Realistically a 3.5/5. Came here for Valentine's Day and it was good! We had reservations at 6:30, but came at 5:30 to see if they could seat us and they were actually able to! The hostess and waitress were both very nice & lovely. What I didn't really like was them telling every table when getting seated that they're putting a 1 hour limit since it was Valentine's Day. It just felt distasteful but we also didn't feel rushed out. I think it started getting really crowded around 6:30. The tables were also very close together, I think they tried to stuff as many tables as they could since it was Valentine's Day. There wasn't a lot of room in between tables to even go to the restroom. We were seated near the entrance as well so I had people bumping into my chair whenever they came in. We ordered the Gambas Al Ajillo, Paella and the short ribs.Gambas Al Ajillo: good flavor, a little spicy/sour but was just a little bit too salty. Paella: This was really good, but not the best i've had. I still prefer the paella from Picaro. There was a lot of toppings but I feel like there wasn't enough rice. Short Ribs: These were good, but I feel like it was expensive for what you got. It came with potato wedges and mixed veggies. Some of the meat was also a little bit tough, but the other pieces melted in your mouth. Overall, I would come back! Staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was good.

We celebrated our late annual Christmas get together lunch here. Here's what we ordered:Napa Cabbage Salad - Decent.Pulpo Sampler Plate - Presented beautifully. I enjoyed the fried calamari, the grilled shrimp, squid and potatoes okay with the accompanying sauces, the baguette with mushroom spread, good, the empanadas had a veggie filling, I was expecting a meat filling.Gambas al ajillo - Delicious especially the sauce which was rich and creamy, served on baguettes.Arroz Valenciana - Excited to try this but it was a bit salty and too lemony. I've had better but to be honest, the ones I tasted were in Spain so I'm being too biased here. Red Sangrias - Couldn't finish so my companions happily refilled their glasses with mine. The menu was very pricey; we paid $76 each for the 3 of us. Took our sweet time even after they closed for lunch. Didn't rush us to leave. Prompt and friendly service.

It was a spontaneous dinner night out with the girls and we were all available, so we like, Monday Who?! We immediately ordered a bunch of dishes to share- olives, paella, fettuccine, bravas patatas with chipotle aioli, and mushroom flatbread. We ordered two bottles of red and we went to town! My favorites were the potatoes with chipotle aioli and the flatbread. We ordered two desserts- churros and toffee pudding and they were both amazingly yummy! The service was great and friendly. The ambience is beautiful and cozy- perfect for date nights. We overstayed our welcome and left way past the closing hour of 9pm but they were so nice and accommodating- they didn't act like they wanted us to leave. Five women, two bottles of wine and dishes to share came out to $66 a person including 20 percent tip! The food was excellent and I'd definitely return!

Came here for the first time while visiting my friend in Burlingame. We sat outside under the heat lamps so her dog could sit outside with us. We shared several appetizers: burrata, bruschetta, pulpo, and empanadas (one cheese & one pollo). I had the peach sangria and she had Pinot noir. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding. Everything we ordered was delicious. If the review was solely for the food, I'd give 5 stars. While the food was 5 stars, unfortunately we couldn't say the same about the service. the server took a long time to take our order. Also, we had to remind them a few times to bring some our items - pulpo and my friend's wine - because they didn't come with our other dishes and my sangria. However, the restaurant seemed short staffed. Yesterday was likely an off night, as my friend has dined at Pulpo before and said service was not usually this slow. While I live too far to be a regular, I'd definitely come back if in the area. If the service is better on my next visit, I'll update my review to 5 stars.

Vibes: 4/5 came here on an evening not knowing there was live music. It was way too loud inside to hear each other and a little cold on the outside, still a worth experience just wish the singer wasn't so loud!Service: 5/5, very friendly and attentive serverFood: 10/5 pulpo! Probably the best I've ever had. The paella was just okay in comparison to teleferic Barcelona. The food seems to be a fusion and less of the basic Spanish foods.

Great little gem with fun ambiance and good services. The foods were great, loved the mushrooms bruschetta, very earthy and tasty. The famous paella was loaded with lots of proteins. The sea bass was charred well and the hint of lemon brought out the freshness. They gave us free desserts for the birthday girl. Absolutely a mush try place.

We arrived on the Friday night. The place was quite busy, but they still have tables outside, which was what we wanted. We waited quite a bit for the waiter to come to get the order, and I had to go and find somebody to order myself. The food arrived pretty late and the baby was restless. We ordered mushroom flatbread for the baby, paella and chicken parmesan. The flatbread was pretty delicious, and it was the first time I saw the baby actually trying mushroom, which shows how great they are. Paella was quite pricey, but it wasn't too much food. I was pretty disappointed. The pasta on chicken parmesan was delicious, but the chicken itself was overcooked.Overall, the food and service both are pretty average. But I have a feeling I will go there again. The outside sitting was very European, and the food was not great, but was not bad either. The staff was very very nice, and I feel the service issues was because they were busy.

Pulpo Restaurant & Wine Bar is a Spanish restaurant that opened in 2023 and I was pretty impressed with my most recent visit here during lunch. It's located in Broadway in Burlingame so it's not as big of a pain going here compared to downtown, but you still need to pay for parking. Service isn't the most communicative, but friendly overall. It wasn't busy at all during weekday lunch hours.Their menu is impressive especially with the lunch specials they offer. On Mon-Fri they offer a 3 Course Lunch Special from 11am - 2pm for $20 per person. What I ordered:3 Course Lunch Special- Soup of the Day- Atlantic King Salmon- Salted Caramel GelatoYou can't go wrong with the soup or salad because they are both decent portions and the soup of the day is different, but it was tasty. The headliner of course is the Atlantic King Salmon and I will say it is not the largest portion and this is more of a quality over quantity situation. I was with someone else who also ordered basically the same items as me and they basically took one salmon fillet and split it in half for both of us. For the price and it being 3 courses though it is hard to complain. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Not undercooked or overcooked while also being well seasoned. They give a good serving of mashed potatoes, zucchini, squash, broccoli, and cherry tomatoes. The mango salso also elevates the dish quite a bit.Who doesn't love Gelato? Finishing off your meal with a salted caramel gelato. The other options were also chocolate, vanilla, or sorbet. They were generous with the salted aspect, but it was nice sweet and creamy flavor. I feel like coming here for the lunch special is a great bang for your buck and overall this is a solid restaurant with well presented food. The ambiance of being in a restaurant with a wine bar makes it a comfortable dining experience. I would definitely make a return eventually.

I had been here several times and enjoyed the service and food and drink. Somehow when I went specific Sat nite - it was all just OK. It was a bit disappointing. Service , food , and red sangria all were just ok. It took a long time for anyone to talk to us when we got the bar seats- no eye contact and everyone just walking by us and no one asking us anything. It was busy I have to admit and they told later they were short on staff. I'll have to rethink about coming here again - it was nice and good before so felt like a letdown to specifically come by and just felt disappointed.
