This is one of the best Vietnamese spots I've tried in SF. Conveniently located next to Golden Gate Park, it's the perfect cozy spot to warm up after walking through the cold with a hot bowl of pho or their indulgent garlic noodles. I ordered the #7 Rare Beef and Brisket Pho and the Imperial Rolls. The pho really hit the spot on a cold day: the soup was hot and fragrant, the noodles were delightfully bouncy, and the beef was so tender. The imperial rolls here are also out of this world. They were freshly fried and paired so well with the crunchy lettuce, cucumber, mint, and sauce on the side. Arguably...lifechanging? Really big portions for a great price as well. While I didn't get their garlic noodles this time around, I've tried the Haight Street location for takeout and the garlic noodles are truly amazing. So chewy and buttery and fragrant and tasted great with the five spice chicken. I saw people around me at this Irving location order garlic noodles and the portion size was huge, like an entire mountain of noodles on a plate. Service was quick and waiters were extremely friendly. There's a reason there's more than one Perilla location in SF - it's that good. Would definitely recommend!

We had dinner here a couple weeks ago on an early Sunday evening. Lucky to get here early to beat the dinner crowd! :0)Perilla consistently delivers delicious appetizers and entrees with fantastic, friendly, fast and attentive service! We had the Shrimp Springroll Appetizer (3 rolls cut into 6 pieces), my FAV Chicken Curry with Pho replacing the Vermicelli, Grilled Shrimp with Garlic Noodles and Pork with Garlic Noodles. Prices are truly reasonable for San Francisco and portions are huge! Soups are always served piping hot! It's my Go To ESP on cold days/nights is the city! Thank you again for our delicious dinner!

It's been 10+ years since my last review here - time for an update! I've been to Perilla numerous times since then, especially over the last few years. It's a great solid spot in the Inner Sunset neighborhood when I want something yummy, filling, and affordable. My go-to here is now usually the Pho Tai (pho with rare beef) - it's simple and delicious. The pho broth is savory and satisfying to drink, not overly salty; I can actually finish the entire bowl of soup without feeling terribly thirsty afterwards. Other items I'd get again:+ Spring rolls: lots of veggies, fresh+ Vermicelli with Imperial egg rolls and five spice chicken: really good! The Charbroiled Pork vermicelli is also a solid option+ Vietnamese coffeeI'm still not a fan of the garlic noodle plates - the garlic noodles aren't garlicky enough and the broccoli is usually too crunchy for me. This is a popular spot and usually bustling even on weekday nights, but service is usually pretty quick.

I stepped into Perilla, and oh, what a treat! The smells and the sights swept me right off my feet. The garlic! The noodles! The flavors galore! Each bite made me smile and left me wanting more. The noodles were twirly, so garlicky and great,I'd eat them at noon, I'd eat them at eight!I'd eat them with friends, I'd eat them alone,I'd eat them at Perilla or take them back home! The staff was so friendly, they made me feel grand,Like I'd walked into flavorland, hand in hand.So if you love food that's a true masterpiece,Go visit Perilla--your cravings will cease!

What we ordered: - Beef Garlic Noodles- Garlic Noodle Bowl- Grilled Pork Rolls- Chicken Vermicelli BowlI've never ate at Perilla before but have walked past it many time. I really loved the beef from the garlic noodles, it was super tender and flavorful! The chicken from the vermicelli bowl is super good as well. I'm not a huge fan of garlic noodles so I wasn't a huge fan of it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. What a FIVE star day! Both meals & experiences today were five stars!Quality/Quantity - #13 Imperial Rolls, Cha Gio - Fried perfectly and to order. So good that we had to order another dish for our guest, then we insisted on her taking the leftovers home.#1 Perilla Beef Combo Pho - My daughter's order (1 of 2). The broth was so good. You can taste the difference when a business makes their broth correctly - cooking it for hours and hours.#12 Shredded Chicken Pho, Pho Ga - Basically chicken noodle soup. All was good, but I enjoyed the beef broth better.#21 Five Spice Chicken Garlic Noodles - My dish, and in my opinion, the best dish. See my extra picture of the HUGE crispy chicken thighs.#37 Imperial Rolls & Pork Vermicelli, Bun Cha GioBo Nuong - My daughter's 2nd order, but my wife finished it instead, as this had a lot of lettuce in it. This is my usual order, but when I see garlic noodles on the menu...Atmosphere - Small local business; got lucky and got the last table. When did you San Fransicans eat so early...? Back in the day, dinner was NOT until 7 or 8pm... Or am I just too young and hip?Restrooms in the very back, past the kitchen which we did not use it.Metered street parking, but today is a holiday so it was no problem and it was FREE.Open 6 days a week from 11am to 9pm, closed Tuesdays. Service - 5 stars. So professional and such a positive "can do" attitude. All I heard was "yes, no problem, happy to, etc." from the waiter.Price - $72 + I am sure a generous tip. My wife/guest paid as I was told to get the car.Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2011. My wife reminded me that we used to come here often pre Yelp life. Look forward to continuing to come back often. Is the location on Haight SF yours also?

A step up in simple quality and ingredients for traditional Vietnamese fare and pho without the step-up in price. Perilla has in four months become our go-to for delivery and takeout for pho, imperial rolls, five-spice chicken, and garlic noodles in the neighborhood. Special mention: while the rare beef pho is delightful, we both really like the chicken pho (pho ga) in it's simplicity and heartiness (especially during the colder winter days), and recommend look at the fun mixed dishes where you can bundle imperial rolls, Perilla's spot-on garlic noodles, and grilled beef or five-spice chicken. Very good service and great management.
