Omg! I just came in to buy some lovely El Salvador style Pastries & ran out because one of the trays had a COCKROACH!!!! instead of apologizing & tossing out the whole case, they were just gonna kill the one bug. So sad. I will now have to get my Latin Pastry elsewhere for my cheat days from here on out. Ugh! I was so looking forward to this shop too.

Charming colorful little Latin pastry/bakery shop, a blink once and you'll miss it kinda storefront on San Mateo Avenue, the street that's so chockfull of authentic Mexican cafes and supermarkets, it warms my soul. We were across the street when we popped in here after dinner, because judging from all the rave reviews on Yelp, I figured how could I go wrong. I did not step wrong. This is the real deal, e.g. freshly made tamales--chicken and pork with red sauce. We got their banana bread, peanut butter chocolate chip, not hat usual combination but they make it work, as well as their coconut cooke and banana bread. Our server, Evely, was adorable and so so so gracious, she comped us a lemon turnover. All of it was super good and hit the spot, none of it overly artificially sweet, only the sweetness that comes from the product itself. The prices are more than reasonable and they also serve ice cream (mango anyone?), and all forms of brewed coffee. Parking is on the street, paid at peak times, but often not that difficult to get.

This is a wonderful little bakery, do yourself a favor and make a point to stop by. There is no dedicated parking lot, but we always find a space within 2 blocks......and the pastries are worth it!!!!They are open 7 days a week, and the employees are very friendly and helpful. They all speak Spanish and English, so don't be worried if you don't speak Spanish. They have a large variety of Salvadorian Pan dulce. You can ask what an item is if you are not sure. However they are all good so you can't go wrong. We come here about once a month and the food and the service are consistent. Thank you Rico Pan!

The bakery has a variety of breads and I can't write about the quality or taste because I didn't even bother to buy anything. There were flies inside the pastry's display! When we went to Rico Pan Bakery, we called out and waited for anyone to come help for at least 3 minutes, perhaps there have one person? I don't know that this bakery isn't awesome but but I did opt to go, Eterna Primadera where it looked more organized and uncluttered. If you know this is bakery has awesome bread but my visit may have been a fluke, please reply to this review, I don't want to be unjust.

Dry and stale not fresh! Terrible It's pricey, but if it was fresh, I totally wouldn't mind.

Not the best bread, it was very dry and stale. Would not recommend coming here if you like fresh pan dulce.

Service was alright. They could have been more welcoming. The food I got from here was enough to make me not return. I ordered a pan con frijoles, crema y queso. It was loaded with stinky cheese (super salty). The coffee was not it. The creamer offered was coffee mate and it was Super watered down. Not creamy at all. Lastly, I got the banana pudding bread. It was okay. All for $12.50.

This place used to be a Mexican bakery and then switched to Salvadorian. I wanted to love it because it's close by and I want to support small businesses. Each visit I am more disappointed, not so much with the quality but, the taste of the pastries is subpar for an establishment that all they have to be good at is making bread. I always go back months later in the hopes that they've hired a better (panadero) baker and continue to be underwhelmed. I wonder if they ever taste the product or even look at the overbaked almost burnt pastries they sometimes put out? Not giving up hope though, my gluttony for punishment will have me coming back until they improve.
