JJ Fish & Chicken - San Francisco

Right at the corner of 3rd St and Revere St. This is usually my go to spot for Fried Fish, chicken and Jumbo Shrimp. But this day wasn't as great as they normally are. Maybe because I went to pick it up around 6:30pm? Who knows. But service is usually good when i come in and they have desserts at the front which is always tempting, and they all taste so good. The fried Okra was good, the chicken was a bit overcooked and dry. The Spaghetti was wayyyyy too small for its size for the price of $6.49. Too expensive for such a small portion. Jumbo shrimp was on point as usual though.

I was excited to try this place while I was in town . I ordered fried red snapper , with collard greens , Mac & cheese , fries , mozzarella sticks , peach cobbler & lemonade . Upon pick up I was told they had no lemonade so I was able to choose a bottled beverage .The fish was ok . Not sure what meat they put in their collard greens since it's not listed anywhere . The Mac & cheese was edible but the noodles were super soft with a thick velveeta cheese. The fries were ok . The mozzarella sticks did not come with marinara . The peach cobbler was very basic , you can tell they don't prepare the peaches & just dump the can & bake it with crust over the top . Overall I was not very satisfied with the food & would rate it as mid .

I came by to get a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Found parking on the street without any problems. There was no one in line to order, though a few people were inside eating or waiting for their food. I ordered the 2 Fish Combo, with Catfish Filets and the Red Snapper, along with a Diet Coke. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be ready.My fish came with an order of fries, a small container of coleslaw, and 2 slices of white bread. The container was overflowing with food, which I dove in right away. The fish was very hot, and the breading had a good bite to it, with just enough salt to flavor the fish. The snapper was thicker than the catfish, but both tasted delicious. There was so much food, I took half of it home for a late night snack.Next time, I'll get the 3 fish combo or some fried chicken. Everything looks good on the menu.

A patient of mine recommended this spot years ago and I've had it bookmarked forever. Finally got the chance to come by (after a trip to Flora Grubbs) and kicked myself for not calling in my order in advance. We were probably there at 5pm on a Saturday so didn't expect the place to be busy but they were pretty slammed. No one is there for the ambiance - no one seated and eating - but a line to order, a handful of people waiting, and some smart folks picking up their advance orders.Split a large order of half catfish and half snapper. Think we ended up waiting 30 mins but the fish was definitely fried to order and sooooo good with the light cornmeal batter. It was a good amount of food and we will definitely be back (but pre-order)!

The food is fast and fried in fresh oil. Quick service, though I never really ate inside. I've always picked up to go, the best way to enjoy JJ's fish! Don't order delivery and get soggy fish!

The food was popping. I got the catfish and fries. It was really good. I also got a slice of caramel cake because it looked like the best cake that was being displayed and the way it tasted baby it was. I think caramel cake might be my favorite flavor now . The only thing I can say bad about this place is that flies are greeting you when you walk in, please fix that. Other than that no complaints from me.

This is not ordinary fish and chips .This is a great value. Delicious fish with tasty fries. The treat was the desserts were delicious. Next time I will try other menu items.

Craved fish and chips and this didn't disappoint. The portions were huge. I wish I knew to share but that's ok more leftovers for another meal. The fried okra was amazing and my favorite was the oysters. The French fries were delicious and I'm not even a huge French fry fan. The tartar and spicy sauce were good but wish I had vinegar to dip it in. Would order again.

I'm from Texas. Just moved to San Francisco about a month ago had JJ's fish and chicken for the first time and it's the closest thing to Mama's chicken back in Texas you JJ's will be back.
