Tried this place while we stayed at the Nikko! Super cute and they have a mock tail menu which was so fun! The bartender was kind and happy to serve us even though they were getting ready to close.

Four stars for the ambiance. Extremely limited hours- 30 minutes BEFORE a Feinstein's show and 30 minutes after a show. It's hard to get in, order, pay, and enjoy your beverage...feels very rushed. Obviously its the only place to get anything while waiting for the show seatings, so I guess I wish it was open a bit earlier to avoid the frenzy. I like to relax and enjoy myself before a show...

Decent cocktail. But when you write "$2 dollars of the proceeds will be donated" it doesn't mean "we're adding $2 to the printed price".Rocket Dog is awesome but this is hella misleading.Good bartender; not his fault. Not going to get on his case about it.

Do not recommend this place. Service was horrible. We got our food way before drinks. They didn't check on us. We had to go up and ask if they were going to take our order after 25 mins of waiting. We also had to ask for our check. Food was okay not horrible that's why it earns the one star!

The ambiance at the Kanpai Lounge is elegant and inviting. Went there for a drink on a Friday. End up having a truffle flatbread for dinner and it was simply awesome. To top it off, they had a wonderful pianist playing live jazz music for a couple of hours. It was the best moment of my week. Will certainly return soon.

Great place to stop by. Looks bigger in the yelp pictures than it was when I went. But still good chill vibe.Drinks: Swanky. Bougie. But very strong and fresh. Get any, kind of overpriced.

My first review was going to start out sounding something like I love love love this place....Yeah well that was before I was served. I've had a raspberry lemon drop in the past while at Crusteans. So I asked if she (she said her name was GG and she had a french accent) could make a raspberry lemon drop. She looked a little confused, but she's a certified bar tender right? So she gave me a drink of vodka and raspberry puree with two tart ass raspberry on top for decoration. The drink was tart and so was the damn raspberries, I couldn't finish it. I immediately sent it back and asked for a regular lemon drop. While sipping the nasty ass lemon drop I thought to myself, "I'm going to finish my drink and leave." Well, that was until I saw GG make a drink for another (Caucasian) lady. The woman asked for a Moscow Mule w/ginger beer. I watched GG make her drink. She added the regular amount measured with the standard silver measuring cup and she added more Vodka directly from the bottle. I thought to myself "Yasssss, that looks good and strong." So, I asked GG for the same exact drink. She said "Moscow Mule" and looked at the woman's drink, I said yes. Needless to say I didn't get the extra freehand shot the other lady got. So, instead of paying for both drinks I sent the nasty lemon drop back too! I was going to pay for my Moscow Mule (minus the extra shot lol) and say fuck it, I'll complain on yelp. Well even better GG sent the manager over. Long story short Ms. Dominique who's a new manager really didn't give a real fuck either.

We stayed in the hotel and on our last night here after dinner nearby, I wasn't ready to go to bed and end my San Fran visit! I brought my book down to the empty Kanpai Lounge and sat near the window. I can't now remember my server's name, but he was gracious and friendly. He brought me a little trio of snacks that I didn't think I'd need or want since I had just finished dinner but of course ate them! I stayed for a little while and had 2 lychee martinis that were really delicious. It's too bad that when I walked in on a Saturday night there were only 2 other women sitting at the bar then they left and it was just me. I would definitely suggest this for someone staying in the hotel to get a swanky drink in an upscale and lush environment. I'd also say that someone working nearby should catch a drink with a friend after work here too!

Wonderful location and super Chic girly! Great place to get together with friends. Lots of little niches in Hotel Nikko to meet clients or have quick one on one chat. The service is top notch and ambience is wonderful. Drinks are good... a bit pricy. Close to union square and Bart. highly recommend.!
