Lucky Ocean Cafe

Lucky's "Combo" Vietnamese sandwich $13 was disappointing. It is missing key banh mi ingredients like carrots and daikon. Instead, there was yellowing iceberg lettuce. Where are the pieces of cha lua (pork roll?) The little thin sandwich itself tasted OK but will leave you hungry and a sense of buyer's remorse. It took about 10+ minutes for the clerk to make my sandwich. There was one customer before me at 3pm on a Sunday.

I wish to travel to other districts where I check in to businesses where I might write interesting reviews. But since I'm stuck in Ingleside county, I can still check in to businesses close to home. It's good to get to any places by foot.I'm lucky enough to make it to Lucky Ocean Café. And another lucky asset was that there's few customers like us. Plus, cash was accepted. Well, only one person was working here, an Asian middle age woman. With just one person, it took extra time to get the order done. Since I go for a drink, it's never a problem. I ordered a Blended Taro smoothie with lychee jelly. When I choose a smoothie, it's much better than a chunk of ice. Just had to be aware of the brain freeze though.So if I can imagine coming back, here's what I would like to order: vegetarian Banh Mi, super Fruit Tea, matcha bingsoo. I feel comfortable coming here to purchase anything straight from the big menu. I can even come here to purchase lottery tickets. Not much about Lucky Ocean Café, but having a huge variety on the big menu really makes up for it.

First time here! I ordered a Ham & Egg w Cheese croissant & a Small Jasmine Milk Tea. The croissant was delicious. The Ham, Egg & Cheese were greatly emphasized and baked! I expected one of those croissants from the pantry. Although, the Jasmine Milk Tea was more on the bitter/watery side. No real complaints other than preferably a sweeter tea. I will definitely come back!

What I originally came in to order (a sandwich) they were out of it, or no longer serving which I got from the wall menu that's outdated come to find out........food service below average there focus seems to be more on lottery tickets ijs. but over all for my first experience, coming from a veteran of the OMI who "grew in not blew in" respectfully..... I was very disappointed & unsatisfied with my sandwich & her attentiveness,for the price & what I received it's no way worth it. ijs.

Don't come here! I ordered a chocolate croissant and it was moldy. Very poor food quality here. Lady not nice neither

The food here is really good. My kids and I stopped here on the way to an indoor playground near by and we were not disappointed. The kids ordered the ham cheese and egg croissant and they honestly could have shared one. Very generous proportion. They shared a strawberry banana smoothie which was delicious. I got the pork sandwich and the Vietnamese iced coffee and it was all so delicious! The lady who helped us was just so sweet and made us feel like we've been going there forever. The cafe itself was a nice little spot with enough tables and chairs to accommodate several small groups. Over all a nice place to stop off a bite. Can't wait to go back.

It's my first time in and I ordered the grilled pork banh mi with a thai tea. The banh mi came on an extremely stale, rock hard roll with mayo, iceberg lettuce, cilantro, and two large slices of cucumber. It didn't have any carrots or other veggies and no pepper. The meat was okay but very small portions.The thai tea was fine but had a strange aftertaste. Not a big deal since it could just be whatever flavoring/sweetener they used.The tea came out quickly and the banh mi shortly after, so two stars for quick service, but this isn't worth $10 much less the $19 I paid for a small sandwich and small tea.

I don't write reviews often but felt compelled in this instance. I ordered a number 5 and number 9 Banh Mi. Once unwrapped, they were not what I expected, and not in a good way. No carrot, no radish, no jalapeño, and no cilantro. Dismal looking sandwiches.

Food quality is poor . One egg in my bagel seem like I was eating bread only . What I pay here would have have gotten something better somewhere else .The smoothie was the only thing decent !
