Wonton egg noodle soup ($9) is my go to here, add a little bit of white pepper to make it yummier! The restaurant makes good use of the tiny space and sharing tables is pretty common. One server taking all the orders from phone to in person, so at times you might need to walk up to the counter to order. Weekend can get quite busy, order 3 items: black pepper beef with rice ($12), wonton noodle soup ($9), and wonton rice noodle soup ($9), waited about 30 minutes. You get 8 wonton in your soup, they do not skimp out on at all. The wonton had plenty of filling and was flavorful. Not too salty either. The rice plate is a great size, super flavorful, not too oily for the protein as well. Great prices with options for everyone!

Nothing fancy but that hole in the wall you want to go back again and again. They are my go to place for Chinese dishes. Everything is reasonable price, and the food is yummy. My favorite dish is the beef crispy noodles. Everything else I have tried has also been good too. Service is friendly. During lunch rush hour, you can wait a while. They do get very busy and it's a really small place. Just plan ahead if you can. Price did raise a little bit since their vacation but still the best price in Chinatown.

I find myself coming for lunch more often not because the food is good but the kitchen actually listens when i ask for low salt & less oil. Everywhere i go i ask for the same thing but they give me lip service, but not here, New Fortune honors my request and i appreciate that. This is a popular restaurant even on the weekdays so be prepared to wait for tables if you come during the lunch time rush.

Visiting from Texas we wanted some yummy Chinese and this was a great pick suggested by my cousin who is a San Francisco local. The food was delicious and the servings were nice portions we had plenty to take with us. The service was great and the location was right in the middle of China Town. There weren't many people and the ambience was nice

Great portion at great prices! Wonton soup is a favorite, for sure. It gets super busy during lunch hour, so definitely plan ahead. It's a no-frill, dependable eatery in Chinatown for sure

Visiting Chinatown looking for good food for lunch...we received more than that! The service was amazing. Our server was very kind and welcoming. It's a cozy place that stays full so you know it's delicious! The Wonton soup and Perking Spareribs were full of flavor. Yummy!

===TL;DR===- Curry pigskin fish ball - Shredded pork w/ salted vegetables soup - rice noodles- Dry vegetable with salty pork ribs porridge ===TMI===Long time customer but I always forget to review them! They're like this hole-in-the-wall, IYKYK. Love a good deal especially in this day and age. Still upholding affordable prices, biiiiiggggg proportions for what you're paying for. My go to here is always their Shredded pork w/ salted vegetables soup - rice noodles, I love those thin noodles. The porridge here is on the fluffier thick end if you're into that but they're very flavorful (my mom approved!). I see many people there also order their fried rice - I suggest you share because it's huge! Unless you have the appetite to devour then have it all to yourself by all means. They might not be the most glamorous or cleanest place but if you want some authentic Chinese food, don't sleep on them. Also, most of the time it's 1 lady running the show (she takes orders, bus tables, clean after people, and ensure the kitchen is doing what they need to) so be patience. Note: If I didn't remember wrong, they are card friendly if your order exceeds over $20 or $25 (forgot which one). Otherwise, cash is appreciated

Great food, but tiny dining area so expect to wait for a table. Good lunch specials and hard working staff.
