I LOVEEE LOVING LOVE KHAO SWE :)))i'm giving them a solid 4.5 if i could cus i feel so grateful to have stumbled upon this authentic burmese food that taste so good and isn't overpriced like a certain burmese place,,,their food is soooo good. having the chance to try different dishes in the burmese culture has me in loveeee. i had a few chances to try their stuff like their pork belly and noodle soups (my fave is their pork belly that they haven't offered in so long *cries). i feel like they're super friendly and trying to make themselves more accessible by partnering up with pastel and making their own on the side with their own delivery as well. i'm giving them only a 4.5 because they would offer the same thing on pastel weekly without changing their menu at all which makes it hard to try their wide variety of options they use to offer in the past. even when they open preorders on their own, it's often the same as they offer on pastel (i totally understand since it's a small at home food business, i do.) i hope to try other stuff when they change it up from time to time. just as a suggestion, it would be nice if they can list what they make on a menu tab on their website. i know their menu changes a lot but if people don't have ig and want to look on their site for what they use to offer would showcase their work more. i know they have pictures of their food but if they could include the text of what we are looking at would help much more. i look forward to trying more of their stuff, if they have a restaurant in works that would be so dopeeee. there's just not enough representation in sf, burma superstar is lowkey overrated sooo love y'all and i stan y'all ;)

Updating review to include my additional experience with their seasonal offerings. Still think Love Khao Swe is an excellent place to get some humbly made Burmese food delivered to you!- Jet Tha Joh (Burmese Fried Chicken Tray)Definitely not your typical fried chicken. It wasn't crunchy, but it was definitely jerky-like, and as such, it was difficult to eat and swallow, as the entire pieces of chicken had the jerky texture. I have all of my teeth but it still was super hard to eat the chicken! On the positive side, the sauces were delicious (one was a tangy savory one, and the other was a green chutney) as well as the accompanying sides. Lots of rice to be had in this dish! The steamed garlic chickpeas were very interesting, because they were a lot mushier than how I normally have them, and super flavored with melty shallots and garlic. The turmeric sticky rice balls were very cute, chewy, and sticky. The salad it came with was mostly cabbage mixed with some cucumber and tomato, but still refreshing. There was a side of ground sesame that I just sprinkled over everything. While the chicken was the least valuable player of the tray, it's still a cute presentation and will appeal to those who love to constantly chew.- Mohinga (Fish Chowder Noodle Soup)Fishy savory broth! I like the soft homemade fish cake slices as well as the contrast with the fried split pea fritter pieces. There is a lemongrass flavor to the broth that's not strong at all. Adding their homemade garlic chili oil gave the entire thing a big kick! Asian comfort food done well.- Nan Pia Thoke (Coconut Chicken Noodle Salad)That's a lot of noodles! It's a very pretty presentation with the shaved onions and cilantro. It mainly tastes like a light savory coconut curry noodle dish, eaten at somewhat room temperature. Chicken comes in easy to eat bite-sized pieces, and the noodles have a thicker chew than Love Khao Swe's other noodles.- Pandan HalawaVery yummy mochi-like dessert! I was extremely surprised, especially after the disappointment of having a dark and murky green color on mine compared to the bright green of the photos. You'd be surprised at how much flavor these things pack, and I love that you can eat it at both room temperature and heated for differing textures (firmer rice cake chew vs goopy mochi). It's such a subtle sweetness from the pandan with a lot of toasty nuttiness, almost like sesame. The poppy seeds add a pleasing grainy texture to the bites. Would always order this for a nice sweet treat if available.

Again, a food service provider/company led me her to try them.A former coworker introduced me to Burmese food back in the '90's but I haven't had this cuisine in years. There were a few on Clement St. as well as a longtime restaurant on California near 6th Avenue that I frequented when I used to work in the neighborhood.Window shopping on the food consolidator's website, I saw a photo of and the description for this vendor and one of the offered menu items. I thought of my GF sensitive friend in ordering two bowls which we both cooked up about a week later for lunch coincidentally on the same day. It was nicely packed (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=QzmTZcfiZiNakzaaIAW1qQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), well organized, and came with cooking instructions. I had the Ohn No Khao Swe (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=iOi-01Nj8jKsl4PV0wgCrw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), a Burmese coconut noodle soup; being gluten free, I placed an order for my friend to try too. I was a little skeptical about whether I'd enjoy this. The simple description is Burmese coconut chicken noodle soup. Thoroughly enjoyed eating this. This version has rice noodles, making this a gluten friendly meal. From the broth and noodles to the variety of vegetables and proteins (coconut curry chicken, cilantro, red onions, and crispy fried rice noodles), this bowl hit all notes. One minor technical error was that I did not confirm my untouched prepared meal was saved to my phone before devouring that bowl. Absolutely LOVED that the soft boiled egg was perfectly runny (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=iOi-01Nj8jKsl4PV0wgCrw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). The lime and chili sauce provided on the sauce each gave an added kick to this meal.Shortly afterwards, my friend asked me when I would be ordering again so it was an automatic to start shopping again. It's telling when you can taste food that is made with love, meaning love of their craft and creating something to be enjoyed. Give this one a try. I'll be trying another menu item on my next order besides a repeat on this one.

This mother/daughter duo serves hearty home cooked Burmese food and operates from their home kitchen. To place an order, just visit their website: https://lovekhaoswe.wixsite.com/lovekhaoswe and use their order form. Preorders are available as of Saturday with Wednesday being the last day to order at 12pm. Their menu changes weekly and their new menu is available on Saturdays. When placing an order, you need to select your date of delivery and delivery time window, select your dish(es) with the option to customize. If the dish(es) you select aren't customizable, you'll be contacted by LKS. After submitting your order, you'll receive an email confirmation with the dish(es) you selected. Pre-order payment must be made before your scheduled delivery date and time. Payment is through Venmo and/or Zelle. Delivery is contactless and you'll receive a text from your driver when he/she is on the way with an ETA within your delivery time slot. Upon arrival, driver will drop off your food to your door and call/text before he/she leaves for the next delivery. There is a small delivery fee and I think it may vary depending on where you're located. The dishes on their menu rotate weekly - rotating between noodle, biryani, and curry. Their signature dishes don't rotate out: Ohn No Khao Swe, Nan Pia Thoke, Phaluda, and Pandan Halawa. I've tried the Mohinga (Fish Chowder Noodle Soup), Ohn No Khao Swe (Coconut Chicken Noodle Soup), Nan Pia Thoke (Coconut Chicken Noodle Salad), and Nan Pia Thoke (Coconut Tofu Noodle Salad - Vegan), and Burmese Fried Chicken tray. I've had Mohinga home cooked by a family friend and also had it at restaurants. It's a fish-based soup prepared with rice noodles, and flavored with lemongrass which is considered as the national dish in Burma. LKS' version is very hearty and good comfort food as it's bursting with flavors such as lemongrass. It comes with rice noodles, fish cakes, hard boiled egg, split pea crisps, and lime wedges. The dry chili flakes provided on the side gives the soup a nice kick. The Nan Pia Thoke is a cold noodle salad topped with curry chicken, hardboiled egg, red onions, and herbs. This dish was good cold, but my family enjoyed it even more the next day warmed up as all the flavors soaked into the noodles. The Pandan Halawa is a Burmese mochi, which I enjoyed as it wasn't too sweet. I've enjoyed ordering from Love Khao Swe as their ordering process is simplistic, and they're very responsive. I do want to note the driver one time forgot my soup and when I called LKS, I was able to get a hold of someone right away. Although the driver ended up redelivering the soup, he/she left it at the wrong house, which was a nuisance, but I got over it as their food is oh so yummy! The food is as beautiful as the pictures on their IG (even in their to-go containers). Portions are spectacular!

Delicious Burmese food by people that care about what they cook! We ordered in at work for a celebration and the quality and quantity way beyond my expectations. Lots of prawns, rice was fluffy and all the condiments made the dish fresh and delectable.

Ordered my first meal from them using Discoverpastel, otherwise I'd probably never have tried their food since I'm in the east bay. This was my first time ever trying Burmese food. I ordered the Ohn No Khao Swe, which is a coconut chicken noodle soup. All of the ingredients came in separate containers, making it very easy to heat up the soup separately from everything else. Very easy instructions to prepare it and it tasted damn near close to being fresh. I liked that the soup had a bit of thickness to it. It was hearty with a good amount of sweetness and some heat added from the red chili flakes they add. The flavors worked together very well. To top it off, there was a good amount of noodles, chicken, and veggies in the soup. It's something I'd order every weekend with no hesitation. This home-cooked food tastes like it should be served in restaurants around the bay.

If you like tasty, home-cooked food at spectacular portions, you need to order from Love Khao Swe. I am a total sucker for the pink-hued Phaluda - not just because it's utterly Instagram-able but because it's full of delicious jellies. All the dishes are rather beautiful (even in their to-go boxes), topped with fresh micro-greens or vibrantly sliced red onion. We've tried almost everything on the menu and enjoyed it.

I just had my first order from Love Khao Swe, and I cannot recommend their food enough. I opted for their tofu/veggie version of their curry noodle soup. The soup was incredibly tasty and not spicy, but there's a red pepper spice one can add which I highly recommend. It looks fiery, but wasn't -- just added more interesting flavor. The tofu is pressed, so it was very filling. I'm not sure why but the thinly sliced red onion added the most delightful taste to the dish. The soft-boiled egg was perfectly cooked with the yolk somewhat soft but not runny. The amount of food is plentiful even though it might not look it at first glance. I'm a big eater and I was more than satisfied.Lucky for me, I had to add something to make the $20 minimum for delivery, so I chose the dessert. Not expecting much since I'm not a huge dessert person, I gobbled up what was probably enough for 3 to 4 people. I do like mochi which the dessert was similar to. The tiny bits of coconut added great texture to every bite.Having the food delivered to my door after pre-ordering early in the week made my Friday evening super relaxing! I didn't have to think about what to have for dinner or whether it was worth going out to pick something up. Normally, I avoid the predatory delivery services, but the in-house delivery made the entire experience wonderfully guilt-free. BTW, the food was as beautiful as the pictures on the website.
