Came here for lunch. Gourmet Village was about 50% full, and we got a table immediately. We ordered the fried intestines (9/10), sticky rice fried rice (9/10), fermented bean curd ong choy (9/10), half chicken (10/10), and fish with sweet corn sauce (9/10). Everything came quickly, and portions were generous. The half chicken was super tender, well flavored, and moist. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. Our server proactively brought us extra bowls, utensils, and napkins. We were seated comfortably at a booth, and it wasn't too loud or chaotic inside. Will definitely be back to try more of their menu, including their lunch specials!

I have ordered lunch and dinner from here a few times. Lunch was Hot and Sour soup. I was asked small or large. Fretting that small would be a pint, I ordered a large. A large order is two quarts of soup. I literally wasted a quart because it was not hot nor sour. Really bland.Lunch specials do not exist here and I have walked down the street for one. Another disastrous review.Ordering dinner in a pinch- was four specific dishes to-go. Whatever happened to feeding your family for $35? The prices on their menu are astronomical!!! Not even potstickers or some kind of soup included. My fried rice, chow fun and broccoli beef were full and delicious- but way overpriced. I placed my order and picked it up after 20 minutes. The person who took my order was pleasant. The restaurant was empty.

465 Broadway AveMillbrae, CA 94030Gourmet Village is an old school, family style Chinese restaurant. It has a wide variety of items on it's menu. Prices are fair to pricey for what you get. Table setting is bare to basic. If you need something, you have to ask for it. After visiting family in the hospital, I went to Millbrae's Broadway Ave to grab a meal before heading home. I decided to try Gourmet Village because they have Claypot entrees on their menu. This restaurant is cool because they have booths as well as tables. Server brought tea and a menu. They were busy with a takeout customers, so I had to wait a bit. I ordered:- Braised Chicken Tofu w/ Salted Fish Claypot- Hot 'n Sour Soup, Small- Side of Steamed Rice (equal to 2 bowls) The food was good, the flavors and portion sizes were okay. The Hot 'n Sour Soup for $6.95, could serve 2-3 people. The bowls provided are a bit small. The Chicken Tofu w/ Salted Fish Claypot was perfect for a cool evening. This dish is one my favorite chinese comfort foods. The clay vessel retains the heat, and keeps the food warm for awhile. Maybe Salted Fish Chicken Tofu isn't for everyone, but if you like it.....you love it. I have it over steamed white rice in a small rice bowl. I will definitely return and try other claypots.Total w/out Tip= $25.65

I am not impressive with this place at all. Super downgraded family - style restaurant. They need to reorganize their to-go boxes which it's too presentable to the dinners here . Totally not recommended this place to those want to have a pleasant meal experience .

We brought in a fresh 3-lb lobster and catfish from 99 Ranch Market for the chef to prepare. He added longevity (ee mein) noodles to the lobster, and upon request, tofu in black bean sauce and spring onions to the catfish for $45. Great deal! Both dishes were delicious and wonderfully prepared. We also ordered the Hong Kong style sweet and sour pork ribs with green peppers, pineapple and onions plus pea sprouts (always a favorite). Only one server for the entire restaurant. I took off one point because of ambiance. The light fixtures were dirty and needed to be cleaned. Some light bulbs were burned out and needed to be replaced. Street parking. Overall, my family decided this is a restaurant we will patronize in this manner again!

Terrific service - fast and attentive. Food is pretty solid. Good choices on the menu from standard American style Chinese food to some spaghetti dishes. They could add more servings to each dish, but pretty minor and nit-picky. A lot of restaurant choices in the area, so this place is a really good choice.

We ordered multiple dishes and honestly some of them were way too salty. Some of the dishes included the green beans and chow mein. Also, the black bean clams barely had any clam meat. More shell, less meat.Overall, I wouldn't come back here. I was disappointed because the Chefs probably didn't taste anything before they sent it out.TL;DR: Certain dishes were too salty. If I wanted to eat authentic Chinese food I'd just stay at home LOL.

It was relatively empty on my visit--no more than 3-4 small tables occupied and it was well after the lunch crowd. I walked in and waited for what seemed to be a long time before anymore came out and I wasn't able to get anyone's attention. I was finally seated and given tea, but no menu was given to me and I had to wait to get anyone's attention to get a menu. You figure once seated, you would automatically get a menu! I didn't bother looking at the menu closely and only focused on they Hong Kong style lunch offerings. I was craving and initially ordered the Portuguese baked chicken, but she said they don't have it at this time. I just ordered what came to mind, without looking at the menu and got the baked pork chop.My order came out relatively quickly and it was a fairly large serving. The flavor was good; the dish was smothered in tomato sauce with 2 medium sized pork chops, albeit a bit fatty and served on a bed of rice. Overall the dish was acceptable, but the service was lacking.

This restaurant has about 5 large banquet tables. If you have a large party and did not plan ahead, you are in luck. Finding seats here would be easy. The place has a steady stream of customers, but not too busy even on weekends. Menu is extensive. Food is on the salty side. Ask for less salt if you're watching sodium intake.

Don't get turned off by the three star review. The food here is good and the pricing is good. It's a HK style cafe so if you are expecting good service then you are at the wrong place. It's like expecting attentive service at McDonalds.I get take out here regularly after I gave this place a chance. The chicken wings and the HK style pan fried noodles are both great and are things I get on a regular basis.
