Still the best 艇仔粥 in San Francisco. This is mostly a noodle place, i think the congee is better than any other place here.

Pricing gone up quite a bit since covid. Still taste ok but i think the porridge texture was smoother and slightly thicker before. The side dishes like turnip cake, rice roll are decent, can use a little more salt. Maybe they r trying to be more health conscious too. Will return for quick breakfast or to go. $20/person

Solid restaurant in Sunset area. Canto speaking and decent parking options. We ordered Macaroni Chicken and Combo Wonton Noodle Soup With BBQ Pork Rice Noodle. Drinks we got were Hong Kong Style Milk tea and Almond Milk. Almond milk is so good. So sweet, but so good. Food came out quick. Tasted pretty good. Bathroom was okay. Usable clean. It's kinda pricey, but not sure if it's just normal SF pricing.

Solid little HK Breakfast spot! My family and I come here often for lunch on Sundays. This spot is a little small and has a short wait. I would wait around 5-15 minutes for a table of 3 people. We order the Set meals from the Chef's Special Menu. The set meals include a noodle dish, a side dish, and one hot drink or soda. I usually get an iced Hong Kong milk tea, which they charge $2 more for cold drinks. My dad orders meal A - fish cake and rich ball noodle soup and the spicy veggie and fish rice roll. We substitute the fish rice roll with the BBQ pork rice roll. I order meal B - Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup and BBQ Pork Rice Roll. The BBQ rice rolls have diced pork filling, but the highlight of the dish is the rice roll itself. The rice rolls are glossy and thin! Both noodle dishes are yummy and hit the spot. I was a little sad when they started giving less shrimp wontons. The wontons are pretty stuffed with shrimp. Overall, great authentic Cantonese breakfast spot.

First time eating at Ming Tai over the weekend and had a good experience overall. Even with lunch rush, we were able to get a seat right away. Restaurant was packed full of older Chinese people and families, a good sign to me. Pricing is fair, hot tea is included, utensils are clean, wonton had more than 1 piece of shrimp in them, and i didn't get a msg headache (cherry on top). Overall seems like a good authentic Cantonese place; would definitely come back if in the area.

Prices have definitely climbed over the years. Still not expensive but I wouldn't really call it a deal either. The "special" combos will run you at $16-18 pretax and the early morning specials will be about $14-16 if you include a drink. Also note that the sides in the combos are generally smaller, so again, not sure how much of a deal it really is and certainly not the value it used to be. Everything is decent but nothing really standout or special about this place other than it being a long time neighborhood establishment for jook (congee) / wonton noodle. Minus one star for all of this. Minus another star because when the lady brought my change back, she made it a point to tell me that the bill was "food cost only" ie you better tip. That basically guaranteed her a smaller tip. Before that the service was fine.

Solid spot for a quick HK breakfast. The service is prompt and the food comes out hot. My family enjoys getting a rice congee, side and hk milk tea combo. Depending on which combo set you order there are different sides available. We often opt for the sticky rice, pan fried radish cakes, or Chinese donut wrapped in rice roll. Just a note if you go too early they might not have gotten their shipment of Ho fun (wide flat rice noodles). However you can always chose from their selection of vermicelli or udon noodles if you opt for a soup noodle dish. Make sure to bring cash as they do not accept cash.

This is a great hole in the wall place if you have a craving for won ton noodles. We ordered 3 different bowls - wonton and dumpling, beef stew tendon and shiitake mushroom. Everyone liked their meal. The HK tea was good too.

Right after a trip to Hong Kong, I was def in the mood to some HK style breakfast such as rice noodles, turnip cake, porridge and wontons. This was def the right place to come. Flavors were in line with HK! The milk tea was so good for USA standards. Based on how busy they are consistently, that alone says a lot. Don't come here for the ambiance!

Been coming here since I was a kid and decided to come back and glad to say, it tastes just as good as i remember it. Not just nostalgic but it's improved a lot. It even has a more expanded menu too. Always gotta get their hong kong milk tea. It's rich and has a great aroma. Slightly pre sweetened and you can add a bit more sugar to it if you want (sugar is table side). We ordered the B Set with the bbq pork rice noodle and wonton noodle soup. The rice noodle were great, nice chew to it, and wasn't stiff, very bouncy with a very nice bite of bbq pork to it. The wonton noodle soup was so good. Clear broth and egg noodles that weren't over cooked amazing. The wonton's had like two pieces of shrimps inside and were just so juicy too. All their porridges are solid, i got the pork stomach and pork ball congee. Nice and light, great meal to fill you up with energy for the day. My all time favorite if you ever come is the mixed sauce rice noodles. So fresh rice noodles, bouncy, chewy texture, so soft that it's sometimes hard to grab with your chopsticks! A great blend of hoisen sauce and peanut/sesame sauce. Small side of spicy sauce. Just absolutely amazing. Sweet, nutty, yet a bit savory taste to it. Can eat it as a meal or as a snack! Gonna keep coming back just for this!
