The food and service here are great. It was a bit chilly the days we were in SF. This place leaves its doors open for diners to come and go with ease. Sitting near the door on chilly days is not recommended. However, it was the last table that was still inside and we opted to not wait for one deeper into the restaurant to vacate so we sat at the table right next to the doorway. It was a bit nippy. I believe they leave it open bc they have outdoor seating at well and it would feel awkward to shut the door to the patrons outside. The food was sooo good. Their attention to detail in how they plate their yummy food is wonderful. I appreciate the fruit that came with our meals. It was a refreshing finish to a hearty meal. I have a deep love for breakfast foods. Everything on my plate was perfect. Fluffy eggs. The sausage patties are probably the best I have ever had anywhere. Toast was great with their offerings of spreads. And their Hash was fried to a nice crisp. The microgreens on the Benedict made it so much more exquisite to look at. It was great that this place was right across the street of our hotel. Next time I'm in SF, I will definitely be back.

Solid cafe!! I was looking for a nearby place with breakfast and I'm glad this place popped up on my search. The food was well made. Presentation was still nice, but the food was no-frills which I appreciate. I tried the Florentine Benedict and a French Toast. I didn't have any complaints with either. Usually I can't stand soggy french toast or french toast with a thick bread like brioche, so I was happy they had this normal/thinner type of french toast here. Delicious crispy hash browns. The place is not spacious, but it is still very comfortable. Service was great and the servers were attentive. The restroom is quite a trek though.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn at Fisherman's Warf and didn't want their free breakfast so we went to Yelp to see what was around the neighborhood and of course, had good reviews and Hollywood Cafe came up. It's literally next door and only was a few steps away from the hotel. It was an older establishment and had the old school cafe feel. The service was good and they were friendly. The breakfast was a little pricey but it is San Francisco so I can understand that. We ordered Bloody Mary's, two egg breakfast with hasbrowns and the Eggs Benedict. The drinks were very good and had a cute presentation and the breakfast was a good portion size and was delicious and filling!

Been dining here for years when I visit, friendly services and great food! Get there early because they get busy. Outside seating is available... Hash Browns are the best!

Solid spot with indoor and outdoor seating. This place has a pretty decent menu if you like omelettes or regular breakfast, pancakes, or French toast, you name it. The service is friendly and super fast. I promise you once you order you turn around they give you your order right away. And this is on New Year's Day when it was pretty busy. The hot chocolate was good, which my kids enjoyed. The prices are also very reasonable. The walls are plastered with holiday decorations, as well as pictures of a bunch of famous people, which makes the ambience different and cool. Hollywood Café is walking distance from the wharf.

I had BAT - 3 eggs scrambled with bacon, avocado, tomato and cheddar. It was very very good. The hash browns were super. They were toasted well on one side and very thin.My husband had a club: BLT loaded with roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, on whole wheat bread. French fries were excellent. French fries were super crunch. There were some strawberries in our meals and some of the best I've tasted. There is no gf menu or marked on menu but they were very nice and accommodating. When I ordered the waiter said, "Gluten free right - no toast" potatoes were fine. So evidently they take good care because I ordered from a different person that I was discussing my options with before we sat down.Nice and friendly, small and homey. We liked everything and after we ate, although items were about $20 each it was worth it.

We got seated quickly on New Year's Day, which was a nice start. The food was fine--nothing particularly memorable, just standard diner-style breakfasts at a higher price. But hey, it's SF and right near Fisherman's Wharf, so that's pretty much what you'd expect.

Delicious! This was our first time to Hollywood Cafe. Our hotel was down the street and we wanted something close by within walking distance and reasonably priced. The service was excellent from start to finish. Warmly greeted. Seated quickly. Served quickly. The food was fresh, hot and delicious. I had the Vivian Leigh plate which was a croissant with scrambled egg that had bacon and cheddar cheese in it. The croissant was fresh, soft and buttery, pairing well with the scrambled egg, bacon and cheese. It is served with a very generous side of fruit. The fruit was fresh, juicy and an assortment of pineapple, strawberries, bananas, blueberries, blackberries, red apple and oranges. This plate is definitely a shareable size as the portions are very generous. You get a lot of food, quality, for such a great price. The cafe is quaint with photos of old Hollywood; Marilyn Monroe, Vivian Leigh, Clark Gable, Charlie Chaplin, etc. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating. It was busy. Full house. Great way to start your day. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back next time we are in San Fran. Bon appétit!

Went on a Sunday morning shortly after opening with friends. There was a short maybe 15 min wait but it moved quickly. The portions are large even with the breakfast sandwiches we saw go by our table. My partner and I shared a Crab Benedict, one friend got what was called chiliquilles but was dry chips thrown atop an egg and avocado blob. Don't recall what the other friend had. The mochas two of us ordered were fine but nothing standout. The benedict was good. Pup friendly outside.
