I popped in for a drink and I read at the bar, which wasn't the vibe but I did it anyway. It's a grungy dive bar and I felt a little out of place but no one seemed to mind and everyone was nice and down to earth. Seems like a good place to party with a crew or to play pool

Definitely the most down to earth bar in Marina! Staff was super friendly. Popped in for happy hour and loved that there were so many dogs hanging around! The prices were reasonable. Clientele was friendly. Not what you would expect for the awful neighborhood. This is going to be my new after work spot for sure.

We love this place! My partner and I discovered it when we were checking out the city to see if we would move here. Over 2.5 years later, we live in the city, and The Shoe is one of our favorite spots for dive-bar-meets-sports-bar vibes. Their drinks are cheap (for the neighborhood), the pours are generous, and all the bartenders make you feel at home. We love this spot so much we did a photo shoot for my cousin's engagement here!! Come by early in the day for a bloody, midday for a beer, or at night for a game of pool and plenty of shots. Highly recommended!!

Good dive bar for groups or hanging out at the bar. Pool tables in the back & bartenders are always friendly.They don't serve food but they share a wall with a Mexican joint & Pacific Catch + United Dumplings across the way.

Christmas time in chestnut marina is about two bars open on Christmas ..this bar has two pool tables it's $2 for one game pay with one dollar bills nickname Cody played pool with me..we played with some other groups ..playing billiards after dinner on Christmas was a pretty fun time ..photo booth ..sprite with cherry here's to dad Christmas

I've been stopping in "The Shoe" for pool the past few weeks. The single bar table is $1 in quarters. The cues are a bit warped, but so is my game lately. Haha!I'm still a non drinker yet Jake and Miranda always are gracious to pour me a club soda or a virgin rum and coke. A nice neighborhood spot!

Horseshoe tavern is the best consistently good local bar. Ever questioning what over-priced Marina happy hour you want to go to? Just hit up the The Shoe instead, best place for when indecision really hits. Fantastic bar, also very dog friendly huge plus. 5 stars

They call it the non-Marina, Marina bar- for a reason. It feels as warm and down-home as you'll get in SF. Solid, strong drinks and a great crowd!

Solid "locals" bar in the Marina. Friendly bartenders, cute little parklet, great tunes, and a decent selection of beers on draft. Beers were $7 each, but it's the Marina, so it was expected. There's a really cool mural above the bar, didn't get a picture but that alone is worth a stop to Horseshoe. Showed up at 6pm on a Tuesday night, and didn't have any trouble getting a table.

Hands down the best bar in SF. Conveniently located in SFs most beautiful, albeit douchey, neighborhood, the Marina. This is a local gem. Divey as a Spivey and effectively repulses naive Marina girls looking for an overpriced "bees knees." $10 for a shot and a beer? Is this heaven (in SF)? Perhaps. Does it feel like you're on the south shore of Long Island (not the douchey towns)? Yes. Take me home Horseshoe and keep being true to yourself. The best god damn bar in San Francisco. And has a jukebox which is nice
