One of my friends recommended this place. We walked 20 minutes from the school and prepared to have authentic Mexican food. This place smelled exactly like other restaurants in Mexico smelled like. Not only that, but being greeted in Spanish made it feel like I was back home. From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with a smile and saw the cooks preparing the food we were ordering. We grabbed a menu and immediately saw what we wanted to order. Once we had ordered, we sat outside, as it was a sunny day. This place is known for a lot of food like burritos, but we went for their other highlight, which is their chilaquiles. Not only that, the cochinita pibil (braised pork cooked in the ground), and you can add an egg on top since this restaurant is a breakfast and lunch place. Eating in a lot of different Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area, I've eaten a good amount of chilaquiles. By far, these had to be the best ones I've had; the sauce used wasn't too spicy, which didn't overpower the dish, and the fried tortilla wasn't too soggy, giving it that perfect crunch. The pork was cooked perfectly where it was tender to the touch, and the egg, I like over easy eggs, was cooked to perfection. To wash this down, I also ordered an agua de Jamaica (hibiscus water) that wasn't too sweet or sour; it was perfect and refreshing for the warm day. The restaurant itself is very clean; the menu is very easily explained. You can see the people cooking everything; even the owner gets involved, helping by taking orders or even making them. This feels like a very homey environment where everyone is welcomed; the food tasted like it as well.Make sure you're there early; if you miss it, you'll miss your chance for great food.

Mexican-inspired breakfast in West Portal? Yes, please. With only 8 tables of two except one four-seater, Lucho's is a tiny spot, but it gets packed for breakfast/brunch, so I met up with a friend at 9am and got a table on a Sunday.Service is efficient, professional, with bottomless coffee. The Linda was nicely scrambled egg whites with veggies and my friend had a big breakfast burrito. I also ordered bunuelos for my daughter to-go and it's not overly sweet, with just enough sugar and cinnamon on the cakey donut holes. Somehow, I wasn't full afterwards, so I had cereal after I got home.

I was really excited to finally try out what influencers call one of the better breakfast burritos in the area but I was as impressed as they make it seem. The flavors were pretty one note with the potatoes tasting more like boiled potatos than "home potatos" and the cochinita pibil wasn't heavy flavored enough to carry the potato & egg mixture. The tortilla was good and the toasted it nicely.Their hot sauce which i presume is homemade was separated and the container they supplied with the burrito contained about a ketchup packets worth of sauce. The staff seemed friendly enough but service was a bit lacking. They took my order and said 10 minutes which is fine but turned out to be closer to 25 minutes for a takeout breakfast burrito. All in all I'd prolly give them another chance one day but not in a rush to spend $18 for a mid breakfast burrito. Hopefully it was just an off day.

We ordered their chilaquiles with carnitas and a side of the pineapple upside down pancake. The chilaquiles were perfectly made and paired well with their orange & green sauces. It's a big portion, so definitely thought we could've ordered their half size. The pineapple pancake was fluffy and tasted good, however, I thought the pineapple flavor was lacking. I also tried their Mexican coffee and it was sweet & delicious! I'd come back to try their other dishes. Came here on a Saturday morning at 9:30am and we easily got a table to dine-in. There is limited seating inside, so definitely come early if you don't want to wait for a table inside. You order and & pay at the cashier first, and then sit at your table. Service was attentive and nice!

I've been to this place a few times now, and I always make sure to get the chilaquiles because they're really good. I also tried the hibiscus tea--nothing special, but I didn't dislike it. My boyfriend has had the eggs Benedict and really enjoys it. The place gets busy, and the ordering process might be a little confusing for first-timers since you order first and then grab a table. It's a small spot, so be prepared to sit close to others. Everything else is self-service, which I don't mind at all.Overall, it's a great breakfast/brunch spot, and we'll definitely be back!

I'm not usually one to be blown, but i was blown away by this spot. The food was really good and made fresh. The restaurant was lively with chatter and laughter by both guests and workers. But best of all, the service was astounding. The interactions felt familial, and the regulars made the place feel homie.Would certainly come againBig Mitch

Ordering is so easy and you get to choose your seat. Everybody who works there is so kind and treats you like family. Even though it's self serve, we had our water refilled and Togo boxes brought to us. We both got the half size chilaquiles which was a generous portion and SO yummy. Ps don't sleep on the coffee it's bomb. Thank you Lucho for your hospitality we will be back asap :D

Luchos is a good Mexican restaurant for breakfast, brunch, and lunch which is located on Ocean avenue at the Lakeside Village in San Francisco . There are limited tables available but a good early meeting place for family, friends , the brunch bunch, the squad, et cetera . They serve different types of foods like empanadas, omelets, pancakes ,and tacos. My go to here are chilaquiles with the runny eggs. They also serve all kinds of beverages. Grab some Champagne by the glass or bottle,Try the chilaquiles with a side of avocado

Small spot with a good sized menu serving up some great breakfast options! Everything on the menu from sweet to savory sounded really good, seriously wish we could've tried so much more, but ultimately we went with the half order Chilaquiles and added chorizo, and the birria eggs Benedict to share. While both were good, the Chilaquiles were the star of the morning. Seriously delicious, and oh so filling - for real, that half portion is huge. While we only added the chorizo, I think I'd add a couple more items on next time and just go with that because it was so good. You order and pay at the counter, then food gets delivered to your table. Service was friendly and quick, they definitely try to turn those tables around, but don't make you feel rushed at all.
