Saturday morning. Set your alarms. Be there. Get the custard and nutella bombolinis. Cannoli was eh but those filled bombolinis...man oh man. Sweetest workers along with the sweetest pastries made this farmers market adventure a dream. S/O to the nearby blue bottle site for completing this breakfast of champions.

The donuts were not bad, but not great either. They were a bit too sweet for my taste. The dough was a bit dense and dry. The glaze was too sugary. I might give them another chance, but I'm not sure.

Unfortunately questionable food handling practices. We were walking through the Ferry Building and saw these huge pillowy bombolini's (Nutella, raspberry, pistachio, custard) and were so excited to try this! Bought one of the custard ones to save for later and when the time came...took one bite (which was soft and pleasantly full of custard), looked down and there was a hair embedded in the dough. Super unfortunate, but hopefully a one time thing.

Bomboloni: 3/5Service: 4/5Ambiance: 4/5Overall: Not too bad for a sweet treat. But perhaps maybe because they were sitting out it didn't seem too fresh. The extended review...Raspberry Bomboloni: Visually very appealing and decent in taste. The only thing is it didn't seem as fresh when I ate it.Service: Friendly service.Ambiance: This is a kiosk in the ferry building which is a great setting.

Jeez, to the people who gave one star reviews because it doesn't exist... this place only shows up at the Saturday Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market! It's normally near the Chinese restaurant that sells hum bao during this time. It's a small stand... but they're one of the stands I visit every time I go to the Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market! They're cheap, tasty, fluffy, and make a nice snack or breakfast to go with your Blue Bottle Coffee. ^_^

I came here on a Saturday morning. I've heared about bombolonis and just HAD to try one! The lady had a cart with both bombolonis in 3 flavors: chocolate, custard, and some sort of red fruit...probably strawberry. She also had cannolis in 2 falors: custard and chocolate. So I tried a custard bombolini ($2.50) and a chocolate cannoli ($3.50)I guess I had different expectations from both. I was hoping they would be warm and crispy (cannoli). But the dough on both were the sam: chewy and covered in ground sugar. Although I did not like the dough part, the filling was amazing. The chocolate one tasted like pudding and there was a generous amount in the cannoli one, but not so much in the bomboloni...but that could be me loving LOTS of custard!Everyone has different tastes in foods, and this is just mine :] I'm glad I finally got to try one though :]

I stopped by based on the long line for bombolonis. Most customers were ordering a six pack in a box, but I went with a single chocolate/almond bomboloni.Service was friendly by the employee. However, taste was somewhat disappointing, especially with all the other tasty bakeries nearby. The bomboloni tasted somewhat stale and dry, and too caky. On the other hand, the filing was tasty! I wish they had provided more filing.

So this is a pop- up booth selling bombolinis - Italian deep- fried donuts filled with jelly or velvety smooth, and luscious pastry cream. It is better to get them fresh especially in the early morning. This is only available during Saturday's SF Ferry Building Farmer's Market at 9am. This pop- up is located at the left- hand corner of The Specialty Store. There is another pop- up selling handmade kettle chips in a variety of flavors (vidalia onion, truffle, sour cream & chives, sea salt). More on the kettle-cooked chips on another post.So I bought 3 bombolinis: pistachio cream, lemon cream & raspberry jelly. OMG! The pastry creams like lemon and pistachio are out of this world & so amazing. A velvety smooth pistachio pastry cream was divine in a soft donut. The donut was ok- meh. I wish they could have improved on the donut recipe. The donuts were a great starter for the Chikorita event. But I was looking forward eating the pistachio donut, and was satisfied. Highly recommend the pistachio and lemon cream.

Quiet little stand in the Ferry Building at the Saturday morning farmers market in SF. But the bombolinis were the "bomb"! Tried the pistachio, chocolate almond, vanilla custard and blackberry. Yes we tried them all. ALL were excellent with the favs being the pistachio and chocolate almond for us. No artificial filling here. If you're not careful, you could walk right by this place on a busy Saturday. I wish I could give better directions but didn't pay enough attention. Just read the other reviews and keep asking around at the market and you'll eventually find it... I hope, because you don't want to miss it. Bon Appetite!
