Pizza Express

Cortland Ave is not a destination for late night, so I was grateful to find Pizza Express this Monday evening, almost home and reluctant to trek down to Mission.They were open at 9:35, the staff were welcome to have me, and the pizza was truly express, done in 10-12 minutes while I waited. As others have mentioned, this is a longstanding, neighborhood small business, and I appreciated the prompt, no frills service, especially when I just wanted to eat.Arriving home I had modest expectations for taste and was happily surprised. Mediterranean Special - UPVOTE. Lots of veggies, delicious artichoke hearts (a fave of mine), legit sundried tomatoes. Great pie.Thanks Pizza Express! I'll be back!

I've been ordering from this place for the last 8 to 9 years. It's always been good. last few times including last night I was sent a warmed over pizza that was burned, the cheese was congealed and the crust was hard. I'm old enough to know what a reheated old pizza looks like. Heres a few pictures. They sent a fresh one which was good. I am not gonna order from this joint anymore.

Pizza Express is just what this is. The place to get a slice on the go. Service is good and the place is small. Give it a try if you are near by.

I was working 3 minutes away and knew that there was a familiar pizza joint in the Bernal heights neighborhood. I had never been here in person, but I used to work somewhere that ordered from here often back in 2018.As I sat waiting for my large pizza to be ready, I had some banter with the workers. They said that they have been the same owners for over 40 years now. With that said, I knew that I was gonna be biting into a good pizza pie. I wasn't the only one that was making small talk with the staff. A few others that came to pick up their orders were having the same relaxed conversation about the pizza and their everyday life as if they were long time friends catching up. You gotta love it, this business is clearly ran on quality food, service and respect from the community. Now for the pizza.. I was trying to share with 2 other people so a large was just enough to get the job done. Plenty hot and full of flavor. Lastly, the ambiance was that of a classic old school pizza joint. Strictly business with a couple of tables. I'm glad this place survived the pandemic and hope they stay in business for another 40 years.

My new favorite pizza spot. I'm a San Francisco native and have had the same favorite pizza spot for over 20 years. But I have to say I love this place. The pizza is great. The service is great. I've tried multiple pies and they have all been amazing. And to find out that this place is also owned and operated by a San Francisco native makes it even better. Don't walk run to go get pizza from Pizza express!

Pizza is always so yummy! Delivery is fast and efficient. Great pizza for a great price. Nice to support neighborhood businesses!

Had the Cortland pizza & it was delicious!! The pesto is perfection. May not be Tony's, but definitely would get another pie if I was in the neighborhood.

Wow, great pizza - their large 18" was gigantic and packed! It was good and full of toppings! Delivery was fast - on time to Barebottle right down the street! It worked out well! We got takeout from the restaurant, and it is a very cute neighborhood! I would stop by again! It is tucked away like a treasure chest in the heart of SF.

One of my favorite places to go for a late night snack service there is amazing. They are very attentive to your questions and delivering on your expectations. Besides that they make any changes necessary to make your visit and enjoyable one friendly staff always there to to greet smile and be helpful. Ambience can be really crowded later at night, but what do you expect and other times it's mediocre as far as the crowd in there the music is at a reasonable level just a great place to love this place.

So it's been 30mins since I told the pizza girl to have the owner call me regarding my wrong order....no return call so I decided to post it. Dont order from here. They burned the bottom of my pizza and got my order wrong more than once. Today, with my pizza, I ordered cheese bread and the girl who took my order told me the receipt said garlic bread. The crazy thing is when she took my order she told me to hold on so she can add the cheese bread. But when I got my order it was not cheese bread but garlic bread. So I called back to let them know so they can send me my cheese bread. Simple fix right? Well no! She told me that THE OWNER said they cant send me my cheese bread because I already got it. Got what? I got what I DID NOT order. I told her I'd be happy to give the driver the garlic bread I DID NOT ORDER back. Not an easy fix. Customer service is horrible. They dont want to fix the wrong order instead she said driver cant return.DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! Customer service sucks! When they mess up yr order they will tell you their driver cant return with the correct order because they busy but instead you will have to come pick it up. WTH! Yup that's how they fix the situation and treat their customers. Im not ordering from them ever again. I WAS a regular customer. I'm going elsewhere and so should you. STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY!
