This place popped up and we were curious. This place is definitely worth a try if you're in the area. F O O DFried Chicken over Fried Rice - the hubby has been looking for something like this up here and this place is the closest to his favorite restaurant in SoCal (Banana Bay). The continental fried rice is a flavor that's difficult find and the fried chicken is extra crispy. It also comes with a sweet and sour sauce that goes well with the chicken and fried rice. This dish is a little expensive imo, so we don't frequent this place as much as we'd like.S E R V I C EAttentive - this place seems to get more to go orders than sit down orders. I can see why - with tax and tip, the dishes come out to almost $20/each. It's also a little off the beaten path from downtown, but well worth the trek if you're craving Thai.

I came on a Friday for lunch with others. We were the first ones to seat at a table and we had to flag down the server to input our order. As others have mentioned, this place is slow. Maybe there's just a single chef but it took about 30 mins for our food to order. Once the food arrived, I was excited since portions looked huge. However after the first bite, I was disappointed. I order the pad see ew, and it could've used more flavor. My friends spicy basil wasn't even spicy although they asked for it spicy. It also didn't have much flavor and they added tons of chili flakes on top. It seemed like food was made to be non-spicy maybe to cater to the pallet of other guests. But in my opinion, if a customer asks for spicy then the dish should be made spicy.I am still looking for a great Thai place in South San Francisco. And bummed this place couldn't fulfil my hopes.

Placed a take out order for lunch and the lady on the phone was helpful and kind. I ordered a spicy basil with ground chicken. I enjoyed the flavors but wish there were more chicken, basil and other veggies. It was mostly onions with some bell peppers sprinkled in. Overall flavor was there. I forgot to take a picture until half way through but you can see it's mostly onions and the rice I added. I would order from them again maybe a different dish though.

Saap Thai Kitchen in South San Francisco was a huge letdown. Here's why it gets only 1 star.Service with a Snail's Pace: The service was incredibly slow and inattentive. We were in a small indoor space, so it shouldn't have been hard to get the staff's attention. However, it took a frustrating 10 minutes to flag them down after finding a hair in the soup! Even worse, the restaurant wasn't even busy. On top of that, my Thai iced tea (which should have come out quickly) arrived after the food, and only after I reminded them about the order.Chicken Pad Kee Mao Mystery: My chicken pad kee mao came with a measly 5 tiny pieces of chicken. There were no vegetables to speak of, just 2-3 cold red bell peppers thrown in for good measure. It lacked any spice whatsoever, and only the chili sauce saved it from being completely bland.A Single Bright Spot: The only saving grace of the entire meal was the Thai iced tea. It was good, and probably the highlight of my experience.Hair-Raising Tom Yum: My friend's experience wasn't much better. Her Tom Yum noodle soup, while flavorful, was marred by the discovery of a hai! Thankfully, our server was apologetic and replaced the soup after we finally managed to get his attention.Salad with a Kick: On a slightly positive note, my friend did enjoy her salad. It had the spice level she requested.Overall, Saap Thai Kitchen was a frustrating and disappointing experience.

We were looking for a a family style restaurant to eat at on the way to the San Francisco Airport, so I found Saap Thai Kitchen as it is close to the airport and easy on/off the 101 freeway. We came in pretty early for dinner, around 5pm, so the restaurant was not busy. We were greeted and seat right away. We ordered the Tum Yum Soup (delicious and not overly spicy and seasoned perfectly), Papaya Salad - Issan Style (has anchovy and tamarind sauce, very good), Pad See Ew w/ Chicken (could use a little more flavor, but not bad), Red Curry w/ Pork (slightly bland, could use more red curry sauce and less coconut milk) and Spicy Basil Pork Belly (great blend of flavors and and only mildly spicy). The Spicy Pork Belly was our favorite dish overall. Prices were reasonable for the portion size and being in the city. We would definitely come back to try their other dishes the next time we are in the area.

Great flavor. Issan style with pungent spices and flavor. Four spice levels: mild, medium, spicy, extra spicy. Very attentive waiter answering questions and very accommodating to requests. Their Thai tea is strong and delicious. They also have a drink with half Thai tea, half vietnamese coffee. Tom yum is flavorful and just enough heat; we ordered medium. (I could have gone hotter and will try something spicy next time) Papaya salad was fresh and tangy. The tofu is a favorite. Super crispy. Cute inside with line murals but pretty small. Lots of take out going on so clearly they are popular. The menu has a great selection. I've been back a few times and it's my fave Thai in the peninsula right now!

I went here with my friend around Tuesday at noon and this place was packed! There was only one poor guy manning the entire front and he was definitely overwhelmed. This definitely echoed my experience when I went to White Elephant Thai restaurant (see my review https://www.yelp.com/biz/white-elephant-restaurant-south-san-francisco-2?hrid=a6QobqD6qZMEq2DJMkimjw&utm) and as this is a sister restaurant, I can't say that I'm surprised. I do feel bad for the servwe as he was waiting on tables, taking orders, and also preparing orders for delivery services too! When it comes to the food, it was definitely great that it was the sister restaurant of White Elephant because the quality, great portion sizes, and authentic flavor is all still there! We ordered the crab fried rice, pad see ew with beef, pad Thai with chicken, and another pad Thai with beef (we were planning dinner to go too hehe). The food came out pretty quick and had tons of flavor. Loved the quality and portions of the food here. As for ambiance, the restaurant is pretty small and has some cool murals on the two main walls. It was pretty packed and people were even waiting outside during this prime weekday lunchtime. As for parking, there is street parking so could be hit or miss! Overall, will definitely come back but would suggest more help for the staff in the front for better efficiency!

Saap Thai is a simple, casual restaurant offering rustic plates of Thai street food. One of my favorite dishes was the Isaan Style Papaya Salad, made of shredded papaya, carrots, tomatoes, and green beans, mixed with a funky, salty fermented fish dressing. The Ginger Garlic Squid was a simple stir-fry of onions, peppers, woodear mushrooms, and squid in a light ginger garlic sauce; and the Massaman Curry was a thick yellow coconut curry with potato chunks and chicken breast slices. Finally, the classic Pad Thai was made of thin rice noodles stir-fried with egg, shrimp, tofu, bean sprouts, and green onions, all drenched in a sweet and sour sauce. Overall, this wasn't the best Thai food I've had, as the plating was rustic and the flavors were simplified. The prices were also high for what we got, and the setting could have been more comfortable/clean.

I meet my girlfriend here for lunch and it is a cosy place with super sweet staff. I ordered the mixed vegetables and was given complementary portion of rice on a side. Their curries are premixed with fish paste so not suitable for vegans. The dish was presents very quickly and it was delicious with lots of flavors, very flavorful. The owner checked on us multiple times which was greatly appreciated. CC accepted.
