Pho & Bun, as the name suggests, is all about those noodles! The food here is simple in its components but executed exceptionally. Clean but flavorful soup, delicious fresh meats, and bouncy noodles all put together to give you that warm feeling in your belly.Located in a tiny strip mall shared by other local service providers and eateries, the private lot is relatively busy but has plenty of space for patrons coming in and out. The shop is pretty small so you may want to limit your party size or split up. Perhaps you could consider taking a to-go order but I highly recommend basking in the ambiance during meal service. There are decorations laden up above and along the walls to elevate your dining experience. The seating arrangements can be a bit tight if you're set in the back toward the bathroom but it wasn't too noticeable in our last visit. Plus the staff are welcoming, patient, and efficient in their work which makes for a very positive feeling regardless of where you're situated.Their menu is quite simple - you have appetizers, drinks, pho (soup noodles) and bun (vermicelli). We ended up ordering a couple of the house special pho meals (number one) that come with an assortment of meats in addition to a couple of giant beef ribs on the side. This meal is totally shareable, or if you're extremely eager and ambitious, very filling for one person. The soup is fantastic - plenty of flavor without the fat or oil. It was so clean, it's transparent as you sift through your bowl. The meats were delicious. Thinly sliced flank cooked quickly in the hot soup and perfectly sized for dipping in the sriracha and oyster sauce that is self-served at the table.Much like other pho places, the meal comes with a side of bean sprouts, basil leaves, jalapeños, and a lemon for you to garnish your bowl. It was a good portion!I also ordered an iced Vietnamese coffee and it was good. Definitely meets the standard from my perspective, although nothing spectacular. For what you get, it's a bit expensive but that's South Bay for you, I guess. After your meal, you pay in the front near the kitchen. They offer a cash discount which is transparent on their menu before you order. It's quite significant for larger meals (the savings pretty much paid for my drink). They also accept credit and debit but cash is the preferred option.Overall, Pho & Bun excels in what they serve best, pho and bun dishes, and proportion to the amount of food you get, offers great value. The service was quick yet the atmosphere exhibited a serene calm throughout the meal; there was no flurry around the shop to flip tables but they had a constant churn of customers. If you're in the mood for some soup, noodles, or meat, Pho & Bun has you covered with one item and you'll be full, that is until your next meal!

I tried Pho & Bun for the first time on a Saturday night around 7 pm with a party of three adults. The restaurant wasn't too busy, which made for a relaxing experience. We ordered spring rolls, Bun Bo Hue, Pho Dac Biet, and Pho Tai, Bo Vien with extra noodles. Each pho came with a generous serving of lime, bean sprouts, and cabbage, which was a nice touch. The Bun Bo Hue stood out to me, especially since it wasn't as spicy as I expected, but the rich, savory soup base was delicious. The noodles for the Bun Bo Hue were cylinder-shaped, adding a unique texture compared to the traditional pho noodles. In terms of flavor, Bun Bo Hue was the star of the meal, more robust and complex than the other two pho dishes. My husband and son enjoyed their pho, but the flavors felt more typical, like those at other pho spots. The spring rolls were also good, though they didn't stand out from those at other pho places. One perk: If you pay with cash, there's a 10% discount, a nice little bonus!

I got there around 6:15p on a Friday and the restaurant was empty except for one table. I picked the restaurant based on the yelp reviews. I already knew what I was going to order #1 and #11 because of the reviews. I guess I should Have read the menu more carefully.#1 was the special soup noodles. All the reviews raved about the grilled rib on the side. The noodles came pretty fast but no ribs on the side. I finally had to ask and it turned out they have updated their menu. They have substituted the grilled rib with wagyu beef in the soup noodles. If I had known, I may have tried something else. My bad for not reading the menu. Both #1 and #11 was tasty. #11 is supposed to be spicy but it really was not. Between the two, we both preferred the soup base of #1 better. The server was nice and service was good. They still have the 15% cash discount btw.

We visited Pho & Bun with a party of 4 on a Saturday at 12:30. The restaurant was fairly busy (and not too big) so you might want to visit outside of busy hours if you want to get seated right away. Parking was easy since it was in a plaza. I ordered the Mi Ga Quay Kho. The fried chicken was extremely crispy, but not dry! I think they use fish sauce to marinade the chicken. It was super tasty. The egg noodles that came with this dish was really bouncy (which I enjoyed). The only critique I have was that the noodles tasted under seasoned. Maybe some additional sauce on the side would do this dish justice. My wife ordered the Bun Bo Hue. I thought that the soup was pretty good and ended up drinking most of it. However, I was expecting something more spicy. It was also missing some of the more traditional additions like pig's blood. I think that Pho & Bun adjusted this dish so that it would appeal to a wider audience, but Bun Bo Hue lovers might find themselves a bit disappointed when compared to other restaurants in the Bay Area.We also got the Shrimp Spring Rolls. I thought these were okay. They were well wrapped with standard ingredients. Nothing special, but no complaints.

Mid level Viet pho place in an area with better restaurants. We started off with egg rolls, they were okay. The cabbage was really mushy like a consistency of mashed potatoes, it was really unsatisfying. The mains we had the specials Pho Dac Biet and Bun Bo Hue. The Pho was pretty good but the ribs didn't appeared to be BBQ and actually looks like it was stewed for the pho broth. Overall pretty good. The bun broth was not spicy at all and the biggest issue was the absent pork blood that is an automatic foul if your BBH is missing it!Service was great, pricing was also a bit high but you can pay in cash for 15% which makes it's reasonable. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're a local and need a decent quick meal.

The owner is nice and friendly! I got the Bun Bo Hue. Good flavor, add your own spice to your bowl with the fresh ground chilis. Though, this time, I felt like like the bowl was a bit light on the meats and noodle.Vietnamese Ice Coffee (3.5/5). Good strong flavor with that carmel/molasses flavor.

I was in the area and wanted to try this spot out. The place is small, but that's all you need. Everyone there is attentive and hella nice. There is a cash discount vs card, so bring cash. I decided to just get rolls and regular pho. The broth was smackin, it was perfect. It was really good. As others said, it wasnt too hot, but still really good. The spring rolls are good as well, you can tell these werent sitting in a fridge for hella long lol.If I dont want to go too far into Milpitas/SJ, this spot is really good.

Came here with a friend after a day of climbing- definitely wanted something warm after a long day in the cold. Server was friendly, menu was simple, food came quickly. There were plenty of empty tables around 5:40 pm on Saturday evening.

Went back because I love this business. As per my last review I complained that soup wasn't as hot as it should be since the cabbage would cool it down significantly. But this time that wasn't the case! Happy to have my soup still somewhat hot even after I put the cabbage in. I left with an empty bowl.
