Great hand held snack! Peasant Pies has been around since the 90s so we were excited to finally try it. I tried the savory ham, egg, and cheese pie and loved it. Perfect breakfast and it was only $5 and some change. Great deal, especially for the area. Staff was so friendly and you can tell they really care about their business! They do catering as well :)

My sister ordered a bunch for breakfast/lunch time. We had the chicken, beef, spinach and cheese, curry, and another one that I forgot. I liked the beef one the best, reminded me of a empanada. There were plenty of meat stuffed in the little thing. Throw a little hot sauce on it too!

Peasant Pies is an easily overlooked gem in SF; they serve up delicious handpies, heated to order to a perfectly toasty warm on the go meal, or served in adorable baskets to eat in. They also serve coffees, pastries, sweet fruit tarts, salads, and a plethora of chilled drinks in the fridges. But the star is definitely the handpies, of which there are some standard breakfasty ones with egg, and other savories pies, with a rotating seasonal choice. Some of my personal favorites are the spinach feta and cheese, zucchini and mushroom, ham egg and cheese pies. The chicken pie is also good, though a little dry, and I found the beef & potato pie to be a little too salty. The baby clam and tomato pie is their signature, but didn't have much clam and somehow tasted more like a calzone. Definitely recommend peasant pies if you're looking for a quick small meal!

I got three pies for takeout to bake for breakfast the next day and they were delicious. I stopped by around 3p on a weekday and they still had plenty of options in stock except for the seasonal pumpkin pecan. I would highly recommend the egg, sausage, and potato one. The pies are stuffed with a generous amount of filling and the crust was very tasty and held together well as a handpie. My partner really enjoyed the egg, ham and cheese pie. We're saving the apple crumble one for later but I'm sure it's just as good. There's plenty of seating inside to eat and get some work done. Service was very fast and they give you the option of heating up pies to eat right away or keeping them could to keep for later. I'll definitely be back to try more flavors.

I saw this place on my way to an appointment and thought it looked like a cute, mom 'n pop. Stopped by and it is nice inside. There were several people who were taking advantage of the warm vibe, indoor seating area that seemed comfortable and clean. I suppose seeing the menu or maybe the side area full of premade salads and drinks made something in my mind clicked that maybe this is a quick grab-n-go cafe. But I was already in line and so I asked for the best meat pie. The cashier didn't recommend their special, but just the beef or chicken meat pie. Alrighty! I noticed it had tomato sauce in the filling and I was kind of hoping for a savory, juicy beef pie like the one I make at home with mushrooms and veggies. The pie came out, small, was wrapped neatly in compostable packaging and promptly given to me. I was still unconvinced this was going to be an amazing experience so I asked for hot sauce and thankfully they had some available. And yeup. Just as expected. The meat pie was OK but nothing to rave about. I kind of feel bad writing this review because a lot of people enjoyed it. And the workers were fast and efficient and the place was clean with plenty of seating. I did appreciate that it was only $5.75 which is decently priced. It may not be gourmet, but at least you aren't spending $20. It was fast (around 10-11am on a weekday). But I'm giving this location a 3/5 because the food was edible, but I would not return. However, as I ate my meat pie, a nasty rock pigeon flew over. So ugly and gross. It's been conditioned by the thousands of people stopping by. But I noticed it walked with a limp and hobbled in front of me, missing a toe. So I gave it a piece of my pie and wondered if the bird purposefully broke off its toe to win the sympathy card. It had the gall to hop on the bench next to me. I would pass on the pies unless you wanted something quick, affordable, and a place to comfortably sit.

Great service- depending on who's working they remember my name and order! The pies and soups are reasonably priced, and the coffee, while not great, is quick. Everything else is a bit expensive, and the pies aren't revolutionary, but they are good for the price.

I was looking for a place to cater our work event that also delivered. Peasant Pies was recommended to me. They have a couple of locations in San Francisco area. I believe I spoke to the manager of what I needed and they delivered. He was a great communicator and the delivery was on time and pies were still Hot.You can't tell the size of the pie by looking at pictures. I asked the manager and he was honest. He did not exaggerate. One was good for me but for other peoplewith bigger appetites two might be good. They had sweet and savory pies. My fave was the beef and potatoes and their version of a "chicken pot pie." I did order the chocolate pie. It was rich and it was delish! My co-workers ordered the blue berry pie and they loved it. In my opinion the pie is considered one serving but definitely shareable. I say the pies are good for a light lunch or snack. For some it might be a meal. But either way I liked it a lot! It is definitely affordable to buy two to three pies and you will not be disappointed! I recommend it 100%. Note: sorry no pictures of the savory pies. We ate them right away :). Also no comment on the Ambiance of the restaurant as we had our pies delivered.

The restaurant sign looked familiar to me and once inside, I realized I had those savory and sweet pies before many years ago; like 20 years ago but at a different location. The savory and sweet pies still taste the same. In the past, I always ordered one savory pie and one sweet pie because I was still hungry after eating a single pie. For me, it's more like a snack or super light meal. It was hard to find any clams in the seafood pie. I ordered the combo meal and a savory pie. The soup was creamy and tasted like a smoothie. All in all, the meal was ok.

Got a beef and potato pie :) it was really good and good size for a snack. I don't think one is enough for a meal. It came out to $6.14. The service was fast and friendly. I appreciated that they warmed the pie up. They have a lot of tables if you want to eat there.

Yummy handheld pies and reasonably priced. Join their rewards program for future discounts on next purchase. For my veggie and vegan folks, the lentil and garbanzo bean pies are delicious! My favorite dessert pies are blueberry, chocolate and apple crumb. A good place for a snack or a convenient meal.
