Overkill Grill

I'd give this a 4.5, but the tots put it over the top. I love Bender's, so good food next to my whiskey is an easy sell. Bender's itself is a kinda gritty dive with pool tables and music sometimes, but this is about Overkill! You order at their counter and they bring it out to your seat.The Classic Schnitz is a hefty fried chicken cutlet dressed on an Acme sesame bun. Crispy and delicious. At this size it puts other chicken sandwiches to shame.The Bent Tots: so good! Bacon, cheese, lettuce, pickled jalapeños, and special sauce. Perfectly crunchy and non-oily tots. Lemme tell ya. We got another dish of plain tots because they were so good.

Incredible bar food! We were pleasantly surprised at the delicious, fresh offerings here. Portions were great and prices were good. My partner is from Sichuan and the Sichuan flavors were legit and so mala was on point! Burger ($12) was good but the Sichuan chicken schnitzel with noodles was bomb!Server was thoughtful and helpful - good to note that this is in a dive bar!

The brisket BBQ was amazing and paired perfectly with the potato salad. The mac salad was a little too tangy/salty but Hawaiian bun helped dial it down

Owned and operated by two trained Chefs who've worked at notable spots in SF. The food is great and easy on the wallet, with weekly food specials.Chicken Schnitzel and Dim Dim Noodles are my go to items

Really good Chezburg... pickled holler-penos, WHAAT! Mrs. had a Grilled chez tostada, she is looking forward to the next one. SOLID.

I find the food boring and under seasoned. I've tried just about everything on the menu, because I love going to Bender's and I HAD to get food in order to drink. Burger was bland, schnitzel was dry and chili had a weird after taste. Benefit of the doubt: everyone has a off day. Must be my bad luck that those are the days I ordered food. Hope y'all figure it out. I wish you success.

Awesome people, great food. One of the hidden gems in San Francisco. They are constantly updating menu with specials that keep me coming back for more. So happy to see this team pair up with Benders!

Best burger in town under $10. These are the folks from Cathead's bbq (RIP), and their 'Bent burger' is legit. (I eat burgers on the regular, all over town). This one's delicious.Then, after several hours of pool and beer I asked the cook what his most decadent thing to eat was, (like what does HE eat when going big).They served me the chicken schnitzz on top of the spicy noodles and that was drunk food paradise. Salty, spicy, sweet and satisfying. Slept like a baby, woke up thirsty, will be back for more.

Richard and Pam are really cool people and put out some really tasty food! Right now it's my favorite burger and my favorite fried chicken sandwich. The chicken is a schnitzel style, pounded thin and breaded. I also love the din din noodles w the schnitzel over it. (The noodles are a little spicy so be prepared) My other favorite is a called the tostada grilled cheese which is a sandwich made of slices of thick cut white bread that was dipped in a red chile sauce before its co8ked on the griddle w I think is cream cheese w a crispy corn tortillas in the middle. Amazingly good! If ur a carnivore, u can add burger patty fir an extra charge. Richard and Pam who run the place also make specials which are creative and fun. They once offered a red puzzle but instead if hominy, they used pasta!! So, not traditional, but still delicious. I actually preferred their version over the traditional. As far as the "ambiance", we'll it's a cool dive bar that often plays loud heavy metal music. Benders is a local place w a lot local people. Most of the bartenders are friendly. I think the male bartenders are friendlier than the women but that's just me. If you live in the area u can get the food to go. Overkill is a hidden culinary gem!

Always killer, never any filler. Their food is so good, I don't go out to eat any more. That's in the city with some of the finest food. They are constantly changing the menu, but, always keep the staples. I'm not sure why I didn't finish writing this review the first time I ate here, but, my happiness with their food has not wavered since! Check 'em out!
