Scopes this place out based on their menu posted for Off the Grid fort mason. Can I get a round of applause for carrot tater tots please and thank you?? Way to go one step above and beyond in the tater tot game. The carrot tots were so flavorful- crispy texture on the outside and mushy carrot/potato flavor on the inside. Affordable price too. The portion was split between my sister and I but we were full just from sharing (and without any other food in our bellies)! I will definitely be back to Off the Grid fort mason to give Jackrabbit food truck some more love because those tots are just something I simply cannot live without. P.S. the line goes super fast at this stand so while your A16 pizza is well worth the 45 min wait, tots are ready in a flash so have some while you wait!

I was looking for food options at the Treasure Island flea market when I came across this truck with intriguing, but different options. In my humble opinion there eclectic menu kept people from giving it a try. Reason I say that is all the other trucks had people waiting in line while no one was waiting at this truck. I even heard a couple say let's keep walking as there is no line. Since the food options looked intriguing and yelp reviewers gave it a thumbs up, I decided to try it. Not only was the presentation and combination of sandwich and veggies enticing, the food tasted great! After all, life is about experiences and I am once again happy I ventured out.Don't judge a food truck by its wrap, try it and judge for yourself.

A new food truck entrant which sells tiny sliders but throws in a generous amount sides. I'd normally feel a little ripped off paying $14 just for a lamb slider and a small pulled pork taco, but somehow the sides made it seem like a hearty meal box. Lots of interesting flavors.Lamb Burger: Probably my favorite item. The lamb had a nice sear but also had a rare center. The creamy sauce on top was perfect.Pulled Pork Shoulder: A taco rather than a slider, filled with marinated pulled pork and some cabbage. The sauce seemed like just another homemade attempt at BBQ sauce; nothing too memorable.Rice and Lentil Salad: A very hearty free side. Served cold with a bit of vinegar tang and a strong herbal aroma (sage?). Not what I was expecting, but tasty.Tricolor Salad: Basically just a bunch of lettuce in a light vinaigrette. Sushi Rice Cakes w/ Black Garlic Aioli: Reminded me of unflavored arancini. But the creamy aioli helped make up for the lack of rice flavor. I really really liked the texture contrast of crispy exterior and sticky sushi rice inside.Lemon Lime Agua Fresca: I just couldn't bring myself to try the kale flavor, so went with the more basic lemon lime. I really liked it since it tasted more like a sugary juice box drink rather than a sour lemonade/limeade combo.

To be fair, catering food can be sometimes lacking, just given the amount of food that is being made, the time to transport, and the time sitting out. However, bits of unedible vegetable matter that I have to pick out the mushroom stuffing are not really ideal.Focaccia was also pretty normal, not a ton of flavor. I'd love to go in person for the carrot tater tots sometime though, those sound like they'd be a hit!

Was able to try this truck out at the outside lands festival. Ordered the lamb sliders and chilli tator tots. The lamb sliders were awesome. Juicy, flavorful, and filling. I would definitely get them again and they were one of my favorite things to eat at the festival. The tator tots were passable but okay. For the price I would not get them again. They are fairly large for tator tots, but it was more like mashed potato breaded and fried. The flavor was good but the texture was weird to me. All the crunch sides were perfect, but then your left with okay mashed potato. I would skip the chilli next time. It added to the mushiness/sogginess of the dish but did not add a lot of flavor.Five stars for the sliders and three stars for the tots.

Bottom line: Tasty. Good order flow. Price is normal for an SF food truck.Context: Food truck at Off the Grid: Presidio PicnicThey really seem to have their order flow down. While I stood in line, a staff member answered questions and wrote my order on a paper slip. I took the paper slip as I continued to stand in line, and he relayed my order to the cooks. When I reached the front of the line, I handed my slip to the cashier, who punched my order into the register. A display screen was outside, where I could see the items of the order. Then after the cashier swiped my credit card, I used the outside display to specify tip, sign, and enter my email address for receiving the receipt. By the time all of this was done, my food was ready, and the cashier handed it to me. They had even set up a little tent to cast shade for the people standing in line. All of these details may seem ancillary to food, but they add up to a more pleasant overall experience. As for the food, we enjoyed it! Got a mix-and-match pair of sliders: lamb slider and pulled pork taco. Both were small, but came with a side salad. Also got an order of Cheddar Scallion tots, which was really more fried mashed potato balls. I was okay with this, but I wonder if they might want to re-title this dish.

I have to admit, I sat on the curb while all my friends were waiting in line and ordering food on my behalf, so my only encounter with Jackrabbit is what they brought back for me. I can't judge on service or speed, just the food itself.I got the Famous Mac and Cheese while the truck was at the Treasure Island Flea Market (TreasureFest) this past weekend, and I was really happy with the dish. It was a great side to satisfy my hunger from walking up and down all the stalls of vintage finds without being overly filling. I think the bacon on top was perfectly crunchy, and the noodles a great chewy texture. While I liked the flavor of the cheese a lot, my only issue would be that it was a bit watery and not as creamy as I would have liked it to be. That might just be a personal preference issue, though, so no knocks against the food in any way.Overall I loved the mac and cheese and wouldn't turn it down if I had the chance to have it again!

We were at Off The Grid and the first thing we saw on the menu at Jackrabbit was mac and cheese for $5. I love Mac and cheese so we had to try it. There was an extra charge for the bacon and green onions we added. They had another option that you could add on but I forget what it was. This dish definitely satisfied any craving I had for Mac and cheese. It had the right amount of cheesy sauciness. I would definitely come back again for the mac and cheese and for about $5 the price isn't bad at all.
