A lovely neighborhood market... it is true that it's very pricey but I love that they stock many novelty items that you can't find at other big box chains. I don't shop here for my regular grocery haul but I love walking the aisles and finding unique, delicious items!I have had dozens of friendly encounters with the staff from the deli, bakery, butcher, cashiers, and even fellow patrons! The woman who works the bakery in the morning on weekdays goes out of her way to greet you and even offer fresh baked pastries, still hot from the oven! The butchers are informative and on many occasions offered to marinate meats that were not in rotation for the day!Unfortunately it is true what others have said about expired food for sale... other than that, it is great establishment where employees are friendly and helpful!

The after - sales service attitude of the supermarket is good, and the return and exchange process is relatively smooth. However, the business hours of the supermarket are short, which is not very friendly to some customers who get off work late. Although there are many types of goods, some niche brand products are scarce. Considering all aspects, it gets three stars.

It's been over fifteen years since my 1st review of this neighborhood market. I don't remember whether it was still Tower Market at that time or had morphed into Mollie Stones, a local Bay Area chain. What triggered this update is my experience at the deli section. I stopped in one late afternoon to buy a wrap for a friend so that she wouldn't have to worry about prepping food for lunch the next day. The ladies at the counter sadly told me that they ran out of the wraps to make them. Figuring I still some time to stop in before going to the office, I called the deli shortly after they opened the next day and a lady told me that they can make them. I drove over and was told that they were out of wraps after a gentleman looked in the prep area. Seeing my dilemma, he asked me to wait while he checked in back. About three minutes later, he emerged from the back storage area carrying a cardboard box on his shoulder. After cutting it open, he made my requested smoked turkey wrap. Big thanks to Javier for going the extra mile in helping me with this. Also, in general, I've found all of staff from the deli, the butcher area, the produce staffing, cashiers, and managers to be friendly and exuding that neighborly friendliness. It helps that their selection of products are more locally based than those big box markets.

Do not recommend this store The folks at the cash register are always super helpful and some of my favorite people, but there are glaring problems with this store that I cannot overlook I have reported to manager and on yelp reviews on the issues at meat counter and spoiled food. And I think everyone knows that the place is overpriced. They often take favorite brands off shelf and remove them so your only choice is the Mollie stone brand on some key foods But today was just it for me. I came into to pick up some mashed potatoes for a quick meal and noticed that there was a handprint in each of them. What was the most frustrating action was that that while horrified by handprint the male employee only took the one with the deeper handprint and left the other out to be sold before disappearing into the elevator by the bread. I get things being missed when they expired, and I have found several things and almost all of their perishable departments that sit on shelves past their date because it happens at almost every store, but when the employee came and only took one of the mashed potatoes that was it for me they both clearly have handprints hopefully the employee who did this war gloves, they were sealed. This was not some kid in the store. They were prepared this way.

Mollie Stones Tower Market is a San Francisco grocery store that happens to be located in the nature trail tourist trap of San Francisco. Mollie Stones started in San Francisco in 1986. This location is the last stop before and after visiting Twin Peaks. There is no gift shops around selling " I visited Twin Peaks" keychains or T-shirts. It's close to Mount Sutro Tower which serves as the compass of San Francisco if you are headed West , East , North ,or South of San Francisco. Some people complain about getting sticker shocked and premium priced while visiting Mollie Stones Tower Market without acknowledging that you're paying extra for the ariel view of the city at Twin Peaks. What I do enjoy about this Mollie Stones is their book selection. Yes they have a library of books about San Francisco. It's even got a book with a few pages about the my childhood apartment building bar the historic Elixir Saloon in the book "San Francisco Cocktails". The Elixir Saloon is the second oldest operating bar in San Francisco and we literally shared the same backyard for over a decade( bottles everywhere) in the Mission Dolores area of San Francisco. What I also like about Mollie Stones is fresh produce which has lots of varieties such as avocados, berries, strawberries and lots of fromage (cheese), watermelons, and a good selection of local and organic chicken, seafood along with marinades. I enjoy going through their mushroom section. Their spirit and wine selection puts the nearby Safeway to shame. A solid supermarket if you need to pick up some loose ends. The Books here are dynamic and the food selection is OrganicThe Spirits and wine selection at Mollie Stones Tower Market is Gigantic

Needed an specific grocery item. Called the store and the guy that answered the phone said yes we have that item. I repeated the item just to be sure and he reaffirmed that it was in stock. Drove to the stone, paid for parking and sure enough, they didn't have what I needed. Wasted my time.

EXPIRATION DATES? Do y'all check them? Just picked up sausages that were THREE WEEKS EXPIRED. The guy at the counter said "oh haha that's why they're not moving". Bought their Mollie cheese plate once and it was covered in fungus on the bottom when I got home.Yeah nevermind the outrageous prices, if you do go here, CHECK EXPIRATION DATES ON EVERYTHING!
