This is one of my favorite and top spots in SF for Thai food in the city! It's deep in the hood but damn, the food is so good. Get delivery if you don't want to dine in but I feel they have the most authentic and flavorful menu. So good, can't go wrong here! Anything you order will be delicious and be warned of the spice level! You could literally come here with a large party and have an 8 course Thai dinner feast given the extensive menu. Some of my favorite dishes:Papaya Salad with raw crabGrilled beef saladLarbCrispy pork belly with basilThai boat noodle

We ordered classic chili paste venison fillet, papaya salad raw crab, and Thai boat noodle soup beef. The venison was a dry curry, with young peppercorns adding both flavor and visual variety. The raw crab salad was very interesting, with the sauce permeating the green papaya, though I feel the crab could have been marinated in the sauce for longer. The boat noodles were very interesting, with a sweet and savory flavor profile. The spicy dishes tend to be a bit spicier than a typical Americanized Thai place, so order one spice level below what you usually get (e.g. medium instead of spicy).

Had a chance to try Lers Ros a while back and overall liked my experience here even though the service felt a little rushed. This joint is located in the tenderloin area so can be a little sketch to get there, but the food is unique and tasty. This place has some interesting things to try if you are interested like alligator, frog, venison etc, but it also boasts all the Thai OG dishes. There is a lot of options from things you can order whether you are going traditional or experimental.During my time here I tried the pad see ew with chicken which was very flavorful and delicious. I enjoyed every bite here and the flavors felt authentic. I also tried the green curry here which was also delicious. I definitely went traditional here, but want to come back to try the experimental dishes next time!

Finally got a chance to try this Larkin St location out. In a no nonsense neighborhood in the tenderloin no doubt, but everyone says this is the holy Grail. Being in an authentic neighborhood where the food is excellent I guess it's the place to be. If you like spicy, this is the place for you. They really have spicy food we had The skewers. We had the pan fried rice noodle, and we had yellow curry, shrimp, and some pork dish, which I can't remember what it was, but it was really well received. We also had the soup which was really spicy, which we started laughing because one of our friends asked for additional spices and they brought the three spices that you can add to stuff in one of them was crazy hot and then it was already so hot. I would put it as the highest scale that I normally can handle, but I'm sure for Thai food. It's a half scale hot for them, but it's very authentic the freshness the kitchen, the attentive staff they were checking in with us they, I even overheard them said that they can make things less spicy if you don't like your dish, they gave us copious amount of water. But what a great time the plate settings are really nice. I have to call that out because it's really a simple backdrop, but the table service and how nice the China is in the menus are excellent and just the personal service adds a simple but yet elegant backdrop for the grade dishes and the service staff at this location worked till 11 PM which is a miracle in San Francisco on a weeknight. This is an oasis and a desert of food and you know to watch out for your personal safety this area so do you take a lift here but this place is a beacon of light and I'm so glad we ate here and all my friends were thrilled.

Impressive thai food! Authentic flavors and so many options, especially seafood options (yay!!) I will say that their dishes are pretty spicy, true to thai food, but they can adjust the spice if you ask. Great service, cute interior. Highly recommend! I'll be back a lot.

Solid DoorDash spot open pretty late. Was really happy with the yellow curry and pad see ew. The curry was really flavorful and came in a good sized tub. Rice was not included and added separately. Pad see ew was filling and flavorful as well.

Shame on me for never doing a review on Lers Ros until now. I've frequented this place more than any Thai place in the city. It's the best Thai I've had in the city certainly. I've had like 8 different things here and it's always reliable. There's some real adventurous stuff on the menu that I can't go for. But your typical Thai offerings are all money. This place has multiple locations which always worries me when it comes to consistent quality. I can't tell you what to get because it's all been good. Is there better Thai food in the world? Yeah probably, but as far as San Francisco is concerned I'll put this up against anything. (4.8 Stars)

Delicious food spot that I would recommend to everyone. The 4 of us got variety of dishes. They were all tasty. Customer service was friendly. Luckily, we went during weekday, maybe that's why it wasn't crowded. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices

Lers Ros, an esteemed Thai restaurant celebrated for its distinctive and sophisticated cuisine, has garnered a loyal following. My friends and I have visited the Larkin Street location on several occasions. While it took me a long time to compose this review, I felt it was essential to share my experience.During one of our visits years ago, we sampled their alligator meat, a unique offering at the time. Unfortunately, the texture did not appeal to me, as it was somewhat slimy. At least I can say that I have had alligator and didn't like it.Apart from the alligator, the other dishes we tried since were fairly standard Thai fare, failing to leave a lasting impression. I found the restaurant to be on the pricier side, with portions that seemed rather modest. Despite dining there, I left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry. The modern, quirky decor, while minimalistic, felt rather confining and did not contribute to the ambiance one might expect from a mid-range dining establishment. Lers Ros did not meet my expectations in terms of value or dining experience.

Me and my mom decided to give it a try when we saw the Top 100 Bay Area Restaurants sign. There was so much to choose from, but since we were trying a new cuisine we just went with the seafood soup, vegetable fried rice, chicken satay, and sticky rice w/ strawberry ice cream for dessert. We weren't a big fan of the soup, there were too much contrasting flavors. But the chicken satay was absolutely delicious (with or without the sauces) and the sticky rice with strawberry ice cream was insanely good. The staff were also very polite and served us right away, and were willing to make changes even after we'd already ordered. I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!
