It's hard to get anything under $10 these days, but their BBQ pork Bahn Mi at $7.60 is so worth it!I walked into this grab-and-go Vietnamese eatery and asked the lady what's their most popular Banh Mi. She answered, "#1 (Combination), #13 (BBQ pork) and #14 (BBQ chicken)," then told me to look at their menu outside. (Little did she know, weeks ago, I looked & waited for them to reopen after their vacation since I've read their Yelp reviews; )While I was there, they had calls for orders to pick up, so I think they have many regulars at this no-nonsense shop. There's no place to sit. It's an order-and-get-out kinda place, but your tummy will thank you for the warm crispy breaded stacked sandwich when you do eat it! I'll be back to try their other offerings!

Solid Banh mi for sub $10. Nothing groundbreaking or inventive going on here. Fast Banh Mi, cash only, in & out in sub 5 minutes. Can't speak for anything other than their sandwiches tho...

We love this place as it's ran by amazing friendly and family oriented people. We love coming here because we love the interaction while waiting and watching them lovingly put ingredients together and making one of the best sandwiches your mouth can ever munch upon! They have Vietnamese sandwiches, rolls, shrimp cakes, chicken wings, etc and drinks! We love you Vivian, Amy, and Jimson!

Quick, delicious bite.I got the banh mi thịt nướng; the pork was juicy and well-marinated (was slightly sweet), and the banh mi had the perfect balance between soft and crunchy. It was also toasted and served warm! I would've appreciated the veggies and meat being spread out more, but overall, honestly one of the better banh mi I've had. $7.60 is such a great deal too, and the ladies were friendly. Bring cash!!

Great strong coffee. The Ban Mi was crunchy , the vegetables are fresh. There is a lot of selection of meats. They make the sandwich fast. It is a nice hole in the wall. The price is friendly.

Fast service and food are delicious. Small shop has no sit-in, just the store front. Friendly staff and fast prep, been there customer for more than 10 years, totally recommended for fast Vietnamese food and their sandwiches are amazing.

Even though I lag on posting pretty much every single one of my reviews, I have to admit this one is ridiculously belated even for me. I mean, it's been eight years since they moved here from next door and changed their name (they used to be called Irving Cafe & Deli) and I'm just writing this now. Plus, it's not like I haven't been coming here that entire time - you really think I'd go that long without getting my regular banh mi fixes from one of my favorite spots around??Compared to their old digs, Que Huong's current home is definitely a bit larger, though they've been blocking their door with a table to order/pick up from ever since the start of COVID. Similarly, while they already had a surprisingly extensive slate of offerings before, their menu has only grown ever since they moved. Now, you can choose from nearly two dozen types of banh mis, as well as from an array of vermicelli noodles, steamed rice noodles, rice plates, noodle soups, desserts, and drinks. Huh. After typing all of that out and looking at the photos of their menu on my phone, I feel kind of dumb for never trying anything other than their banh mis...whoops!-- (#1) BANH MI DAC BIET - Combination Pork Sandwich...$7.25(https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/que-huong-vietnamese-deli-san-francisco-2?select=M20mnAjTymja8L-Y9cPuuA)It's not my favorite sandwich here, but this is pretty solid. Not only does everything blend together well, but there's a generous amount of meat, including pate, and the fancy pork they use, in particular, tastes pretty good.-- (#4) BANH MI THIT KHO - Roast Pork Sandwich...$6.50(https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/que-huong-vietnamese-deli-san-francisco-2?select=je4N1ZXvqDga3cK4wrf8Mg)I like this one for the most part, but, depending on the day, this could either be great or just okay. While they usually do a good job of mixing in lean pieces with slightly fatty ones, there were a couple of times where I bit into straight up chunks of fat.-- (#13) BANH MI THIT NUONG - BBQ Pork Sandwich...$6.50(https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/que-huong-vietnamese-deli-san-francisco-2?select=8Rm40vT_4BRbJSxiWJ7p_A)Generally speaking, this is one of my go-to orders. The pork packs a nice bit of BBQ flavor to it and doesn't taste all that oily/greasy. Yet, at the same time, it's still rather juicy to the bite.-- (#14) BANH MI GA NUONG - Panfried BBQ Chicken Sandwich...$6.50(https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/que-huong-vietnamese-deli-san-francisco-2?select=8YTfU5NFoL7Nw54l7nyYqw)It's been a while since I've had this one (I've been getting the BBQ Pork a lot lately), but this is my other regular order. The chicken is well seasoned, has a nice bit of char flavor on the outside, and is quite moist on the inside.Beyond how the sandwiches taste though, the other thing I really like about Que Huong is how they'll happily add jalapenos to your sandwich for free (they won't offer, though, so you'll have to ask). Seemingly not that big of a deal, but it's noteworthy considering how a lot of other banh mi shops that I've been to will charge $.25 to $.50 for it. Plus, the workers here are all super friendly and do a great job of turning around orders as soon as possible.Despite how my trips to Que Huong haven't been all that dissimilar from when they were Irving Cafe & Deli, I'm rounding down from FOUR AND A HALF STARS. While the food here is still terrific, it's admittedly not quite as good as it used to be. Mostly, I just miss the bread they used to use, as the one they use now is a little too flaky/crusty/dry for my liking. Still, it's not like I'm about to replace them as my go to-spot for my banh mi cravings. Sure, the gap between them and places like the famed Saigon Sandwich has narrowed, especially with the way the prices here have crept up, but I'd be willing to pay even more here just to avoid having to go down to the (not so tender) Tenderloin.

I went here to pick up a quick lunch for my bf and the service was good! Since this place was cash only, I told them my order in advanced and they let me come back and pay. My order took less than 10 mins to prepare.Iced Vietnamese Coffee (Cafe Sua Da) - 3.5/5- coffee was stronggg, but i liked it! definitely get the caffeine kick with a hint of sweetnessBBQ Pork Banh Mi (#13) - 4/5- i really like the bread here. it's soft on the inside and crispy on the outside and not too thick as well. there were a good amount of toppings and meat. they make it fresh as well so everything was warm. you may ask for jalapeños in it, but i decided to skip it this time. For $12.50 in total, I think this was a solid meal! I would definitely try to come back to try other menu items.

What happened to this place? This used to be my go-to spot for 20 years, but today was like stepping into a culinary time machine--one that took a wrong turn somewhere. We ordered the combo banh mi, #68 combination rice rolls, egg rolls and Vietnamese coffee.First off, the banh mi bread isn't the same (and yes, I can tell, my taste buds have a PhD). They used to toss in jalapeños or at least ask if you wanted to burn your taste buds off--now, it's just bland bread. And what's up with the flavorless pate? It used to have that delightful stench that made you question your life choices, but not anymore. But wait, it wasn't all doom and gloom. The #68 combo was bomb--no complaints there. The rice rolls were so fresh, they probably had a morning workout. And the cafe sua da? To die for--so strong it might just jumpstart your heart.Oh, and the fried egg rolls? Still crispy, perfectly fried, and filled with actual meat--thank goodness some things don't change.Overall, other than the disappointing banh mi, I'm still impressed, but today just wasn't the same. Come on, guys, bring back the old magic!
