Uniqueness: Home of the best Mission burrito (ranked #1 in 2019)Wait Time: *** (Long line, but worth it)Food Quality: ***** (Steak burrito was incredible)Service: **** (Fast once you order, but expect a wait)Setting: **** (Casual, no-frills, but classic taqueria vibes)Cost: **** (Reasonable for the quality)La Taqueria lives up to the hype--the steak burrito was incredible, packed with flavor and wrapped up just right. The line was long, but totally worth it. Once you order, service is fast and efficient, and while the space is simple, it's all about the food here. Definitely a spot I'll return to whenever I'm in the area!

Two years ago, La Taqueria was one of the first places I visited when I was in SF. I wasn't super blown away and was left unsatisfied. Fast forward to 2025, I had one of the best burritos in my life! Turns out, you have to get it regular instead of super. Request it crispy so they can press it on the grill. Loved the size, the steak and everything in between. The guacamole could be so much better, that's my only gripe. Also, come early to avoid long lines. You should be able to find a seat easily.

When people talk about the best taquerias in the Mission, or even all of SF, La Taqueria is one of the iconic ones that almost always comes up in conversion. And for good reason! This place is one of my personal favorites, if not THE personal favorite. They are known for not putting rice in their burritos, which is controversial to some, but I personally prefer it. You feel much better afterwards and keeps it more flavor packed. This place used to be cash only but now accepts credit card.Pros:-No rice in burrito!-Tacos are HUGE, especially if you get the super one. One taco is about the same amount of food as half a burrito-Carne Asada super flavorful and other ingredients very freshCons:-Be prepared to wait, this place is popular-Menu is relatively limited compared to other places, but they have all the essentials (burrito, taco, quesadilla)-No al pastor, which is my favorite-The sauces are not as good as other places, and there are not as many options either-Not open late at night like the other places, so you can't come here after a night out on the bars

I've frequented La Taqueria a handful of times now that I've lived in SF over a year. I was raised in the east bay and spent a couple years in San Diego and San Jose, so my expectations for great Mexican food may be higher than most, so I knew I had to try this place after this establishment has been touted as the city's best taqueria. What I get has been the carne asada super burrito dorado style, and their burritos are different than most because they don't have the typical scoop of rice. The burrito itself is good but not the best I've had and have found the ingredients used individually are nice but doesn't come together to form something amazing as much as I wish it would. The meat is juicy and plentiful, the tortilla is fresh and tastes really good especially when grilled dorado style and combined with the melted cheese, it's great. Rice feels sorely missing from the burrito and it doesn't come out stuffed like other places do. It's still a quality burrito for what it is but I don't crave this burrito and don't go out of my way for it. I also ordered the chips, salsa and guacamole last night this time and found the salsa to be really flavorful but the guacamole extremely tasteless. The establishment is your typical taqueria on the inside but last night there was a gentleman serenading the room while playing guitar, which was delightful. The food does come out quickly, even when there's a long line.

You order at the hostess stand. Pay at the counter, get a ticket and they'll call your number. Service was fast. I ordered a carne asada super burrito. I thought hey this is good but Michelin?? Hmm idk about that. I could hit any hole in the wall place in LA or Houston/Austin/San Antonio and it would blow this place out of the water. Although, I have had bad Mexican food in the mission. I also ordered the strawberry agua Fresca and it was ok. I just expected more. There's a single bathroom for men and women. Super tiny. The meat was really tough to eat. Everything else was good but not amazing. Tortilla and avocado were good. And they did pack it with meat.

If you're in the mood for great tacos and burritos served quickly in a lively atmosphere, this Mexican spot hits the mark. The place is almost always crowded, with locals filling the indoor seating, but despite the bustle, the service is impressively fast -- you'll be digging into your meal in no time. Both the tacos and burritos are standouts. The tacos come with a perfect balance of flavors, whether you opt for crispy or soft shells, while the burritos are generously stuffed and packed with savory meats which we chose chicken, carne asada and carnitas. The real gem here, though, is the green salsa -- conveniently available in bottles on each table. It's tangy with just the right amount of heat, and it pairs perfectly with both the tacos and burritos, adding an extra layer of flavor. The atmosphere is casual and vibrant, with the energy of the crowd adding to the experience. Although it can get a little cramped when it's packed, the fast service ensures you're never waiting long for your meal. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a casual meal with friends, this place delivers on flavor and speed, making it a local favorite for tacos and burritos.

Cool spot, line out the door filled with locals! I like my food with a baggie of carrots, radish and jalapeños but they didn't have! The lengua were chopped into a very smooth texture, different than what I've seen before. Could have been five stars if it had more flavor.Definitely good portion size for the price. Try the mango drink!!

Always a great experience. The scene is very lively and the burritos are grilled to perfection. Service is fast and inside I always come when there is usually the mariachi that comes by. A great experience to have La Taquerias amazing burritos and tacos. My favorite is the Asada burrito dorado style (grilled on the outside). Also the carnitas tacos are a great addition with amazing aguas frescas. Beautiful decor inside. Take out window outside for convenience.

Hands down easily one of the best taquerias in the city! They're known for their rice-less burritos but also have delicious tacos, quesadillas and more. You might see a line when you arrive, most of the time there is always a line - but don't worry, it moves fast! My friend and I waited only 24 mins on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm. Worth the wait!Parking is very tough here, best if you park in the neighborhoods or uber over.
