Midnite Bagel offers a delightful array of artisanal bagels and baked goods, each crafted with a unique blend of flavors and textures. Here's a closer look at their offerings:Bagel Varieties: * Buckwheat Black Sesame Bagel: This bagel stands out with its nutty and slightly sweet profile, thanks to the combination of buckwheat and black sesame seeds. The texture is dense yet tender, providing a satisfying chew reminiscent of traditional sourdough breads. * Pumpernickel Bagel: A modern twist on a classic, this bagel incorporates Yecora Rojo wheat flour, organic rye flour, caraway seeds, and molasses. The result is a lighter, nuanced pumpernickel flavor that remains moist and flavorful for days. Spreads and Toppings: * Cream Cheeses: Midnite Bagel offers a variety of house-made cream cheeses, including plain, scallion, jalapeño, and smoked salmon with dill. Each spread complements the bagels' rich flavors, enhancing your overall tasting experience. * Cashew Cheese: For those seeking a dairy-free alternative, the cashew cheese provides a creamy, slightly tangy option that pairs well with any bagel variety. Additional Offerings: * Bialys: These onion-filled rolls offer a delightful alternative to traditional bagels, featuring a chewy texture and savory filling. * Sweets: Indulge in treats like passionfruit macaroons, buckwheat-banana muffins, and currant scones with coffee glaze. Each pastry is crafted to balance sweetness with unique flavor profiles. * Granola: Midnite Bagel's granola blends ingredients such as black sesame seeds, toasted coconut flakes, pecans, oats, and dried cranberries. Coated with tahini, agave syrup, honey, molasses, and brown sugar, it's baked into golden clusters that offer a rich, umami flavor. While their Inner Sunset café has closed, Midnite Bagel continues to serve their delectable creations through local farmers markets and select cafés in San Francisco. Their commitment to quality and innovation ensures that each bite is a memorable experience.

MIDNITE BAGEL is one of my top favs for bagels. Founder, Nick, was the head bread baker from Tartine and started as a pop up in Tartine in 2019. That brings a great background of experience to Midnite Bagel. I first encountered them at the local farmers market then briefly at a brick and mortar shop on Irving Street in the inner Sunset. Now it's back to farmers markets and then, if all else fails, their bakery headquarters on Illinois Street in the Dogpatch neighborhood. Beware It's not a traditional store front or entrance. A little like connecting with a secret underground club or speakeasy! Lol!!! At the brick and mortar shop and the farmers market the staff is always nice and helpful with picking out bagels if undecided. If going to the Dogpatch location at least by now you'll know what you want. Place your order and pick it up. All their bagels are good fresh or toasted - plain, sesame, onion, poppy seed, Everything, etc. - plus their shmears and chocolate chip cookies!!!! I'll always do a dozen plus a scallion or plain shmear. Still wish for a brick and mortar location but in the meanwhile. I'll happily find them wherever they are!

Wonderful place - also in part since I was offered free bagels as I stumbled upon them mid-afternoon on a Friday! They make in-house cashew cream cheese.I tried looking for this magical Gabriella's review but had to wayfind on my own so adding my directions & photos in case this may help others:-Map to: 2565 3rd Street. Look for what looks like a lobby. This is a public entrance! (You will see a parklet for the museum next door as a landmark)-Go left and get on the elevator (reads: for passengers not freight) and go to 3rd floor.-Get off the elevator, go left and then turn right down a hallway. You will reach this long cross-secting hallway with many doors. Go left.-Look for Suite 308 and ring the bell! They will welcome you in :)

My hubby and I spotted their booth at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market in San Francisco and decided to stop by for breakfast. One of the staff members recommended the Salsa Seca with Jalapeño Spread. Salsa Seca translates to "dry salsa" and the bagel has a really nice kick to it! They use Sierra Nevada Cheese handmade Gina Marie Cream Cheese, roasted jalapeños and salt to season it. It's thick and creamy! One of the best bagels I've ever had, just fantastic, 5/5 stars!I would HIGHLY recommend this small business and we'll definitely be returning next time we hit up one of their farmer's markets or check out their store front! Midnite Bagel sold its first bagel in 2018. They are more healthier, easier to digest and have a great shelf life, compared to other bagels! SYOY! :-)

I found this place on a Instagram reel about one of the best bagel spots in SF, so wanted to try it. At first I felt like I was Willie Wonka's factory, without the chocolate lol. It was a little confusing to find, but I called the number and the gentleman explained it right away. Here you go: Find 1176 Illinois St. the door is locked, so you will need to walk down the port (on the right of the door) all the way to the back. Go to the left inside a door. You'll get to a lobby where the elevator is. You'll recognize it when you in see a nice light fixture. Take the elevator to the 3rd floor and walk to the left until you get to suite 308. And there you go! Press the ring doorbell or just knock on the door if it's cracked open. It's an industrial building, so no place to sit and enjoy your bagels, but we were taking them togo so we could share while visiting family. I ordered everything online and it was ready when I got there. We got the bacon, egg and cheese on black sesame. And the salmon with cream cheese on sesame. Definitely get it toasted. The place is on the pricier side, but they do give you a good amount of salmon. It was honestly one of the best bagels I've had! If you're willing to go on a little adventure, I'd definitely recommend this place. Enjoy!

Pretty cool spot in Dogpatch! Was confusing to find (especially as I couldn't locate the review everyone referenced) but here's a step-by-step of how to find those fresh bagels:1) Follow GPS directions to the pick up dock (2565 3rd St) which has the address denoted on the left of the large entry way2) Walk through the big garage-like entry towards the stop sign (see photo)3) Curve left past the stop sign until you see a grey passenger elevator on the right4) Take the elevator up to the 3rd floor, where you walk down the hallways following the unit numbers to 308 (I believe it was down the left hallway)5) Ring the doorbell and a nice bagel man will come let you in (and give you water while you wait)I ordered the smoked salmon bagel sandwich (chose sesame bagel) - slightly spensy but topped with pretty fresh ingredients, including red pickled (?) onion, dill fronds, capers, micro greens, tender lox and a healthy amount of cream cheese. At first bite, you can tell the bagel itself has a perfectly thick texture with a slight crisp on the outside. To be honest, by the 6th bite the toppings got to be overwhelming and I realized all I wanted was the simply iconic bagel and the cream cheese! :) Excited to have tried this mysterious bagel place (which is so clearly superior to the bagel place around the corner)!

Simply amazing! I love Midnite Bagel! If I'm at the Saturday Ferry Building Farmers' Market, it's extremely likely that I'm grabbing something from them and it's a good decision every time.My favorite thing is actually their loaves! I eat bread much more often than I eat bagels, and their sourdough loaves are large, high-quality, and have an amazing, slightly bouncy texture. All of their flavors are great -- the Buckwheat Black Sesame is my personal go-to -- and their sourdough challah is such a delicious and unique offering!Their bagels are also fantastic, of course. I like that they are sourdough, and they have that bagel chew you're looking for. Great with toppings and plain!Their Everything Cookie is hearty, and their Buckwheat Banana Muffin is huge! Their granola is also so good; again, love the sesame. I have yet to try their bagel chips or scone with coffee glaze, but, trust, I will get around to it.Finally, the staff is so so lovely! Very welcoming, sweet, and helpful. One time at the end of the market, the guy who's usually there gave me a free Everything Cookie. It's the little (and yummy) things! All in all, do check out Midnite Bagel! You literally can't go wrong.

Came here to make a major update on my review. I went to Boichik Bagels to compare. Midnite Bagel is now officially my all time favorite bagel place in the Bay Area, and I dare to say it's the most authentic one to satisfy New Yorkers living in the Bay Area

Delicious bagels but also such a fun experience walking through the warehouse!! We probably wouldn't have found the right location if not for Gabriella's review so check that out if you're lost. You go up a service elevator and into giant food production warehouse - it was pretty cool being able to see how the bagels are made. It's also takeout only because of the locationI got the onion bialy with jalapeño cream cheese and a lox sandwich - they were both so tasty and fresh! Highly recommend

I really enjoyed the open-faced Smoked Salmon Sandwich! The first bite was incredibly satisfying - super fresh veggies on top, and great flavors from the smoked salmon / dill / lemony onions / cucumbers and other veggies. The Smoked Salmon Sandwich portion size was also more filling than expected. I was already feeling satisfied after half of it, and barely managed to finish the entire thing by myself. At $16 currently, it's one pricey smoked salmon sandwich, but not so bad if I think about it as $8 for a satisfied belly. Next time I would split this with someone else or take half to go.The sourdough bagels themselves were okay. I tried the pumpernickel bagel for the sandwich, and also got the everything bagel and buckwheat black sesame bagel on the side. I wouldn't say they are worth a special trip out. I'm no bagel expert though - I just go by what tastes good to me and has texture I like, and these were not the best I've ever had. But I'd come back for the smoked salmon sandwich.
