BEST BAKERY I know of anywhere. I've been coming here since they opened, countless times now, and every time I enjoy seeing all the bakers hard at work! Really cool that the kitchen isn't hidden and we get to see the skills that go into the amazing food. And amazing it really is. No joke, everytime I give someone food from this place they smile, and there is a lot of variety to choose from (unless you come late). They also make items that you will never find elsewhere like the captain crunch or krazy cookies. It's obvious to see the passion they have for the food they make.Only downside is the line gets long, especially on the weekends ... but it never takes too long and it's well worth the wait (if there is one). Especially since the staff are friendly and some of the ones that have worked there the longest are the sweetest and so warm

Everything I've tried here is fantastic The Olive Polenta Bread, Twice-Baked Chocolate Croissants are my fave... Some of the best I've ever eaten... but... one problem:We got there a few minutes before they opened-up one morning. Freezing cold outside... The Front Door was open and we started going in, just to get out of the freezing cold. And this very "affected" man inside was very pissy and wouldn't allow us to come in out of the cold because some of their Delivery folks were using that door. We could have just went inside and easily stayed out of the Delivery Persons' way, but this Authoritarian fella was very adamant we were not let inside for 5 Minutes...Meanwhile outside, no matter where we stood, we had to keep stepping aside of the Delivery folks because they had trucks all over the Parking Lot. The Delivery Drivers were all very nice and also wondered why we weren't inside out of the cold and out of the way.

I don't understand the hype. Quiche: (3/5) - had way too much creamSalmon on toast: (2/5) - pickled onions were inedible, "toast" wasn't even toasted, overall hard to eat Dirty Chai: (3/5) - contains milk but this wasn't stated on the menuService: Order and pay at the counter, then find your own table.

This is my first time trying their pastries and it was pretty decent! I came on a Saturday around 10am and there was a short line; waited about 10 minutes to order. I tried their cinnamon bun, cardamom lattice bun, and coffee twist pastries. The cinnamon bun was pretty good and surprising not too sweet, however, the cinnamon bun would've tasted better if it came warm. I'd rate it 4/5. I thoroughly enjoyed the cardamom lattice bun, it came with cardamom cream in the center of the bun. I'd rate it 5/5. The coffee twist was tasty and sweet; it definitely paired well with a cup of coffee. I'd rate it. 4.5/5. I would come back here to try their other pastries/food. There's no seating and bathrooms inside.

Jane The Bakery is located in a small strip mall with a small parking lot. But since it is in the City, street parking is your only other choice. The bakery is geared towards a big long snaking line of people. Unfortunately, we arrived close to closing so they only had a few cookies left. Though, they did have their pre-packaged cookies for $13.I picked up a Crazy Cookie (3.5/5) - which has marshmallows, cornflakes, and chocolate chips. Crisp outside, a mix of crunchy and chewy inside because of the marshmallow and cornflakes with the creaminess of the chocolate chips.Unfortunately, we arrived around an hour before closing so most of their selections were sold out.The baker/cashier was friendly and nice. She answered a few questions that I had.Not sure they have a restroom for patrons.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this bakery. It had so many options. I got a raspberry danish with some kind of cream/ pudding? It was absolutely delightful. Workers and cashier were very kind and patient despite us being overwhelmed by all of the options!

I like bakeries where they make the goods in house! Jane the Bakery is their main site for their baked goods.Their French style pastries are good. They also make bread, sandwiches and other items. I got their coffee twist today. It is a German style pastry with coffee and some glaze on the outside. Not too sweet which is great! Tasty and will try again. There is parking at Jane on Geary Street too!

I was trying to kill time before queuing up at Aji Kiji, and always wanted to stop by this bakery, since I always pass by it when I drive through Geary to downtown. I got the Levain bread loaf, sausage croissant, and chocolate croissant. The Levain bread was great, high quality, and was a smaller loaf than Tartine (well, everything is, right?), but also only $10. It's still quite large too, and so I've enjoyed the bread for breakfast for several days now. I would get that again, if in the area and wanting a loaf. The Sausage croissant was recommended on Yelp, and my husband enjoyed it. I thought it tasted decent, but I didn't find it anything special. The chocolate croissant, I thought was pretty good, but nothing amazingly special (like how I feel eating an Arsicault pastry). Both croissants were $6 each, and although they were big, I don't know....seems like a premium considering they weren't amazing in my opinion. There was quite a bit of a line, kind of wish there were more people that were able to take your order and check you out. There was only one guy taking your order and packaging, then another cashier doing all the ringing up. It seemed to take a little bit more time for them to communicate to each other what you had ordered, vs. just having one employee work with you from beginning to end (I only think about this because I used to work at a bakery, and that's what we did, and it seemed very efficient). Everything was good here, nothing super amazing. I guess if you were really craving or needing something specific and you were in the area, I'd go here. But otherwise, pass.
