I haven't been here in forever but it was better than I remembered! They added some fresh herbs (lemon leaf?) that really elevate the dish. Eat this with the pickled garlic and it's a flavor explosion in your mouth. And the owner was super nice. Saw that they got dry pho too which looked good. Will try next time.

Staff were pleasant. But strange smell inside the restaurant took away from any fragrance the pho might have had. unfortunately, there wasn't any genuine pho aroma from the soup (beef broth with tendon and beef ball). Soup wasn't rich or interesting. Very lackluster. Noodles and ginger was good but didn't feel anything else was good.Perplexed as to why there are so many positive reviews. Definitely will not return

Let's get right to the point the food is amazing I mean absolutely amazing. It is northern Vietnamese food, which I'll admit I didn't know, but it makes sense that there would be a difference just like there's a difference in Italian food from the northern area to the southern. The Beef Stew, and the Pho Combo are what I've had so far and both are home runs out the park great! It's family owned and operated and the Service is very good and very friendly. They've done a great job with the decor and the establishment is clean. All that said, this is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the city!

Stopped here on a rainy day, ordered the beef pho with 3 meats (everything minus tripe) and the chicken pho with dark & light meat. The beef pho had great broth, and the meat was a bit tough but flavor was good. The chicken pho broth was great, and the flat rice noodles were perfect. Chicken portion could've been a bit more generous since I ordered a Large, and some of the pieces were very chewy. Flavor wise, this spot is great! Some downsides, we asked for water & tea in the beginning when ordering and it did not come. There was also a hair in the chicken pho, but we were able to scoop it out.

Thoroughly enjoyed this style of pho!! Had just the right amount of add ins (loved the thinly sliced ginger) and had unlimited pickled garlic at the table. Service can be slow but it's a great small restaurant to support. Will come back.

This was my first time having northern-style Pho, and I liked how refrehing it was - got the special beef pho, and I liked the lemongrass / ginger (?) garnish on top. The lime wedge also added a nice zest. It wasn't too oily which is a plus. I will say, I think I prefer the thin noodles over the flat ones and the beansprouts in southern-style pho - but glad I came here to try it out. I came on a sleepy day so service was pretty fast and the interior is quite big and spacious.

My fiancé loves northern-style pho, but it's hard to find in the city. Luckily, we came across this place. While I'm not usually a fan of northern pho, I thought this spot was pretty good--definitely better than Turtle Tower, which used to be across the street before it closed. The pho here comes with a generous amount of fresh herbs that add great flavor, and you can customize it with pickled garlic and peppers. Just a heads-up, there's no hoisin sauce on the table. The chicken pho had a clean, flavorful broth and a decent amount of chicken, while my fiancé's beef pho was also quite good. My favorite part was the fresh herbs on top of each bowl. The only downside is the price--it's on the higher side for pho, especially considering the portion size. That said, I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area or if my fiancé is craving northern-style pho.

Really delicious! I was highly recommended this place by a friend, and finally made a visit out. Service is super friendly; seems like an older couple mainly running the place. Pretty large restaurant, but still surprisingly full at 2 PM on a weekend. I imagine the lunch rush might be pretty bad.We got a chicken and a beef pho. The chicken pho broth is quite light, with a strong lemongrass flavor. Super enjoyable, but you must like lemongrass. The chicken is not as tender as I hoped, but still yummy. The beef pho broth is much more herbal, with a taste of cinnamon. Pretty different than other pho broths I've had! The beef is super tender and yummy, and the chunks of tendon are soft but not mushy too. There's also pickled garlic on the table for you to add as much as you want; so delicious!!

I do love northern style pho - after Turtle Tower closed, this spot really settled that craving. The chicken pho was warm and comforting for lunch. Servers were lovely. Crab egg roll delicious. Also loved the pickled garlic.

I heard great things about this place as one of the best pho restaurants in SF, so I was really excited to try it. The place wasn't busy at all during a weeknight, so it was easy getting a table. Food also came out super fast. While this pho place is probably one of the better ones I've tried in the city in terms of quality broths, I just would've wished it had a bit more noodles & meat since we paid around $18 before tax for our pho. There was also an incident where halfway through one of the bowls, I found multiple pieces of tiny plastic in my food. The owner ended up giving us a 50% off for that bowl, which was nice but that and the price-to-quality ratio does make me a bit wary to go back again.
