3.5 starsChicken -I got the combo. White meat was good, the katsu style was decent, a bit dry.Rice - good but not great. There were patched of mushy rice sticking together. It pales in comparison to true Hainan chicken rice as its too sticky at times.Price and service - super nice people and for $12 for the quantity, it's a steal.Secret of success - green cilantro sauceSo food wise, its a 3, but service and price pushes it up 1 star.

A new food truck in town, jumping on the trend of Thai joints doing their version of Hainanese Chicken Rice. Same poached chicken and fatty rice as Hainanese chicken, but much more flavorful sauces where the Thai influence really shines. Felt like a lot of food for the price point.Thai Basil Chicken Nuggets: A pretty amazing value for only $7.95. I thought I'd be getting a few pieces to munch on before my meal, but there were tons of them and they were super filling. Eating the whole thing made me only able to pick on the chicken and rice main course, saving a lot for leftovers. The nugget itself was fine, lots of tender breast meat with a crunchy dense breading. But the dipping sauce really took it to the next level. The sriracha mayo had a nice creamy tang. But I also dipped into the brown and orange sauces from my main course, to really add some nice diversity between bites. Also, the fried basil added a pleasant flavor, without being as overpowering as raw basil.Half Naked Combo: The whole poached chicken breast over fatty rice with dipping sauces seems to be popping up everywhere nowadays. Their's was fine. The chicken breast was a little drier than other places, but the dipping sauces easily mitigated that. I asked for the green cilantro sauce, since I love cilantro, but ended up getting every sauce but that one. The brown one was the nicest, with like a garlicky vinegary profile. The orange was ok, had a nice zing with the ginger and peppers. What I appreciated about the combo was the ability to get fried chicken too, so I didn't have to choose. It was thin like katsu, but the breading wasn't as crispy. Once again, fine when dipping the sauce. I really liked alternating between the poached and the fried chicken pieces.

Not the best I've had, but not the worst either. Definitely pricier for the portion compared to all the other Hainan chicken rice spots around here. It came with a small dry pieces of chicken, but I did appreciate the sauce and flavorful broth. The rice tasted more flavorful than the chicken. Service was quick and friendly, but I dont think I'd come back again when there are better options like Gai Chicken Rice What the Cluck, Rooster Rice, Hawker Fare, Good Gai's, and Stick & Steam in the area.

Food truck..but pretty good. They are up at the VA Hospital a couple times a week. All the rice combos comes with sliced cucumbers and tomatoes (unseasoned). The rice is seasoned and not the boring plain white type. I got the half combo $12.95. Fried and steamed chicken breast. I was sur3the steam chicken was really moist. You can get 5 or 6 separate dipping sauces on the side so to4i can have a different taste with every bite

With food trucks, I expect that a certain amount of product is most likely from Costco's frozen section, but the Thai nuggets tasted more like Trader Joe's. It was freshly fried, more likely was fried and kept under a lamp as it was dry and flavourless. I understand frozen nugget but could you not put some seasoning on it?I grabbed the different sauce: the sweet chili, the siracha mayo and the orange jalapeno, and all three had issues. The sweet chili tasted like thicken syrup with a few chilies, no heat at all. The siracha mayo, was decent but no heat, MORE SIRACHA PLEASE!!! The orange jalapeno did have heat and flavour, but since it was for the chicken and rice dishes, it was runnier than a dipping sauce for nuggets. For $8, I expect more than just fried basil leaves on top.

New favorite chicken and rice shop. I'm obsessed with the Half Naked Combo. I'm partial to the crispy half but I couldn't believe how soft and juicy the naked chicken breast was. I've never had chicken breast with that kind of texture before. Only minor complain I have is I wish they'd add soy sauce to the choice of sauces they carry. I'm not a fan of various fancy sauces (they have 4 or 5 choices) but all my coworkers seem to like them.

Seriously it's all about the rice! So came here in a Sunday at 2:30pm for a snack and a beer at Soma Streats. There were only 3 trucks open and they had more of what I'd rather have at that time. The nuggets were good but didn't have that much Thai basil flavor. But the rice!!! It was sooo good. Not sure what they do, but after the nuggets were gone, I kept eating the rice. Not sure what they do to the jasmine rice but it had that slightly sticky sweet flavor to it along with something else I can't identify. The lady was also so sweet and gave the rice for free with the nugget appetizer cause I asked for a side of rice. I would definitely get this again! The dipping sauce was also so good. Hope to see them at Spark Social too!

I wasn't expecting too much from a food truck in a setting with other trucks that have almost no vegan options, especially one that headlines with chicken. But there it was, a vegan Thai chicken dish! Not too spicy, some rice and vegetables. There was yellow onion, but easily avoided.Tasty and filling lunch. Would definitely get again.

Naked Chicken !!! True to the name of the truck . Chicken is super moist and tasty . I don't like chicken breast that much but I love their Chicken . Their sauces are so amazing, really fresh and healthy, I can feel and taste the freshness of every sauce . I also had the naked Pho on the cold rainy day and it was like cured my cold , tasted so yummy and all that herbs in the soup , so healthy . The owner is super nice , he recommended all the good sauces for me . Very good customer service. Thank you

I gotta be honest the pictures drew me in and to my delight the food came out just as appealing as the photos showed. My indecisive self got the Half Naked Combo even though it was an extra dollar more, I was craving fried chicken but also really wanted to try its namesake. Let me tell you right off the bat go with the namesake, the naked chicken. The fried chicken was extremely dry and lacked taste and felt like more breading than chicken. The naked chicken was soft tender and flavorful. The jasmine rice underneath was a bit bland so highly recommend using their sauces to liven the dish up. Overall the dish was really filling and service was quick. There are also a ton of sauces to choose from.
