on the wall. It has a weird vibe of bar and traditional sit down Chinese restaurant. It worked and I can see this place busy. Plenty of parking.

I love that they're open late and am obsessed with their cute cat designs. This is a nice place for groups to share a pot and chat. Our food came out pretty fast even though there was only one server. The lamb skewers were a solid 4/5. The seasoning was there, just wish they were a bit hotter (temperature wise) so it'd feel like they're fresh off the grill. The non-spicy beef noodle soup was pretty bland 3/5. The soup definitely needed more seasoning. However, for the price (~$16) they do give you lots of noodles. Might come back with more people to try their pots!

First time trying this restaurant. I didn't even know this restaurant existed in Serramonte Mall plaza. It's hidden in the corner next to Ross. The fish was the best part of our meal. The food took awhile to come out, but the servers were really nice. The ambiance inside is very basic. The chairs aren't really set up well enough to accommodate large groups. Parking was really good since we came after 8pm. I do like how this restaurant open late.

If you like spicy (that numbing feeling!) this is the way to go! I forgot exactly what we ordered since it's been about a month. Their portions are perfect for sharing. The four of us shared two items. The one dish that was most memorable was the chicken wing with potatoes. When I say memorable, I mean I find myself trying to recreate it at home and can't wait to visit again the next time I'm in town!! Place was clean and service was average (friendly but not forthcoming-don't expect them to refill your water w/o having to ask)

Have had this place bookmarked for a while because it's not too far from where we live, and we finally had a chance to go this past Saturday for dinner! I love that it's open late & there's a large parking lot (which is shared with a bunch of other stores, so it can still get packed). We were craving something sichuan spicy, and this hit the spot. Between my partner & I, we ordered 2 Kirin's, 1 order of lamb skewers, 1 order of chicken heart skewers, 1 Hunan-style noodles and 1 beef rib dry pot. Skewers were tasty, albeit a bit small, but we loved the chili powder and put all the extra into our noodles. The dry pot was also really good, but definitely super oily and got really salty midway through. We brought some leftovers home, and TBH it tasted even better once I added a few more veggies (to dilute the saltiness). Overall food was good, service was straightforward since most of it is via your phone, but it was definitely not cheap. We'll be back when we want a late night bite, but not too often since we were at ~$108pp.

I've been here a few times and have tried both the meat pot and the veggie pot. Honestly, I prefer the meat pot because it has more flavor. I also ordered the beef and lamb skewers, and I found the beef to be better than the lamb. The scallion pancakes were perfect for dipping into the pot's sauce. This restaurant is ideal for larger groups since the portions are meant for sharing. My friend and I managed to finish most of it, but we still had leftovers to take home. The servers were very friendly and took the time to explain how to order and what add-ons we could include in the pot if we wanted more.

Good seating and quick service, but questionable pricing. Food was good, especially their skewers, but it did not feel like the quality or quantity you would expect for the prices. It might be better to come for their entrees, but that's surprising given the dry pot being their signature. The cheapest dry pot was about $40, and contains way more vegetables than expected with minimal meat. Might come again to try other stuff, but definitely leans expensive.

I came here after a long day at dolores park. I hadn't eaten much all day so was really excited to try this new spot . We ordered the dry pot with chicken wings and dumplings on the side . We got there at 4 pm and the restaurant was empty , our food came out pretty quickly . I really enjoyed the flavor of the food but I wish that it came with more chicken wings . The dry pot was enough for 3 people !! It is a very large portion. Great spot for dry pot !
