Food:#25 - Chicken Noodle Soup: Delicious, full of flavor. 5/5.#6 - Chicken Curry Vermicelli: Decent, but the chicken was overcooked and had a strange taste. 3.5/5.#65 - Mixed Dish: Same issue with the chicken--overcooked and off-tasting--but the shrimp was good. A bit too oily overall.Ambiance:Casual spot, but the tables and floor were sticky, which wasn't great.Service:Super fast, no complaints there. A bit pricy for the ambiance and quality.

I really appreciate the generous portion sizes at Saigon BBQ Noodle House and the warm, family-friendly service. The restaurant has a bright, open-concept dining area with plenty of seating, and it's kept very clean. To get a good comparison with other pho and rice dish spots on the same street, I ordered a variety of items. Their pho came steaming hot, packed with fresh ingredients, and had a well-made, no frills broth. While it's a standard pho, it absolutely satisfies a craving. What stood out was the noodle portion--by far more generous than other spots I've been to.The broken rice dish I tried was essentially a sampler, featuring seven different proteins. My favorite was the grilled boneless pork, while the chicken thigh was just okay, and the beef ribs weren't particularly memorable. The shredded pork skin and sunny-side-up egg helped bring the dish together. I didn't receive a clear broth with my rice plate--possibly because I also ordered pho, but if it doesn't come standard, that would be disappointing.I really like that they offer smaller side portions so you can mix and match without committing to full appetizer orders. This time, I tried the fried egg roll and chicken wings, which both arrived piping hot and were tasty. Next time, I'd probably go for something different, like the fried squid or fresh spring rolls, which other reviewers have raved about.Overall, this is a comfy spot for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. The menu is extensive, and the service is friendly. Looking forward to coming back and trying more!

If you're looking for a more "hole in the wall" authentic Vietnamese place, you found it! We ordered the Combination Pho and vegetarian pho. Both were loaded with noodles and toppings! I was on my last bites of noodles and still eating beef with every bite. The broth was rich and delicious. Portions are generous and price is a great value. Service was awesome. We will definitely be back for a vermicelli bowl or another bowl of pho.

The restaurant is very clean. The restroom is also decent for an SF restaurant. You gotta ensure looking for street parking in order to get here. The staff is very friendly and knows their stuff. I overheard a lot of customers ask about ingredients being used and they were nice enough to explain. A lot of people were doing takeout, but it a nice space to sit down and eat. There were groups of people catching up and families so the space is nice for groups. The food disappointed me, but I feel like I didn't order the right things so I can't judge too much. The fresh spring rolls were not worth it. They had the bare minimum inside of them. I was expecting bean sprouts, mint and carrots. The tofu was thin so mostly hard. It has a whole lot of vermicelli and that is honestly all I can remember about it. The pho was lukewarm. It wasn't hot enough to cook the rare beef initially. The broth was not as flavorful as I was expecting either. Overall, the customer service here is great. The ambience is clean and the restaurant is very well kept. That is why I'm sad that I didn't enjoy the food. It didn't leave me satisfied and there are better pho places. The prices are really good for SF tho! Try it out for yourself and maybe you'll have a better experience.

Went to visits family in SF & we decided to eat here after coming from the near by park. The ambiance of this restaurant is nice & very clean. The servers were good & inform us a few items on their menu were unavailable while we were dining. The food I got was the garlic noodles with beef ribs. The garlic noodles were super flavorful and had a good amount of garlic in each bite. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The beef ribs were tender & juicy with flavor & the sauce that came with it made it taste even better!

The outside of the restaurant is subtle, I had no idea that the inside of Saigon BBQ is very spacious. The tables are not crowded together. My mom ordered a pho with rare beef, meatballs, and tripe. She liked it and thought the meat was tender. They have a big menu, so I wanted to try something different but also a soup noodle. I ordered the BBQ Beef Noodle Soup. The BBQ beef is sliced beef steak wrapped around sliced onions. The onions inside are perfect but the beef is really well done, much better with the dip. The soup noodles was simple, maybe a touch too salty, so I added more bean sprouts and greens. Some menu items are topped with peanuts, be careful if you are sensitive to cross-contact and let your server know if you have food allergies. I had a nice chat with Nathan, one of the brothers working at this family run business. The food is good, prices are reasonable, and the restaurant feels clean and comfortable, we will be back!

After a long morning hike, we came in starving and anxious for some good food. This place didn't disappoint. We ordered the DIY spring rolls and pho. The dishes were sooooo flavorful! The restaurant was crowded around noon which was a good sign. It took a while for us to be seated and it took awhile for the food to be served. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our meal and would visit again.

If I want Vietnamese food and not Vietnamese-Chinese food in the city or am craving Vietnamese: I go here. For a few years, I've heavily disappointed because I couldn't find any Vietnamese foods. There are some really good Vietnamese-Chinese spots.. but it's not the same.Do note, there is nothing wrong with Vietnamese-Chinese food - it's delicious and holds merit ~ is not less than. There is a depth and complexity of foods from each group. But if I want certain Vietnamese noodles dishes and what they are known for in flavor/ingredients- ex: I want the pork's blood which often times is omitted at Vietnamese-Chinese establishments.Anyways---I've never experienced a dish I have not liked here and it's been nice to have my boyfriend try more Vietnamese dishes that aren't necessarily all common in the city and it's not like we're going to be in San Jose all the time.. nor do I want in San Jose - whole other issue.-I tend to get a different dish everytime:-soupy noodles - bun rieu - bun bo hue-Sauteed Filet Mignon Beef / Bò Lúc Lắc-Curry Shrimp / Tôm Cà Ri ( contains peanuts ) -Sweet and Sour Shrimp Soup / Canh Chua Tôm-Sauteed Lemon Grass Tofu with Rice / Cơm tofu xào sả ớtClaypots (my favorite is the first one listed below):-Seafood Clay Pot ( Shrimp, fish ball, squid, & mussel sauteed with rice in clay pot) /Cơm Tay Cầm Đồ Biển-Sauteed Shrimp, Chicken, Squid, Chinese Sausage, Vegetable, and Rice Cooked in Clay Pot (Cơm Tay Cầm Thập Cẩm) I have not ordered their pho, but am loving everything on the menu that I've tried by far.Service is good. I say venture out and stop ordering just pho or the basics as you know if you're not Vietnamese or are.
