Me and my family LOVE Regent Thai Restaurant and order from there several times a month. My most recent visit I stopped by for lunch on Wednesday and the restaurant was bustling with patrons, as well as with folks stopping by to pick up take-out orders. It's a warm and inviting ambience with kind staff. I ordered the Gra Prow with chicken; the lunch specials come with a side of white or brown rice. I also ordered Pad Se-eiw with chicken for my husband. I can't give enough praise to Regent Thai for their fresh veggies and delicious dishes!

This is one of my frequent go-to Thai restaurants in the city where Thai places are common. One of the things that I value in a restaurant is consistency of quality and these folks always roll out high standards in their servings. And while there are so many Thai eateries in San Francisco in plenty of pockets around town and everyone has their favorites, I submit this post as a simple endorsement as a great place to try or include in your rotation. The food is very good with plenty of selection, the place is clean and the service is prompt with reasonable pricing. That about checks off all the boxes.

I Love me a good Thai food any day..But this particular place we went to tonight was just okay! I wish I could give it a solid 5 stars but for some reason it was kind of off night for me?!? However..my hubby loved the food! I'll explain my version of why I didn't find this place spectacular?!!We didn't drive far to get there...So far so good when we got a parking right in front of the restaurant! We see from inside the windows there's a few people inside having dinner! As we enter in..I proceed to the front of the desk where I guess you let someone know you want a table?!? Mind you..it was a pretty long walk up there!!Finally..this lady asked us if we're doing take out or dining in?? I tell her...we're eating here! Then another girl comes out from the kitchen..smiling finally @ us..and says..you can choose any table! :))We sat down and the nice smiley girl gives us 2 menus..2 waters and this delicious little dish of crunchy shrimp chips and a dip which I liked! As we're chomping on the shrimp chips..my hubby looks @ the menu of what we can order! I can't really see coz I forgot my glasses! Lol! :-0I'll include the rest of the pictures of our food with a number and descriptions of what we ate! As my hubby orders the food..I ask the smiley girl I'd like to get a Thai tea! She was kind to give us one more helping of that yummy shrimp chips! Also..it did take awhile for her to come back to our table when we were ready to order..the smiley girl was busy attending to other customers inside and the other lady nearby the kitchen was busy too I guess getting ready the take out orders for pick up??? Which later I noticed about 6 different customers come in to pick up their food so I think it's great that they're busy tonight on a Tuesday?!? :))Not too long that our food came right away..first..it was our Deep fried spring rolls and the SomTum which was shredded Papaya salad! Both were very good and yummy! :))Maybe we should have had the Papaya salad more spicy but I told hubby no on the spicy! My bad! :((Then my Jasmin rice came and my hubby's brown rice came along with our main course meals!!I really appreciated the heart shaped rice they gave us! :))Hmmm..upon looking @ the dishes..It was kind of small?!? I mean..the serving was odd in my opinion!I see small servings of the Woonsen noodles and I merely saw more veggies with 6-7 small strips of white chicken a lot of mushrooms and carrots but hardly any noodles?!?!I think the noodles were just prepared for one person?!? I'd thought from previous other Thai restaurants I've been to..More Noodles given are the focal point of why it's called on the menu as a description of Woonsen Noodles should overpower the veggies!?! See the receipt...I'm a bit confused! Then we got another dish called Tofu Pad Ma Kuer which is basically tofu..eggplant with veggies! I love eggplant but I needed more of it!!Okie..this one was good but not great enough to say I'd order it againIt lacked flavor and so did the other dish with hardly any noodles lacked flavor?!! I'm sorry..I really needed my packets of soy sauce which I had in my glove compartment! It would be embarrassing for me to go get that so I just ate the food coz I was really hungry! Which by the way..I was still hungry after our meal!! :-0Overall..it was a very nice little corner restaurant with pretty decors on the walls and the smiley girl was very nice to always fill our waters when it became empty! The service was just okay..the food was just okay! I'd probably come back just coz my hubby enjoyed his food and maybe we could try other things in the menu! It seemed that it was busy all around today probably with the support of nearby neighbors coming to this restaurant! Thank you Regent Thai for a lovely dinner! We hope next time I'd like to give you a higher score! :))

Came in with a girlfriend for the lunch special. It's a really cute corner place, lots of natural daylight & the decor is simple, yet elegant.I ordered the lunch special tofu pad ma kuer & asked w soft tofu and vegan. Maybe because I asked for the dish to be changed, I found it tasting plain. There was not much flavor in my dish. The waitress was very sweet and I will give this place another try. Wanted to split our bill & were asked to pay with one card. CC accepted

* date visited: 08.07.2024* ordered: nuer gra prowservice was super attentive and they were very kind, we had a large group and they were able to accommodate us well which was appreciated! the flavors of my dish were really good, i added some extra chili flakes but even without the addition, the dish was dimensional -- spicy, slightly sour, savory. the lemongrass, basil, and bell peppers added a lot of bright elements to the dish. the beef itself was not as tender as i would've hoped for and the portion was quite small for the price.

Love trying new Thai spots and this restaurant was on my list! I really like the pricing and plating but the portions felt a little small. Food also was a bit underwhelming with spice, even after adding chili flakes and paste it did not increase spice much. I like the meat and how they don't charge additional for beef.Tastes good, but was expecting larger portions because it's Thai food and I was still hungry after.

The trout was sooo yum! Not as spicy as what I'd think two pepper signs meant, but did come with fresh jalapeno slices. The sauce perfectly complimented the fried fish, and there were barely any bones at all. Dishes came out fast and we were able to make a reservation for around 15 people. The restaurant isn't huge, but is spacious enough and has comfy seating. There is street parking outside.

Been eating here for years at least 10 years maybe 15 years. I seen them go through changes but the food is always hella good. Most of all it tastes fresh to me and made with love. Cute inside there, it's more modern now. I miss when they used to wear the Thai dresses. Anyway a MUST try is the tofu cho roos appetizer! Good curry and fried rice, noodles too and I really like the fried shrimps wrapped in paper. I always get take out here but when I did dine in they were friendly & quick. I might have to go this weekend!Update: 10/24/24 I decided to eat here and dine in this time but the food was not as good as I remember. So Im changing my rating accordingly.

Regent Thai continues to impress after so many years! We placed a large order for a dinner event serving 50 people, and everything was exceptional -- flavorful, generous, and beautifully prepared. Our guests raved about the delicious curries (yellow, green, and Panang), the beautifully scored vegetables, and the tender chicken and beef. The pad see ew was a crowd favorite, and the chef's specials -- yellow prawns and golden salmon -- were truly outstanding. The staff made the experience even better. Preeya was incredibly helpful during the initial order, Kay ensured a smooth pickup, and Chef Busara's warmth and joy shine through in every dish. Thank you all -- we'll definitely be back!
