We are picky about our Ramen, with only a few places really making the cut but I think this is one of them. At first I was bummed they werent curly noodles but they ended up being handmade which definitly makes up for it. They had a great bite to them and good flavor as well. The vegan option was great and the broth was rich and worked well with the vegetables. The atmosphere was pretty spot on as well. A great view of the kitchen from almost anywhere, with spray paint art lining the walls and big windows and ceilings. They had a projector playing anime but it wasn't too distracting if you didn't want to watch it. The service was the only thing that could have used a bit more. They were friendly but we had to ask for stuff like water, Ramen spoons, and other stuff a few times. I'm sure they are busy so I don't fault them. Overall a great place for some Ramen.

We were in the city, craving ramen: this place came up and we decided to try it. We walked in and we're seated right away. The waiter took a bit long to take our drink and food order. It was just us (party of 4) and another table. We ordered a few others for kids and ramen and curry for us. The server was nice to choose some kid friendly items (for picky eaters). The curry was great, the amount was generous for both: ramen and curry. The real show or what struck us was the bathrooms. Not because they're gender neutral: no. There was no electricity! There was a notice on the hallway. One bathroom was lit up with LED lights: flickering LED. Looked liked a light show in there. There was a moment where they turned off for a few seconds! My 8yr son was having the time of his life until we realized the toilet wouldn't flush! Yes! No flush. The flushing button was torn from the wall!! WTH?! I had to have my son hold my phone to light the flushing button so I can figure out how to flush this toilet. There was no way I was leaving a dirty toilet. After 3-4min I finally got the toilet to flush. Then I went to the next toilet: this one was lit by battery operated candles. No it did not look romantic with all the graffiti on the wall. At least the light didn't flicker on this one, but you could hardly see. This bathroom you could flush! Food was good but I wouldn't go to the bathroom here. SMH

Very below-average overall.Pros: Spicy karaage ($9) - tasty and good portion. Cool artwork.Meh: Shoyu ramen ($17) - just okay. Too soy-forward and pork was too tough to chew. The service was lackadaisical.Cons: Both restrooms out of service (!!). Bugs flying around. No music for the customers, but you have to listen to the reggaeton from the kitchen. Location not ideal - sketchy characters right outside.

Have been coming here pretty regularly for the past couple years. We always get the Spicy Garlic Black Sesame Ramen and we're gutted to find out it was taken off the menu recently. I got the curry this time around which is also delicious when I'm in the mood. Posting a photo of the black ramen as homage to a fantastic dish. Please bring it back! They also have vegan ramen which is really cool to not have to settle with vegan friends ;). The Asahi is cold and ready for you to come in and enjoy with an appetizer of karaage, seaweed or cucumber. It's all great. Usually quick service and can get a table as soon as you walk in.

(5 out of 5) The ramen here is amazing, this place is fantastic, the ambiance here is super cool, there a outside seating area with super warm heat lamps, and inside has a super homey feeling with tv shows playing on the sidewall! Just a great place to eat, when I eat soup I wanna feel warm, soup is comforting and this place definitely plays to that! I've had 4 different ramens from here and they've all been super good. And they have great service!! This is a place I will definitely be going back too! When you come tell them Rothyy sent you!

This review is quite late, so apologies for anything that has changed since I was here. We decided to come here because they have outdoor seating - rocks and some short wooden seats - and it had been a while since we had ramen.I ordered the vegan curry tantan ramen. The food came out quickly. I was the last to join the table, and the server got me a cup of water without me having to ask, which was thoughtful of them. The noodles were thick. It was actually quite spicy as it has chili oil in it; it wasn't labeled as spicy on the menu so I was taken by surprise. (I wasn't familiar with "tantan", so maybe it was just my ignorance) I would've preferred a milder or non spicy version of this. I didn't go for the vegan shoyu because it has yuzu in it, which I don't like.My partner got the shio ramen, which isn't spicy at all, but it was really good and savory. I would've liked to have a vegetarian version of that.Overall, the ramen is decent, just be careful if you wanted the tantan but weren't looking for something spicy.

WHEN: 1/17/24Super cute interior with plenty of tables. Came for weekday lunch and there was no wait. No parking lot so parking is tough to find on the busy streets. Prices are pretty standard SF so going to be higher than normal. Tried the Menya Black Ramen ($18) and Pork Loin Katsu ($16). First impression, portions are generous. Ramen: had a really interesting sesame broth which I've never had before and I think is unique to this restaurant; wasn't too sweet but did add those tones to the creaminess and saltiness of the broth; my favorite part was the egg that was perfectly cooked and had great flavorKatsu: very light and crispy coating with meat that isn't too juicy nor dry. worth the price

I was a party of 1 so I sat at the bar. The seating inside is a little tight so it's hard to maneuver around when it's busy. The servers were very nice and attentive. Ramen came out pretty quick. Overall it was yummy. The chashu pieces were pretty big. The bowl went deep so it was filled with noodles. Portion was so much I got to take home the other half! If you're in the area and wanting ramen at a decent price, I would come here.
