I LOVE NAKORN FOR THAI FOOD I always get the Guay Tiew Ruer Ruam noodle soup with flat noodles and it tastes amazing its the closest thing you'll get to Pho if you're craving it. The pad thai, pad kee mao, pad see ew, and thai ice tea here are also good dishes. The owners are really nice and the service is amazing! I am always warmly greeted by all the staff when I walk in and no one there is ever in a bad mood. The ambiance makes it feel like an authentic Thai restaurant. PLEASE COME HERE FOR ALL YOUR THAI FOOD CRAVINGS!!!Best Thai food in the Richmond District. Period.

Wow, one of the worst pad Thais I have ever eaten. I ordered it with pork, and initially I thought maybe they gave me the wrong meat. I wasn't sure if it was fish or chicken, but it was definitely not pork. I immediately spit out the meat. The noodles itself was dry and uninspired. This is a reminder to myself to never go here again

Wasn't this the original location of King of Thai? That's how I remember it... Has the delicious King of Thai disappeared now?? Anyway, I came here with the wrong expectations, but even though it was an open-run and we were pressed for time, I still have fond memories of the tasty meal!Overall, the food was pretty good, and my wife said the seafood noodle soup was really tasty.

Very small restaurant located in the heart of Clement neighborhood. Food tastes great and so many varieties of Thai food. Service was excellent and friendly with the reasonable prices. Highly recommended!!

The restaurant at this location when it was King of Thai was always good. But since it's changed ownership it's even better! They are sourcing much higher quality meat with no fat. And the sauces are made with a lot more care. Definitely a five-star Thai restaurant now.

So... Nakorn Thai SF replaces KOT #1 where I had repeatedly the best meal of my life, the beef stew with flat noodles. I returned to find the interior of this hole in the wall restaurant intact and the menu very similar to the old one including favorites like the pineapple rice and pumpkin curry and my beloved noodle dish.On first slurp I found the broth a little less sweet with palm sugar, maybe not a bad thing. I asked for the fish sauce/chili special sauce which is not on the table because it could instantly ruin a meal for the unwary and was glad it was still available. Once I had spooned the small portion (probably not much more than a tablespoon) into my soup I was on familiar ground. The stew meat could use a little more seasoning while stewing, otherwise no complaints. Plenty of noodles and the weird body parts that make this dish special.I am so happy to give Nikon Thai SF five stars and look forward to a return visit. I hope the transition was smooth to the new owner and good karma is on hand for all involved, both current and former participants.

BanginHole in the wall on clement with some genuinely authentic and tasty Thai food. We came on a Tuesday during lunch hours and the place was pretty empty. The waitress was on her A game and was attentive to us and the 3 other tables. The pad kee mao and the Tom yum soup were delicious. The food was well flavored and didn't need the extra spices they provided. Total came out to around $45 and was well worth the portions and experience. Will definitely be back

I am really surprised by the bad reviews from past KOT customers. I have been going to KOT since I was a teenager. Spent many nights coming here after the bars closed for a meal. Then now with my husband and kids every time we are driving back from the airport. It has been about 30 years now. I was soooo bummed when I found out this location of KOT closed and the one down the street is. It the same. I have come here now a bunch under the new name and ownership and order the same thing (#8 always, chicken satay, pad thai and more) and it is still soooo good

#900.Nakorn Thai occupied the former King Thai #1 on Clement St. They brought the business from the original owner and kept the same menu (or slightly updated) for the many regulars that frequent this restaurant. We found them to be friendly and the food delicious. Ambiance is one of a small restaurant with minimal decor. Looking forward to trying new menu additions in the next visits.
