Char Siu Croissant
Roasted Mushroom Croissant Tart
Roasted Mushroom Croissant Tart - 4 stars
The Curry Potato Bourek kind of reminds me of a flaky pastry with the filling similar to a Japanese curry korroke.

I've been meaning to visit this bakery for a few years now, but it's usually very busy. Came a Wednesday at 9AM and it was pretty empty. The cashier kindly gave me recommendations per my request and it didn't disappoint! They also have outdoor seating which was very nice.Ordered a twiced-bake ube croissant and it was delicious! It had the perfect amount of ube and the frangipane on the top. It was sweet, but not too sweet! Also ordered an ice latte and it wasn't great, but also wasn't bad. Essentially, it was mid! I'll for sure be coming back!

**Yelp Review:**I had the chance to try the Everything Croissant, and it was a delightful experience! Imagine the classic flavors of an everything bagel reimagined in a delicious croissant. This flaky pastry is filled with a creamy, rich cream cheese that perfectly complements the topped everything bagel seasoning. 7.3/10The combination of textures is fantastic, with a wonderfully light and flaky crust. Just be prepared--it can get a bit messy with all those toppings ready to tumble off, but that's part of the fun! A generous size makes it perfect for sharing, making it a great option for breakfast or a snack. Highly recommend giving this savory pastry a try!

Extremely underrated bakery and I think they don't get as much hype because of their location but IYKYK. Love that their baked goods are asian inspired and there are savory options too! Came week after xmas when it wasn't too busy and tried their spicy chicken sausage & peppers ($6.25) and sweet guava one that reminded me of portos. The chicken sausage one was too good and I still think about it...Wish they had a more active IG or place to see what's on their menu currently since I think the chicken sausage one was a special for the day but it was perfection!!They also have coffee/matcha options with paper son attached and some seating outside but it does get chilly. Can't wait to come back here and try more things!! HUGE HUGE fan!

I've tried Neighbor Bakehouse several times by now and it never disappoints. I used to get the char siu danish from Sunday Bakeshop before they closed down and I'm glad they have the same offering at Neighbor Bakehouse now. Their twice baked croissants are absolutely delicious. The crust on top reminded me of pineapple bun. The filling was not too sweet and it also didn't compromise the flakiness of the croissant either. Highly recommend this bakery in the Bay Area!

Trendy bakery with some interesting items, but doesn't hit it out of the park. Got the ham and cheese croissant, mushroom tart, and curry potato bourek. The ham and cheese might be the best tasting out of the bunch just because the addition of mustard on the inside made it more interesting. The ham was huge, but I couldn't taste any cheese. And the seeded crust was fine. The mushroom tart had all the cheese the croissant might've been missing, but it also had a strange cream in the middle that might taste better when warmed. And the curry potato bourek was super flakey, but the addition of scallions really threw off the flavor, which was already pretty mild. They have fun with their flavors, but perhaps not executed well.

To sum it up: high end pastries with Asian twists for hefty coin. The flavors are amazing though, the Ube croissant had me rethinking flavors and what I loved, perfect. The char siu was a savory one with lots of toppings, but definitely does not replace a regular char siu bun for me for a fraction of the price. All 5 pastries came out to be around $55, which was a lot, but if it's too much to pay for pastries, others will for the quality and flavor profiles. Line is out the door and they sell out quick!

Neighborhood bakehouse is absolutely delicious! While there are only two seats outside and no inside seating, the food and drinks were great. I decided to check it out while in the dog patch neighborhood and when I went I got the char sui croissant as well as the Thai tea mochi muffin and the matcha and Thai tea drinks. My favorite item was the char sui croissant!! It was perfectly crispy with just the right amount of savory to sweet and had very tender meat. I wasn't the biggest fan of the texture and taste however of the Thai tea mochi muffin, but both drinks were lovely as well. If you are thinking of checking out this bakery, definitely do - especially for that scrumptious char sui croissant!

5 stars for the pastries, ESPECIALLY the Char Siu pastry. Do not leave without ordering it. Ask them to warm it up for you too! 3 stars for the coffee - it was not only overpriced for the size, but honestly just wasn't that great. I'd pick up pastries here and coffee elsewhere. The staff members are patient and seem to enjoy what they're doing. Seating wise: a limited set of outdoor tables are available - they were completely filled when we went but we didn't have to wait long for someone to leave. Line wise: there wasn't a line when we ordered but I think we caught a slow period because when we left, there were 4-5 people in line. Either way, they were pretty quick with bringing out our order.

I finally checked out this Asian-inspired crossaint bakery that's been on my bucketlist for months. I came on a Friday afternoon at 2pm and was able to find free street parking pretty quickly. In front of the bakery, they also have limited parking spots available for food delivery drivers and pickup.Even though I arrived later in the day, all the pastries were still available. I ordered the Char Siu crossaint (4/5) which is one of their most popular item. After reheating the crossaint, it was flaky and well-filled with char siu. Although, it was very flavorful, I did find that it was a bit too much sauce under the char siu.I couldn't decide between the Amelie (4/5) and Matcha Adzuki croissant bun (3/5). I ended up picking the Amelie since it looked pretty. The cashier was so sweet and gave me an extra matcha croissant bun to try as well! I was pleasantly surprised and I wish I got her name. Between the two crossaint buns, I enjoyed the Amelie more as it was filled with raspberry. The torched cream offered a nice crunchy texture to the soft bun. When it came to the Matcha Adzuki (red bean) crossaint bun, the matcha cream was too light to taste like matcha. However, I did appreciate how the red bean wasn't too sweet. Overall, I do wish the crossaints were more flaky and less chewy.

Having been to almost all patisseries in SF....I gotta say...Neighbor Bakehouse definetly is up there with their unique flavors for both savory and sweet options. Their pastries are of course gorgeous (camera eats first!) so your eyes will be very satisfied and intrigued before you take the first bite. It is worth it! I came on a Sunday morning around 9 am and the line was pretty short and moved quickly, which is great. There is ample parking around the neighborhood and you can always park a block away if needed. As for pastries, recently I got a ham & cheese and spicy chicken sausage & peppers (it was that day's special). The ham & cheese is a classic, but nothing too too special. It was also better toasted so I did that at home before eating it. The spicy chicken sausage & peppers was awesome - there was a whole half-sausage in the pastry, along with a giant piece of beautifully cooked pepper. I loved the flavor combo (a bit sweet and salty, with a touch of heat). I think my issue with savory laminated pastries is that you lose many of the honeycomb texture with laminated dough because the fillings are heavy, not allowing the dough to flake up during baking. As a result, you get a pretty chewy block of dough, which isn't bad, but just the reality? Overall, I enjoy Neighbor Bakehouse for their unique flavors!
