One of my coworkers brought pineapple cookies from this place. They were delicious. I sent my partner to get us some pan dulce there a few days ago and the place was closed when on Yelp and Google maps it says it should be open. Not reliable and just a waste of time. It's a shame because those cookies were so good but I guess I'll never be able to try their pan dulce.P.S. My partner asked a neighbor next door to pan lido about their hours and he said that they open whenever they want and their young generation don't care about the business.

I have a problem with people lying to sell bread. We went in there and asked if it was fresh ( maybe made in the morning, most bakeries do) the man behind the counter assured us that everything was made fresh the same day. He lied! After buying $40 dollars worth of bread, almost all except for the semita' was dry and sugar was dissolved in the relampago. I would say this bakery is hit or miss.

*** In Short ***Not the quesadilla salvadorena you're looking for.*** In Depth ***Having spent summers in El Salvador as a kid, I grew to really love quesadilla salvadorena: a pastry akin to a cheesy pound cake, and one I've tried to find locally for quite some time now. There's actually a surprisingly vibrant Salvadorean community here in SF, with a handful of shops offering Salvadorean pastries, these included!Stopped by Pan Lido to try them out the other week, and, well, wasn't really sold on their take of my childhood favorite: these were lightly sweet (a good thing), but lacking in texture (a bit too soft) and cheesy flavor.***Accessibility Info***Venue - Not accessible without help, unfortunately, with a single (short) step to get inside the business. Once inside, however, there's enough space to get around, with your standard height bakery display cases.

Oh Pan Lido, what happened? Over priced, stale and just not good. Wouldn't mind the price if the pan was still good. Pastelito de piña with no piña and the little cupcake ones were salty? Off day?

Do you remember the first time you fell in love? If you've forgotten, let the owners welcome you in to Pan Lido and show you the way! I first tried one of their tamales from the owners son (Shout-out to Walter jr!) (Let me add I absolutely hate mexican tamales), I was reluctant to try - but I've never had a Pan Lido tamale! I was instantly hooked. I've never had such a moist and flavorful tamale before, and the way Pan Lido wraps them up, you can tell it's made with pride and love. Now it's not ALL about the tamales...the bakery is nestled down in the mission, and have their own parking lot (what!?), so if you're lucky you can grab a spot and hang out and eat there all day while having a nice chat with Walter (owner). The bakery hosts a wide variety of treats, from fresh baked bread loafs, various savory and sweet pies, cookies, turnovers..the list goes on and on. Everything you try here is a hit, and you will be treated like family and with the utmost kindness and hospitality. Come support your local Salvadorian bakery who's been in business since 1981!
