The Rice Flour specializes in roll cakes made with rice flour imported from Korea. The roll cakes are made with rice flour and are gluten-free. I had the red blossom and a bite of the early morning. The red blossom has a sweet red bean cream filling. The cake itself is very soft, pairing well with the cream in the center of the roll cake which is perfect! There are pieces of red bean in the filling, and the flavor is not too sweet or overwhelming and is very subtle and light. The early morning roll cake has a green tea flavor, and it has sweet notes with the slightly bitter taste of green tea at the end. This roll cake was also delicious and had many different layers to it! Overall, the roll cakes are amazing! I would definitely come back to try the rest of the roll cake flavors, and the pastry chef was also super nice and very passionate about her pastries. I look forward to what she will concoct in the future!

One of the best desserts I've ever had! I tried the midnight roll during the popup in Cow Hollow and it was the perfect balance of sweetness with chocolate flavor. I will definitely be trying the other flavors!

These rolls remind me of the cool warm summer breeze back in Korea, when I was just 7 years old. I remember my tooth was loose and hurting and wanted to eat some dessert, and my grandma brought a rolls just like this and I was crying while enjoying my sweets...Obviously, these are not the same roll, but the baker was inspired and trained by the best in Korea and we are blessed to have experience this in our local home, San Francisco. I have not tried the other rolls, but I HIGHLY recommend going and trying for yourself. These desserts are unique and you won't find them anywhere else in the bay! They are gluten free and have lots of filling to fill our guts to the fullest! One thing I would point out is that it would be nice to have some coffee to balance out the sweetness, but I'm sire they'll have some more variety and choices when the real store opens up!!!!I put my Yelp Elite status on the line for this place, so make sure to stop by!! :)

We got the red velvet cake recently at the sushi hakko lunch popup and it was absolutely delicious!! the cake was so light and fluffy, the cream cheese filling was perfectly tangy and not too sweet, and the rosemary was the perfect herb to top it all off. I'll be dreaming of this cake and can't wait until the hayes valley location opens

I discovered this popup while looking for lunch in the Marina. While they were fully committed, I decided to give these roll cakes a try. The flavors were on point and reminded me of desserts from Asia. Plus for these cakes being gluten free (they use rice flour)!

My friend and I went to The Roll pop up at Sushi Hakko and the first thing I noticed were the desserts and how pretty they were! We tried the red blossom one which has a red bean cream. It was delicious! Extremely light and not too sweet. Definitely want to try the others because they looked amazing :)
