I ordered the 8 ounce ground chuck burger with regular french fries. The burger was extremely juicy topped with a fluffy sesame bun. They only give you the bun and patty and you can grab your own toppings and sauces from the toppings bar. The burger itself seems to be unseasoned so I would put more sauce or salt the next time I come back. The dining area was quite small, barely fitting a small stool area at the window, two 2-seaters, and one 4-seater tables. I went on a Sunday at 2pm alone but there was enough seating for everyone who came in. They seem to keep the big front window open when it isn't that windy outside so the place isn't stuffy despite the small size of the restaurant.

Solid burger joint within walking distance of Golden Gate Park. Each burger is made-to-order and affordable (by SF standards). My favorite part was the self-service condiment bar; I got exactly what I wanted on my burger with the perfect amount of sauce-to-toppings ratio. More places should do it this way!! The service is friendly and fast. The inside dining space is limited, but has a warm greasy-spoon feel.

I've passed by this place so many times going to and coming from Golden Gate Park, but I had never stopped in until today. I was in the mood for a quick counter service vibe with local flair, so this fit the bill. While I still prefer the mini-chain Super Duper, not too far away, this was a nice homey experience to try.The Challenger Burger: A lot going on in this burger with cheese, bacon, avocado, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. Plus there's an unlimited toppings bar for all your fresh veggie and sauce needs. The beef patty was thick and firm, kinda like a nice backyard cook out burger. The bacon could have been crispier; not really a fan of it being all floppy. Lots of grilled mushrooms compared to the amount of grilled onions; kinda wish the ratio was reversed. It was filling and satisfying, so did the trick.Chili Cheese Fries: A nice throw back to diner hopping as a kid. The fries were fresh and crispy, standing up nicely to the chunky chili. Plus some shredded cheese on top. Pure comfort.

Great burger spot in the Inner Sunset. You can top your own burgers which is something I like because it's great to be able to customize. We previously tried their fried chicken and it was decent tho I prefer their burgers more. Small restaurant. Service was pleasant. Close to Golden Gate Park, DeYoung museum, Japanese Tea Garden, etc.

Checked this place out after recommendations from others. It was fine but not overly impressed. Everything was pretty straight forward and nice that they had a toppings bar but sorta wish some were more unique since it felt like you could get a lot of the toppings at any burger place. Orders were taken right away and not busy upon arriving. It's smaller inside but there's tables to sit inside. It felt slightly over priced for the quality and quantity.

Not sure why this place has such low reviews, came here on Monday noon and had a great meal! The inside is super small with no restroom, so just fyi, I had to run across to the bakery. Most people order to go since there's not much room inside. We got lucky and was able to sit at one of the 2 tables with our party of 4. The condiments and burger ingredients is self-serve, so we loaded our own burger with lettuce, pickles, and all the other fix ins. They also had tomatoes, onions, and other things. They also had multiple kinds of sauces; ketchup, mayonnaise, and a dressing that looked like their own burger sauce, tasted similar to that of in n out. My only complaint was that our orders took a veeeery long time, but it was definitely worth it and the waitress was super helpful when I requested an extra box to pack my leftover fries since my original box was all wet from my burger. - hamburger (5/5): This reminded me of the double double at in n out; a simple no frills burger, after being drenched in the burger sauce was booomb.com! - sweet potato fries (5/5): Your usual sweet potato fries, perfect amount of crisp and sweet potato for each oneOverall a super solid burger place, employees are all wonderful; minus the wait we will definitely be back soon!!

This is clearly the best burger joint in the neighborhood and just as clearly my favorite in the city. I love everything about it, but here are some highlights. First and most obvious, the burgers are on-point, flame-broiled on an ingenious swiveling cast-iron grill apparatus, served just a bit on the rare side of medium (love it - so juicy and flavorful), and the condiments/fixins are both free and self-applied. I love this last bit because I hate condiments and mayonnaise above all else, and I am guaranteed not to have this on my burger. Second, their milkshakes are excellent. I'm not talking about fancy (if you want fancy, there's a lovely ice cream parlor across the street), but just of generally high quality. For example, the chocolate shake is exactly what it should be - creamy, good flavor, good texture. And, really, that's the bottom-line of this place: basic stuff done exceptionally well. Third, these folks are fast. If I order on the phone, I barely have time to savor a wee dram of whisky before I need to head over to pick up my food. If there is a downside, it is the fries. They are just okay. But allow me to argue that this is not actually a downside. You don't need the fries. If you think that one of these robust, juicy burgers won't be enough to sate your (perhaps whisky-enhanced) appetite, order another patty on your burger. You'll love it all the more.

Burgers were huge and had a really good charbroiled taste. The self service toppings bar was probably my favorite part. The cheese on the fries was spicy but the taste of it was not my favorite. Would come back here my kids loved it too.

Amazing small spot walking distance from Golden Gate Park. Staff is wonderful and food is super good and affordable! Lunch combo with a burger, fries, and drink for $14. Burgers served plain and there is a toppings bar with an impressive variety. Portions are perfect for after a long walk in the park. The restaurant is on the small side, so it wouldn't be great for a larger party.
