I have eaten in thousands of hotel restaurants (I travelled for a living) and most are average food and not much atmosphere. This restaurant is in the Holiday Inn which actually is a very nice hotel. The atmosphere is not good, something like a cafeteria but actually the food is surprisingly good. They actually had a better pizza than other places around SFO and the hamburgers and french fries were very good. The prices were good considering it is right in the city and the food that we received. I gave it a five star because I think as a take-out restaurant it is better than anything around it.

I stay at the hotel at least one week out of the month. It is great. Thought I'd run downstairs to have a glass of wine and snack. They have you seat yourself. Think that is so they don't have to acknowledge you are there. After about 10 minutes of waiting for anyone to notice me, I got up and asked for a help. Gentleman brought me menu and said waitress would be over. She never came over. Got up again to ask for glass of wine. He brought wine, I ask if they had deserts. He eventually brought desert menu. Said he would send over waitress. I should have made him wait and take my order. She never showed up. After another 10 minutes I had to get up and go to the bar and ask for the desert. Ordered desert. It is a lemon bar. How long could that take, right? Presently still waiting. I'll let you know how long it takes. So that was another 15 minutes to put a lemon bar and some slides strawberries on a plate. I guess for those of us trapped at the hotel, it is better than nothing. If you're not staying here.... really why would you ever bother eat here?

ROH is the restaurant and bar of the Holiday Inn Gateway. It was raining and we were exhausted so we opted to eat at ROH and had a nice dinner. ROH comes from the chemical composition of alcohol so the wine was served in a big flask. They serve local beer on tap as well. There are plenty of televisions if you want to watch a game and then a view of Van Ness street from the open windows. We started with the chips and dipping sauce. The chips were not hot yet the sauce made up for the lukewarm taste. I had the salmon and it was served piping hot with potatoes. They also had flatbread on the menu and a few other appetizers. It was a good meal and our server took great care of us. Roh is also where the breakfast buffet is served in the morning.

Very plain and unexciting food. Limited selection.Poor service. Waited 15 minutes before getting a menu. After ordering we waited almost an hour and they brought out luke warm food. Also the appetizers at the same time as the 2 meals.

Absolutely horrendous. HI should be ashamed of such a poorly ran bar and restaurant!! I waited for over 20 mins to be waited on and just left! The bartender was checking his phone, the wait staff was just joking around, and there was no management on duty. What a shame!!

Wow... Such negative reviews for this place, why? I get it that the last place you want to eat in San Francisco is a hotel restaurant, in such a wonderful city for gastronomic delights. But if this place were in... Omaha, it'd be one of the best places in town! More than adequate place for drinks and meals... Had a hamborger twice in the 3 days we were there, was very good. Other stuff on the somewhat limited menu was just fine as well. I wouldn't necessarliy go out of my way to come here if I wasn't staying at the hotel, but rest assured, if you are tired or want convenience, tis place is pretty good.

Not a bad place to grab a bite, but a little pricey for what you get. Not surprised because the restaurant is inside the Holiday Inn. I had the charcuterie plate - which was delicious, and the chicken and salmon. Salmon was a little dry, I actually used the sauce from the chicken onto the salmon.

The wonderful service is what gave this rating a star. The staff was quick to greet and serve us. The food however was not too good. The chicken tenders and wings were well over fried and the pizza could have been baked some more. We stayed at the hotel this restaurant is located in, thus giving it a try.

Terrible service - the male cashier was rude and didn't even give us utensils with our order. I think he is hard of hearing because he didn't ring up my bakery item with my coffee then he gave me grief because he had to ring me up a second time. This place is like a coffee shop - I expected better for the prices being very expensive! $10 for a cup of tea and a plain croissant.. Yikes!
