New York Pizza - San Mateo

What a surprising revelation. The pizzas definitely hit the spot as we chowed down in our hotel form a delivery at New York Pizza. 18" Pepperoni and half Combination, half Pesto Chicken were the orders. The pies came in a good time and were still hot. The crust was really reminiscent of a New York style pizza; thin, foldable, yummy. The kids enjoyed their pepperoni and it do taste good. The Combination is delicious as well, but I kept gravitating to the Pesto Chicken. Every component was in perfect unison in my mouth. When I kept getting the Pesto Chicken over the Combination, you know New York Pizza is doing things right. I am glad that I chose a local pizza joint over a nationwide chain. New York Pizza did not disappoint and would definitely try them out again when in the area.

I like this location more than the San Bruno one -- they are more consistent with taste of the slices. I've been grabbing different slices from this location and it's rarely a miss. Also a good price to value slices imo. I should note though the lighting inside looks quite depressing. Other than that it's definitely a 5 star for me.

I come here for the cheese sticks . They're he best ever. The staff makes em super fresh and delicious. The aroma is great, the texture excellent, and quality superb.

Unassuming pizza spot in downtown, great for late night as they're one of few spots with extended hours. My go-to is a slice of Hawaiian (pineapple and bacon). The pizza is really good, slices are huge, and the crust is perfect - thin, doughy, and chewy. They also have a $5.99 deal for a cheese slice and drink. The pizza comes out in 10-15 minutes. Service could be a bit better. Overall, solid spot for a late night pizza run.

Pizza to go - I love it here! I'm taking off one star only because the indoor seating isn't the best, but for the price, it's still a decent option.

This review is long overdue, as I have been coming here for years! This pizza is delicious and I love the New York thinness of this pizza! The ambiance, service and location are great. Go help support a local business like this one!!

Service is much better in Palo Alto, Guy with the long beard had attitude and when my potato skins came out. He tossed them to us and almost fell off the plate. Pizza was okay though.

Lemme tell ya somethin'--Billy? That guy is a freakin' legend. We're talkin' top-tier customer service here, the kinda service that makes you feel like royalty. The dude was so nice I almost checked to see if I was on one of those hidden camera shows. Seriously, he could teach a masterclass in "How Not to Be a Jerk 101."And the ambiance? Fuggedaboutit. It was chef's kiss--classy but not too fancy, cozy but not cramped, like the kinda place you could sip a cocktail and plan your rise to world domination. I half-expected Sinatra to walk in and start croonin'.If you're in San Mateo and NOT coming here, what are you even doin' with your life? Get off your couch, put on somethin' decent (but not too decent, don't get crazy), and let Billy and his crew show you how it's done. I'd recommend this spot to anyone--your friends, your family, heck, even your mother-in-law. She might finally stop complainin'.Bottom line? This place is like a bagel from a good deli: perfect, satisfying, and impossible to replicate. Get yourself a KING KONG and thank me later

Great Nee York style pizza, great friendly service fresh ingredients they will make you any kind of slice

Pizza was absolutely delicious!! Not only did they put a good amount of cheese they put a good amount of sauce which was so tasty and the crust is kind of flaky and airy if that makes sense and soft but has a slight crunch on the outside. Absolutely delicious pizza . I ordered an extra large pepperoni and an extra large pepperoni/ half cheese both amazing and will definitely be ordering from here again.
