Very affordable cafe on Taraval with delicious and unique pastries! It's a casual mom and pop place with seating inside. Everything is homemade and they have a nice variety of baked goods and pastries, both savory and sweet. Love to see the creative flavors they have. They also have sandwiches, quiche, and coffee. I got the Hawaiian sticky bun and it was delicious! Not overly sweet and I loved the sticky sauce. Definitely need to try their mochissant and the mango sticky rice kouign amann!

A great tasting unassuming bakery in the Sunset district, the pastries here were a great blend of French and Asian flavors. The shop is right along the L line and there was some seating inside to enjoy the baked goods. We got an assortment of pastries, such as one of each flavor of the Portuguese egg tart and mochi-croissants, the mango sticky rice kouign amann, and a pork kouign amann. The egg tarts were nice and custard-y without being two sweet and they had both matcha and ube flavors as well. The mochi croissants had a nice chewy mochi layer in between the flaky crust, with flavors since as strawberry, blueberry and chocolate. The mango sticky rice kouign amann was also very good, although the mango flavor could have came through a bit more. The pork kouign amann was probably our least favorite since we were expecting a Chinese bbq pork style flavor, but it was more like pulled pork. However all the desserts were very well made and tasty overall.

Been wanting to try this place for a while. Finally gave it a go while I was in the neighborhood. My two favorite delights are mochi and croissants so their mochi croissant was right up my alley and did not disappoint. The croissant was flaky and the mochi feeling was chewy goodness. They ran out of plain so I opted for the chocolate which was not overpowering and it was localized to one part which I appreciated. Tried the black sesame croissant which was a little light in flavor but the croissant flakiness and texture made up for it. The Ube egg tart was also very good! Will def miss all these items as this place is moving to SD. Will def have to share this place to all my SD friends!!

I'm bumping the rating to 5, not because this place is spanking fancy, but because their price point is so reasonable, which is so rare these days: all coffees $5 or less, all sandwiches $10 or less, and all pastries even lesser. Bruno is the most hands-on owner and deserves to get a financier to expand his business, so more people will get a taste of his work. With originals like mochissant, black sesame croissant and mango sticky rice Kough amann, Rolling Out should roll out throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Order in advance to make sure you get what you want - it's worth it!

Rolling Out is a delightful bakery I had the pleasure of stopping by whilst in the Sunset district. This bakery is creativity with quality! I tried several pastries, including the Ham & Cheese Croissant, Black Sesame Croissant, and a Pork Bun Kouign-Amann, Mango Kouign-Amann -- each one was flaky, fresh, and full of flavor. The mochi croissants were such a tasty and unique treat--perfectly chewy with just the right sweetness. :) The service was friendly and efficient, and I appreciated how everything was packaged neatly for takeaway. If you're a fan of croissants with a twist or looking to try something new, Rolling Out is a must-visit. definitely will back to explore more of their menu!

Rolling out is a small local bakery focused on French pastries with an Asian flavor twist and affordable prices. After multiple attempts to go, my wife was finally able to make a trip here during a time where it was early enough to get some items before they run out as is typical here. Amongst the items we tried, all were very flavorful, well sized, and very well priced. Ham and cheese croissant was probably one of our favorites even amongst the huge variety in the bay area. The cheese was very abundant as well as the ham. The lychee croissant was the most unique as it was not a flavor we found in many other pastry spots. Being that I have to watch my sugar, I don't find myself indulging very often, but rolling out would be one of my top places for French pastry, especially if you're in the sunset district.

No queue on a Friday morning ~10:45am!Yes, rated Rolling Out higher than Arsicault based on the chocolate croissant.Chocolate croissant: $4.50 Super flaky! Chocolate was good; tho prefer dark / 70% chocolate.Portuguese custard tart: $2.20 Crust was same flaky pastry dough, not pie crust. Custard was good; light & not rich; would prefer more caramelization. Not kept warm like at other bakeries. Nothing compares to GG Bakery.Service was welcoming & friendly. The owner is adding a parklet for outdoor seating!

So good and very affordable compared to others. The crust and texture of the items got me sold. The quality was stellar! Too bad they are closing in a week. I will definitely go back a few more times before they close.

The baked goods at this cafe/bakery are fantastic. Of course the first thing that comes to mind is the mango sticky rice Kouign-Amann, which is wildly good. It's only served on weekends (or at least that's what I was told a couple years ago! Might be different now). The mochi croissants are also amazing - the chai flavor is one of my favorites!I'm pretty sure I've had iced coffee here and a breakfast sandwich at some point (?). The coffee wasn't memorable (literally, I don't remember it lol), and I think the breakfast sandwich was good? I wish I remembered better, but the baked goods are really what shines.Definitely give them a try! The folks who work there are also SO nice!! Well priced too.
