Starting on the 1st Tuesday of November, this business had a stand at the Ferry farmer's market on the north side of the clock tower. As I shopped, I noticed that there were several customers each time I passed and, being on a schedule, I didn't stop other than to take a photo of the stand and its menu. The following Tuesday, she was just setting up so I looked at her menu as she talked about her family business, explaining the legacy and her passion to continue it.I decided to get a three pack box to try. I reheated thepepperoni empanada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_B5QZ-u3FX6-iX1k65smJA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) the next morning for breakfast in the toaster oven; the filling (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=t3horCUoW3PALEw6I_rBZA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) was a decent amount but the flavor didn't really stand out on this as it was on the drier side. The following morning, I reheated the mushroom Gorgonzola empanada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=C9P2JURMbLRAE5ht0Ndoog&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); the filling (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=RFsAtGWeyC9EV6JL7OxDLQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) is generous and the earthiness from the mushrooms balanced with the cheese's richness. My final empanada was the Spanish chicken empanada (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=7zQ1G2RzHgfNap9Z-GUJXA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); this is described as having organic chicken, onions, red and green bell peppers, and tomato sauce. The filling (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9lIRH2wYYtMaOJlziNcwXg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) here is more moist than the other two which is likely why it was my favorite.Due to errands last week, I wasn't able to stop here but I will make a point to try other menu items. Try this stand you're at the Ferry Building on Tuesdays. You should be able to find something that fits your palate.

Baking in San Francisco since 2010.Nucha was at the Divisadero Farmers Market San Francisco.Great variety and Selection of Empanadas, plus they brought Quiches, and Desserts. The freshly made Empanadas that were brought to market would make for an easy Sunday Lunch.

Nucha Empanadas allowed me to experience sheer disappointment in a single bite!I was at the SOMA StrEat Food Park and spotted this food truck from a distance while I was already eating. As usual, because my eyes are bigger than my stomach, I decided I could use an empanada to top off dinner. The food truck window was lined up with a variety of savory and sweet empanadas, and my mouth was salivating. Almost $7 later, I was handed a nice little empanada after it was heated up in a microwave, and I'm smiling, so excited to devour it. I poured some chimichurri sauce on top and took a big bite, ready to let a "mmm" escape from my mouth.Instead, I was met with a mix of cold and lukewarm fried dough that was somewhat stale. My face fell as I experienced first surprise, then sadness, and finally regret. Thanks to Nucha Empanadas, what was a great meal at the food trucks ended in the realization that life is full of disillusion, even when it comes to empanadas.

This is a review for the Nucha Empanadas food truck at the Food Truck spot in District Six (11th Street and Division Street where SOMA and The Mission meet). If I'm gonna pay over $13 for two modestly-sized empanadas please do not microwave them.

Found this truck at the SOMA food truck park recently. They have a great variety of Empanadas, including VEGAN empanadas, which was great.I tried the 3 Vegan optionsKale and Butternut Squash, Corn and Peppers ( which had a vegan cheese kind of an ingredient as well) and Roasted Eggplant. All of them were tasty and my favorite was probably the "Corn and Peppers". The 4th vegan option was a spinach empanada. They also have sweet / dessert empanadas. The price for 1 empanada is $6 which is a little high I feel, but the price is discounted for bulk purchases. If you buy 2 it is $5.50 / each and $5/ each if you buy 3. So then it becomes a good deal. Glad I got to try it.

My friend had a get together at Spark Social at ordered empanadas for the group. They packaged them in pizza boxes which made them easy to carry to the party area. Of all the flavors, my favorites were the Spanish chicken and the mushroom gorgonzola. The spicy meat ones were good but a tad too spicy for me. We also has the Alfajores cookies for desserts which were both great, though the chocolate covered ones tasted were better because what's *not* better chocolate-covered?

I first found out about Nucha Empanada at the SOMA Food Truck event. Nucha offers many different flavored empanadas (sweet and savory), some of the favorites are the ham and cheese, corn and peppers, mushroom, spicy beef, onions, and cheese. Some of the sweet flavors include pineapple, apple, peach cobbler, and blueberry. The empanadas are shaped like big, fried, crispy potstickers. I ordered the apple and the spicy beef which were both very delicious! My spicy beef came with a small sample of green sauce to put on it, but honestly, I didn't even need the sauce. The empanadas tasted great just warmed up and was very filling. I plan to try more of their empanadas and come out of my comfort zone to try out flavors I normally wouldn't. The prices are a little steep coming at $4. When I want to treat myself to a $4 empanada, i'll come to Nucha's!

I agree with every recent reviews. I feel very ripped off paying $19.65 for THREE dry empanadas at Sparks Social. I love supporting small businesses but wow, $19 for three? I thought I paying for 6 empanadas maybe? They tasted unforgettable and underwhelming. The cheese was very dry.And you know what's funny? My large Fieldworks IPAwas way cheaper than my food.

I found them at the Alameda farmers market on Saturday. I got the spicy beef, spicy pork, and the chicken. Of the three, the spicy pork was the best. The smoked pork taste radiated through each bite. It was not spicy for me, but for some, I sure it would be.The spicy beef and the chicken were good, but not as good as the pork. I liked that the empanadas were baked, as the crust had a nice shine and crunch.

I was lucky enough to come across this business at the Castro Farmers market. I've had a lot of empanadas and these (spicy meat) are at the top of the list!
