Nice spot serving authentic Puerto Rican food. Portions are large and service is friendly. The pernil was tender- decent on its own and better with their hot sauce. If you're craving Puerto Rican food, this place will hit the spot.

Cute little spot serving puerto rican food right by the panhandle! Perfect for a post run meal. Prices were reasonable and portions were big -- perfect for sharing. I really liked the shrimp entree (the sauce was delicious; loved the peppers and onions as well) as well as the sampler! Favorite bites were the fried chicken and the plantains. The plantains were really sweet and grilled nicely. The entree comes with salad, beans, rice, plantains, and the protein, so it's a super packed plate. Service was a bit on the slower side but super friendly, and I would recommend trying the sparkling coconut water :) Inside is pretty small and has mostly tables for 2-4.

Visited this restaurant with my friend recently and absolutely loved the food here!! We shared the Chicharrones de Pollo and Pollo Encebollado and both dishes were great. If I had to choose one to recommend, I would definitely go with the Pollo Encebollado since I felt like it had some more flavor and it was paired with caramelized onions. It wasn't too busy since we visited on a weekday so service was super quick. Ambiance was nice as well.

3.5/5 A cute Puerto Rican restaurant in Haight-Ashbury! The service is a bit slow and the waiter sometimes like to mess with you LOL. My friends and I came on a Sunday and we got seated immediately. I've tried the Sampler (4/5 this dish is HUGE and lots of flavorful meat) and the Bistec Sandwich (2/5 very dry and the steak is overdone).

By the Port HairsHave you ever watched a cooking show and seen something that made you crave a certain food? It happens to us all the time, but luckily for us, most food cravings are easily satiated in the Bay Area.Except, unfortunately, we were watching a show where they were preparing underrepresented Puerto Rican food--specifically mofongo!--and a cursory search of the Yelps turned up nothing in the South Bay. Fortunately, I was able to turn to a trusted Yelp friend who steered me here to Parada 22 (P22) up in The City. P22 has been in business for nearly 15 years and also owns two Cuban sister Cuban restaurants, Cha Cha Cha, and two Mexican restaurants, Papitos. The Good:*Dog-friendly outdoor dining *Friendly service*Location is within easy waking distance of Golden Gate Park*Local beers, as well as macrobrews and fermented grapes. *Good entertainment if you sit outside from one of the local street artists. *Reasonable prices--especially for SF*Yucca Fries were hot and crispy, and the creamy cilantro-garlic sauce was fantastic, but we could've definitely used more as the tiny thimble didn't last long. *Yellow rice was so good and reminded me of this "Mexican Rice" my mom used to make. *Maduros (Fried Plantains) were fried up fantasticly and had a nice caramelization to go with the sweetness. I could eat a literal bucket of these. *Mofongo hit the spot and satisfied my craving. The concomitant shrimp were cooked and seasoned well. The Meh:*Pernil Asado (pork shoulder) was underseasoned and just lacked a lot of flavor. Fortunately, their house orange hot sauce was able to help. The Ugly:*Parking can be challenging anywhere in SF, but this area, in particular, seemed extra daunting. Conclusion: Great spot to get your first taste of severely underrepresented Puerto Rican food or to satisfy your craving. Recommended.

I ate literally everything on my plate and my only complaint is that the pastelón was not bigger. The pastelón was a little sweet from the plantains and the beef was well seasoned. The rice and beans were so good. Like how do they make the black beans taste so incredible?! I drenched my food with their hot sauce. It could have been even spicier, but I LOVED its tanginess. I would definitely buy the sauce if they sold it separately! Definitely check this place out, the servers were super friendly and the prices were very fair! It's a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner.

I was on the hunt for some great Puerto Rican food and came across Parada 22. All of the reviews seemed to be raving about this place so I decided to give it a try for myself. The inside of this restaurant is filled with lots of culture and history. As I walked in, I could feel the authentic love for food!I ordered the Pernil Asado and it had a perfect balance of flavors. The Pernil was some of the most tender pork, I had ever tasted and it had a subtle smokiness to it as well. I am a big fan of plantains and my only wish is that the plantains were a bit softer. The star of the dish for me was actually the rice. The rice has a great blend of flavors and seasonings and I could eat a whole bowl of this myself. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to get a good meal with authentic flavors!

It was my first time at parada and can't believe I hadn't been before. I love Puerto Rican food because it's so homey and reminds me of food I eat at home. We went in on Fourth of July for lunch and it wasn't too busy. We were greeted and sat immediately . We ordered two plates of mofongo de pernil, camarones a la criolla and a plate of chicharron de pollo. It was so good! The pernil was doused in a creamy sauce, the rice and the beans were so flavorful and their maduro frito was ripe and sweet. The chicharron de pollo was so crunchy and juicy and that plate came with tostones. The camarones were in a very tasty sauce and had all the same sides. Ugh! Can't wait to go back and get mofongo again.
