It's been a while since I last came here. I usually get a rice plate or rice noodle soup dish. This is a restaurant that also serves Chinese BBQ items. The restaurant is your typical Asian diner/eatery with kinda sticky tables and Chinese speaking staff. It's your standard 3-star, nothing fancy, local eatery serving supposedly inexpensive and filling dishes. We came here for lunch with intention to get some roast duck but kinda got sucked into the server's pace/enthusiasm on ordering. She recommended the roast goose, which only came in 1/2 or whole portions. The customer next to our table said it was good so convinced, we decided to yet it (wish we had the foresight to ask the price of it first). Then she recommends a combo plate with duck and choice of BBQ pork or roast pork. We opted for the BBQ pork. She said we are just missing a veggie dish and recommended the mustard greens. She said it's stir fried with ginger and garlic with a drizzle of Chinese wine to give it an aromatic flavor. We asked if white rice was included but she said it's for an extra charge so we decided to get fried rice instead. Food came fairly quickly and portions were decent. The goose arrived room temperatured, was meaty and decently flavorful. When the combo plate came, it was hot. The duck was very good - in my opinion it's better than the goose. Bbq pork was piping hot, lean (which I'm fine with) but the flavor is just ok and it doesn't have the honey sheen to it. I've had better bbq pork elsewhere. The mustard greens and fried rice were normal good. Biggest surprise was the bill. It came out to an eye opening, jaw dropping $85! It turns out the goose plate alone was $36! The bbq pork/duck combo plate was $18. I was expecting the bill to be in the $50s.Overall the food was fine (the duck was really good - definitely get that), but it's hard to justify 4 dishes at an Asian diner/eatery to be a hundred dollar meal (after tip). They should definitely change the dollar sign for this place to $$ at least. It's not the $ days like it was in the past/pre-covid. Cash only. Also, ALWAYS confirm the price before ordering. 3.5 stars

Haven't been back for 3+ years and sadly the food has gone down.I ordered a steam chicken which was one of their old BBQ staple and it was not good. The chicken tasted like a 3 day old chicken. Business also has slowed . This is at 11:50AM and there are no business.

This place is a pretty decent deal. For service, speak either Canto or Mando. No-frills. Nothing fancy. Just the basics--the pork porridge is decent with tender meat. Can't complain. The marinated assortment with rice has various organs and good visceral bits. The duck heart is tougher than I'd expect or like. Decent duck tongue. I'd love pork intestine in the assortment, but I understand the omission given pricing. This place, interestingly, was out of pork stomach at 11 in the morning.

I have to admit I've only been here once, but I already think this should be considered required dining in Chinatown. Between this and the tarts at Golden Gate Bakery (if it ever reopens), you've got a pretty good start on the prototypical Chinatown sustenance experience. I only became aware of this spot from a youthful vlogger who convincingly raved about the portions they serve here and how she's been coming here for years since it was such a good deal. It's on the corner of Broadway and Powell, so you'd expect it to be busy during the lunch hour. However, I got lucky and had to wait only for a senior woman who was buying a whole roast duck and having it chopped in a very peculiar way. I didn't see a menu or really have an opportunity to ask for one since the two men behind the counter were busy chopping meat and filling takeout cartons. Good thing I knew what I wanted though and ordered the $7.75 Roast Duck Plate (photo: https://yelp.to/_hME3M1-K5).I was amazed at how much duck I got and how much rice was underneath. I asked for some boiled cabbage just to break up the carbs and got it. I didn't eat it here but took it to nearby Woh Hei Yuen Park (review: https://yelp.to/XwtIch49ZB). Big mistake. The picnic tables were taken, so I had to sit on a bench where my duck was attracting a flock of hungry pigeons. Even with my arms flailing to wave the pigeons away, the duck was certainly tasty enough, and I'd definitely return.FOOD - 4 stars...incredibly cheap chunks of roast duck over rice. Tasty enough.AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...a no frills space with no menu in sightSERVICE - 3.5 stars..,they're not paid to be niceTOTAL - 4 stars...hungry in Chinatown?...come hereRELATED - Exploring Chinatown? Unassuming place a little bit far from the center of Chinatown. The place has been a long staple and must visit place if you want BBQ meats! I always come here for the roast pork or bbq meat to eat with my family. I came on a weekend just for a quick bite as I was craving some lo mein and meat. If you dine in, they serve you soup with your meal and your choir of tea or water. It is cash only so please plan ahead!

No frills Cantonese restaurant. Cash only. A friend and I stopped by for a quick lunch on a rainy day and their roasted duck wonton soup hit the spot. Would love to come back someday to try their roasted duck and pork; they looked really yummy! Service was also quick and efficient.

I was excited to try this place out but the food was just fine. I feel like there's better spots in the Richmond for roast meats. The lady was nice and is the only server so she's doing the best she can. Very lowkey spot, no frills, full of Chinese people.

At the edge of Chinatown by the tunnel. Parking is difficult so recommend taking public transit. The two meat rice plate is a good deal at $14. I like the char siu bbq pork and the crispy pork. The wonton noodles is also a great deal as it's under $6. Service can be a bit slow during lunchtime, if so, just grab their attention yourself. Pretty filling and cheap.

Can't believe I haven't written a review sooner. This is hubs' fave Chinese BBQ place, but it's a trek to make it to Chinatown to get his fix. When we are able to make it, hubs goes all out - roast pork, roast duck, salt and pepper fish, garlic green beans, eggplant, chow fun . . . We enjoy every dish. I'd say they make the best roast pork and roast duck. I'm not a huge roast duck person, but I like it from here - more meaty and not as fatty as other places. This place is busy. Non-stop customers and tables usually full. Cash only. There's only one waitress who takes orders and serves the tables, and she hustles. We're never disappointed when we visit here.

Absolutely the most fuckin disgusting place Ive been to from lack of food handling to zero customer service. The chef/ butcher guy collected money with his bare hands and then goes to chop the meat with the same hand. I offered to pay for extra duck sauce and got yelled at. Then was told to get out. WOW. What kind of animals are running this place?
