Redemption Song---Bob MarleyLast time me and my beloved went to Golden Era we didn't have a good experience. I had previously gone there heaps over the years. It was time to give Golden Era a second chance after they dropped the ball on service previously maybe two years since we went there.They were on their A game. Service was on point. Atmosphere was just fine. We both loved seeing so many folks enjoying all vegan meals. Ahimsa.We ordered the Mushu Rolls as a starter. Four of them and recommended for tasty goodness rolled up in a parantha with avocado and vegan mayo with veggies.For our main we split the Spicy Sweet Potato Curry subbing tofu for the faux meat. Sweet curry with a bit of heat. Tasty and ample portions. We had this with brown rice.We were going to get another dish yet this was plenty for us.We saved room for dessert getting a coconut banana dessert that hit the spot in healthy goodness. Friendly service. All vegan goodness. Ample portions. Golden Era returns to our favorite spots to frequent in San Francisco once again. I came here with a vegan friend but left pleasantly surprised by how flavorful everything was. I was initially skeptical when I heard this was a vegan Vietnamese restaurant but the restaurant was fairly busy on a Saturday night despite closing early at 7:30pm.We got the mushu rolls, spicy noodle soup, and house rice claypot to share and everything was really yummy. Starting with the mushu rolls, veggie rolls with avocado wrapped in paratha, this tasted almost like a caesar wrap in paratha - super yummy and pretty filling for an appetizer. The spicy noodle soup and claypot rice both had great flavor with the noodle soup reminding me of a vegan bun bo hue. Great all-around vegan option with plenty of options if you're craving Asian food.

Wonton Soup - Delicious and simple.Lemongrass - Tasty but not as crispySweet Orange - sauce was not cooked, watery, protein did not make for a good pairing. It was more batter than protein.Service: Started off good and respectful and prompt and after my complaint about the sweet orange became sour. It was a packed house so the food will not be as great. I get it. My sweet orange was just not it. One of the lady, who handled our complaint, told us that if this happens again they wont refund for a meal that we did not like or thought was not made properly. This was my first complaint here after many visits so found that a bit rash for a complaint about food at a food spot. Im sure they've received before.Ive been here many a time and had no issues but today is going to be my last visit after the food quality and the service. Unbelievable!

Met my daughter for lunch. She's vegan, so I chose Golden Era. I've had vegan dishes but never a meal. I loved it! Everything was flavorful & delicious. Spring rolls 4outta5 very tasty but I have to admit, I always struggle when they aren't fried. Very good thoSpicy Thai rice 5outta5 very flavorful, I could've had the plate to myself. Lemongrass Deluxe 5outta5 Delicious! I couldn't get enough. The spicy gourmet lemongrass soy "chicken" was unbelievable. It hit on all cylinders. I'll definitely be trying other vegan spots! Excellent, attentive service in a very chill atmosphere.

Omg I would give 10 stars if I could! Once in a while, I would give up meats and this place makes it easier for me! This time I tried Pho and it was amazing! The broth was so tasty. I only ordered Togo from this place but it didn't disappoint me at all!

My vegan friend and I came here early before the Hamilton play and it wasn't crowded at all. The place seemed very clean, nice and quiet with lots of Togo food drivers coming in and out to pick up Togo orders. Anyhow, we were seated right away in one of the booths, tucked in the side of the restaurant. Honestly, if we had more time, I could see us hanging out and enjoying our food and coffee for a while- catching up on life but the show must go on so we had a time limit. It was a cold evening so each of us started out our meal with a hot Vietnamese coffee. I'm Vietnamese so I love me some Vietnamese coffee, iced or hot, and this one was no exception. It was perfect and hit the spot. Highly recommend it for the coffee lovers.Our meal continued on with our birds nest noodles, a spicy Asian stew, and the spicy lemongrass entrees. They were all very flavorful and scrumptious!! I kept on wanting to eat more of everything. I love how the birds nest noodles are crispy and soggy with the gravy and toppings. The spicy stew was not spicy but that's okay, it was flavorful and good on a cold night. Best to be eaten with rice or baguette because it's a vegan beef stew flavor. As for the spicy lemongrass entree, it was my favorite and that's saying a lot because I liked them all but it's like eating fried chicken, it's delicious. I love me some fried chicken with lemongrass flavors. I hope I get to visit the city again and enjoy Golden Era soon.

I would give it a 4.5 stars. The food was excellent. We ordered non fried autumn rolls and pad Thai. Service was good and ambience too.. ended with vegan cheesecake which was great too!

My colleague orders these vegan avocado rolls to our work pot lucks and I've been obsessed with them! They have an extensive menu on everything vegan from rolls, salads, soups, noodles, rice plates, clay pots etc. It's healthy Asian vegan food, what's not to love! I ordered the mushu rolls today which comes with raw cabbage, carrot, avocado, & soy protein wrapped w/ paratha. Soo good, Golden era will be a staple in my book, can't wait to try more dishes from them!

So I did come back, true to my word, and this time I came with another foody. I'm happy to report everything we ate was memorably fantastic!Spring rolls appetizer were bite-sized went well with the house-made peanut sauce.Cauliflower special (Sp5) was plenty and each piece of cauliflower was mindfully battered and fried. The generous helping of scallions and jalapenos gave it a nice kick.Our favorite was the Sp6, the mushroom dish, the lemongrass turmeric base of it was sumptuous and we couldn't get enough of it. We took it home and mixed it with some leftover rice and quinoa, it was just as good the next day. We've found our new favorite restaurant in the city hall area!
