Royal Donut Shop

Definitely a hole-in-the-wall gem! I heard about this place from some friends as well as saw that they had Dubai Chocolate inspired donuts so my husband and I decided to check it out while we were in Burlingame. We parked in one of the designated parking spots for the shop, but there's plenty of parking around the area in case those spots are all filled. Walking in it's definitely a no-frills type of donut shop but it's still very clean. On a Saturday around 12:30pm they still had plenty of options and we had to let a few parties order before us since we couldn't decide on what we wanted! We finally settled on a classic glazed donut, Dubai chocolate donut, maple old fashioned, and a jalapeño bagel dog. Hands down everything was SO good. I'm a classic glazed raised donut type of gal and it literally tasted like Krispy Kreme but better because you get more dough instead of air, but it's still super soft and fluffy! The Dubai chocolate donut was also delicious - they stuff it with the knafeh and pistachio mix so it's very rich with flavor but not too too sweet. They had a steady flow of customers even after we ordered which solidified that this place was most likely a neighborhood fave. I may or may not have been taking notes so I know what to order for next time ;) For sure I would love to try one of their banh mi sandwiches - they looked reasonably priced and from the number of people ordering them they must be good too!Also - the ladies at the counter were super sweet. The one who rang us up even threw in a free glazed donut hole into one of our donut bags!

Bought a box of donuts from Royal Donut Shop recently and we loved it! The apple fritter was delicious, moist, and huge. The maple bar donut was also a favorite of ours and wasn't overly sweet. The donuts were all fresh with a fluffy interior. They were carefully packed in the box and taped up for safety. Parking can be tough on this main street in Burlingame but directly across the street are a few 24-minute parking spaces with cars coming and going the entire time.I can't wait to come back and try some of the donuts that other Yelpers have mentioned.

So apparently I'm a donut connoisseur. My friends and I looked for donuts after a gig in San Mateo, and they were one of the few places open late.We got there at about 11am, and I was surprised they had so much left! So we tried a bunch of different donuts. We even tried a cronut!Everything was great! I would definitely come back here, especially late at night after a gig! Because I'm watching my weight, I'm really glad they're out of the way from my regular Tuesday-night gig in San Mateo.

Solid spot! Even after stopping by around 5pm they had a decent selection! I really liked the apple fritter (it was huge!) and the cronut holes - we also tried a cream filled glazed and chocolate frosted also with cream even though I asked for chocolate glazed and asked if they had vanilla filling, she said yes - I don't think the girl understood me or just wanted to sell donuts... overall they were solid. Spent about $14 with $2 tip.

The customer service is good, but it can be a bit slow in the evening. I'm sure this is because normally one person is working and making the coffee and teas ordered.

The banh mi is usually very good. Today my bread was burnt and I'm shocked they decided to give it to me that way. All I could taste was charred bread. Other than that, I always enjoy the sandwiches when done right.

There's something comforting about donuts after having a few rounds of drinks? I did not pick the doughnut selection, but we ended up with a few basic ones. I believe some plain old fashioneds ended up in my takeout bag. If memory serves, they were crispy, chewy, and obviously not too sweet.As a donut lover, how could I ever say no to a late night treat?! Next time, I'd love to try some other varieties. I do adore a good custard filled one!

The best place for donuts, sandwich and others/mochi. From the service and the environment is very clean. Love it.

The BEST Banh Mi on the Peninsula. Meat is flavorful, bread is nicely crusty, and the pickled vegetables add a nice freshness to the sandwich. Grab a boba drink to have with your sandwich and take a donut to go for later. The donuts are fantastic! Prices are very reasonable and super nice staff behind the counter.
