Rainbow Pizza

I came here about 10 years ago and liked it a lot then, SO happy it's the same warm atmosphere and generous portions today!The food is delicious and (again) the portions are phenomenal. Definitely recommend coming, just try not to get overwhelmed by the gigantic menus!

My brother told me about Rainbow and their huge delicious portions. He was spot on!He got the Spaghetti and Meatballs it came with four good size meatballs. He shared one with me and I enjoyed the flavor. It also came with a generous amount of French bread. I got the Veal Piccata and you can't go wrong with lemon butter and capers. I subbed the rice for spaghetti with red sauce. Love the steak cut French fries, too. The service was great!I can see why this restaurant has been staple since 1983. I'm definitely coming back:)

Stellar experience when we visited for an early dinner with our toddler and baby on our way home on a Saturday evening.Service was excellent, the staff was super friendly (albeit slightly disorganised). They found a nice spot for us to park our stroller and gave us a high chair. Our son loved the giant olives on the Greek style pizza we ordered. The portions are huge and hearty - we had a mini pizza which fed my 2 year old and I and we had half a pizza to take home! We also ate a mountain of salad and some very tasty lemon/egg drop soup. The interior is quirky - lots of unique and colourful wall art. It's a little cramped in the entryway with a lot of delivery boxes and not much space - but once you get inside, it's spacious enough. It's a shame we don't live closer, else I could see a lot more pizza at Rainbow PIzza in our future!

You do not want to miss out on going to Rainbow Pizza in San Mateo! Friendly employees, especially the owner, delicious flavorful food, with generous portions, and a comfortable, Greek decorated restaurant! Perfect for family dining - their dishes are more than enough to share. One of my must-order choices is The Vegetarian Pizza #8. The cheese and olives are the best around, not to mention the crust! Also, don't miss out on their famous Greek Salad - I could make a meal of that alone. I would highly recommend Rainbow Pizza! We will be back very soon!

Omg - what shall we say . Traditional Greek food. Greek language and the staff are great. The menu is vast and very authentic. I lived in Greece for a while and I'll say . WIN. I had the mousakka and the Horiataki Salad. No olives - too much sodium. The family run business is quaint and warm. I took so many pictures. I love eggplant and will be back. I'll bring my dad who is a huge fan of Greek life. Please stop by- you will be happy you did. The pizza is some of the best I ever had. I got the meat lovers pizza -

Great pizza & gyros, bring your appetite. Wonderful selection of Italian & Greek food. I have never been disappointed after eating there a zillion times. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

We get Rainbow Pizza almost every year for my dad's birthday - the Greek American is one of his all-time favorites. While I don't personally love the plethora of toppings, he does, and that's what's important!My mom and I usually split the mushroom spaghetti (very comforting), Greek salad and garlic bread. They definitely excel in comfort food. We used to dine in frequently when we lived on the peninsula but have since gotten takeout. It was a great spot to bring groups for family dinners. Staff have always incredibly friendly and warm. Parking can be a bit tough in the complex since you're competing with Safeway, Starbucks and other restaurants, so either wait for a spot or park in the lot along the side. My dad's birthday is coming up, so we'll be stopping by again soon.

Our search for a carby meal brought us to this place. The first thing that sets this place apart is its gigantic menu that's overwhelming to both hold and choose. In hindsight, we should take that as a hint of things to come as the theme for tonight's dinner is "BIG".All of their pasta dishes come with a side of garlic bread. We went with the Linguini Vangole in white sauce. The portion was massive! The pasta was covered in a generous amount of clams, both with and without shells. I also loved how garlicky it was. My breath definitely stunk through the following day. The garlic bread was very toasty and buttery.We also ordered the Greek-American pizza. This thick crust pizza was a meat lover's heaven as it was filled to the brim with salami, pepperoni, Italian sausage and thick bacon. Our 10" small size was enough to feed 2 people for 2 meals.I would give Rainbow Pizza 5 stars if purely based on the food itself. However, we waited over half an hour for the pizza and nearly an hour for the pasta. I understand that we came during peak dinner time but a restaurant should have this figured out after being in the business for decades. For that, I hate to do this but, I had to dock one star. I think waiting 1 hour for a dish was a bit too excessive.As I wrote at the top of this review, everything about this place was big: big menu, big portions, big wait time. Despite of that, we will definitely be coming back soon to try some of their other dishes in the Dinner and Greek sections. I look forward to giving them 5 stars soon!

Hadn't visited in a LONG time and finally made a trip out here on a cold Sunday night. We were seated right away and the restaurant was about half full. My daughter and I both ordered the Greek lasagna, or aka pastitsio along with some calamari. The food was good. Not great. Not bad. Calamari came out warm, not hot unfortunately. I don't know if they removed or added something. Or maybe I never noticed before, but this place is LOUD. Overall it was nice to return, but sadly I don't think I'll be back anytime soon.
