The sushi is not of the highest quality but it is reasonably priced and convenient. The overall environment is niceI got the bluefin tuna and it tasted pretty good, probably because of the priceThey also sell some hot food like eel rice bowl and miso soup which tasted really good and the service was friendly, it's basically a place where you can eat whatever you want

As you can see in my profile, I truly hate to post a bad review. This is strictly a review on the raw fish assortment we had yesterday. I feel lucky to not have gotten sick and don't want anyone to. The fish looks wonderful in many of the posted photos, however our combo platter just did not taste fresh at all. It had ahi, tako, hamachi, tamago, tai, ebi. Most notable for poor quality was the hamachi and ahi - teetering on fishy smelling and just plain not fresh. The only tasty part was the tamago - that just ain't right.

Cute little Japanese market mainly focused on sashimi and sushi boxes, as well as selling some fresh seafood. Prices were pretty reasonable for a box of sushi -- my husband got a box of tuna rolls (about 12 pieces) for $10. He said the rice wasn't very good and the tuna was a little fish -- so not the freshest -- but overall for the price it was pretty satisfactory.Additionally there are a lot of snacks and drinks throughout the market, as well as some regular Japanese ingredients for cooking like dashi, mirin...etc.It's a pretty solid convenience store if you want to grab some snacks, specialty Japanese cooking items (they had wasabi graters and real wasabi!), or some reasonably-priced and mid-quality sushi.

Heard great things about this place so had to check it out! This place is kinda pricey but the sushi is so fresh and delicious. Went with the spicy tuna roll, poke roll, spam musubi, sashimi roll and sashimi platter. The spicy tuna roll was my favorite but were all amazing. The selection here is fire. They have beignets coming too. They weren't sure which date but something to look forward too. Def coming back!!

Hokkaido Sashimi Marketplace sells ready made sushi, sashimi, hot food, sushi grade fishes, snacks and condiments. Did I miss anything? Probably. We tried their sushi and sashimi previously and it was pretty good. Service friendly. Ambiance is what you would expect in a fish and convenience store combo market.Located on Geary between 18th & 19th Ave.

Finally got around to visiting this cute new neighborhood Japanese grocery store:) Visited around 3pm on a Holiday and foot traffic was heavy.Pantry staples galore available along with sake and ready to eat food. There are even wasabi graters and real wasabi for sale.Once you make it to the cashier counter, you're greeted by an assortment of onigiri. Offered on my visit were Sukiyaki Beef and Chicken onigiri. Will definitely try if I ever see an onigiri with mentaiko:)On this visit, my siblings and I purchased an assortment of goods to enjoy together during our quality time catching up. We tried the Rock N Roll Sushi, Chu Toro Sashimi, Tako Sashimi, Inari Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon Roll, and Takoyaki. My favorite of the bunch was definitely the Rock N Roll Sushi. Had I purchased a pack of Shiso leaves as well, the Chu Toro Sashimi would be my favorite.I also picked up sake kama (salmon collar) to cook at home. :) Collar is my favoriteeeee. Hehe definitely check Hokkaido Sashimi out if you're in the area. Great picnic option.

Good quality and affordable. What more could you ask for! They had a lot of options for sashimi and rolls that were perfect for takeout. They had lots of options for snacks too which is perfect for a picnic at the park nearby. If you're looking to have your own sushi night at home this is a great place to check out!

Needed some quality New Year's sashimi and was not disappointed from this spread. They have preset sashimi platters but I ended up customizing my own: 1/2 lb salmon, ¼ lb each of kanpachi, maguro, hamachi, chutoro, and otoro. Picture has ikura that I bought elsewhere but you could also get that from them as well. Altogether for a little over 1.75 lbs it was $90. Not cheap but definitely worth it. Growing up in Hawaii, new year's sashimi is a tradition I hold near and dear to my heart, so I'm glad that I have a go to place in the city. Not pictured is their negitoro sushi and spicy tuna inari which were both amazing as well. Definitely coming back whenever I need a meal or quick snack before heading to Golden Gate Park. I also love there it's a mini Japanese market! You can get any last minute groceries or pantry items here as well, along with some hot foods.

Came to check out Hokkaido marketplace as I was in the neighborhood and ended up picking up a pack of chutoro to go. This grocery store specializes in take-out sushi and sashimi with a nice selection of snack, desserts, and spices/condiments as well. The chutoro was relatively well-priced and after reading some mixed reviews on the rice, I ended up getting the sashimi rather than the sushi. The chutoro was nice and fatty but had a bit of a fishy smell which is why I took a star off.
