The gelato was AMAZING. The service was good, and the location is cute. I've been there over 7 times and it's always amazing, 5 stars!! My favorite gelato there is the Piedmont Hazelnut, and we'll always be!! I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for the best gelato ever!

This is the best ice cream/gelato I've ever had. That needs to be stated first, so if you read nothing else, you can read that. They have a wide selection of vegan flavors, which is convenient being right across the street from a fantastic vegan restaurant. The vegan flavors were incredibly creamy and flavorful, which is seemingly hard to do. Most fruit flavors are icy or chalky even, so for the vegan flavors to be creamier than most regular ice creams I've had in the past I was blown away. They also have a vast range of non vegan flavors. Among them, milk and fig is an absolute must. We ended up going with a scoop of vegan strawberry in one cup, and a scoop of milk and fig in another. It was a delicious combo that worked well with the freshness. My boyfriend even stated "I don't even know if Italy could top that". So needless to say, if you're in the area, you have to check it out! We found out they have a San Ramon location and hope to try them out soon.

Best decision I made was passing on dessert at Wildseed and venturing right next door to Gio. The moment I sampled the black sesame gelato, I knew I'd found my ice cream soulmate. It was lusciously creamy, nutty, with a slight saltiness that was just perfect.$6 for a kids cup isn't cheap but they pack it full, and since gelato has less air than ice cream, it's worth it.

Wow. This spot has really exceeded my expectations. The fact that I almost didn't come because I was super full from dinner.. thank god I sucked it up and ended up going. There was a young gentleman running the whole shop from offering samples, serving, and running the cash register. He definitely deserves a lot of recognition. Despite how busy it was, he was super patient and friendly. We ended up choosing the passionfruit sorbet and the pistachio. Both really took me by surprise. It tasted exactly like what you would expect passionfruit and pistachio to taste like. Nothing artificial. The passionfruit was perfectly tart. You keep wanting more after every bite. I also sampled the cappuccino gelato and it was one of the best ones I've had. Nothing but positive things to say!! Highly recommend! 12.28.2024 | Saturday @ 7:45pm

Such a cute little gelato shop! Great location for vegans given its right next to Wildseed. I'm not vegan myself, but I really liked the gelato anyways and I think everyone would enjoy it. I specifically recommend the pistachio flavor

The service was great and we got a great recommendation looking for something fruity and fresh. Ordered the vegan Valencia orange and vegan raspberry flavors. The orange flavor was bright and gelato was perfectly creamy. The raspberry had fresh berry flavor though it did have seeds so it wasn't as smooth but I didn't mind at all. Both flavors were delicious and I will be by again when I'm back in The area.

Seemed like a cute spot for a sweet treat on Union, so we stopped by to grab some gelato. I've never been to the San Ramon location, so this was a new gelato place for me!$6 for the kid's scoop in a cup, one flavor. $4.50 if you get a baby cone. Portions were alright.Chocolate (3/5) - Would probably opt for another flavor. Tiramisu looked good.Vegan Mango (4/5) - Consistency was good, sorbet-y, and not crazy sweet. Better than the chocolate.I did not particularly enjoy the inside ambience. It was weirdly warm inside for a gelato place, and it was probably nicer outside temperature-wise. There were also lots of flies that bugged us, so we left quickly. The gelato itself was not bad, but you'd be better off walking around outside to enjoy your sweet treat.

With so many great restaurants in the Marina District, this is THE place to go after a meal for a yummy gelato dessert!Flavors range from fruity (passionfruit, cantaloupe, mango) to nutty (hazelnut, pistachio) to chocolatey (tiramisu) for everybody's tastebuds. Try a taster here and the server's patient. Cute little corner shop with clean restrooms.

A very cute gelato spot on a central corner of Union St in the Marina! The staff is really friendly and conversational, and you can free sample. I like the Straciatella and Pistachio, and they have some interesting flavors like milk and fig. The flavors are pretty rich and not the worst rip-off in the city for gelato. Like to stop by here after a good workout or sunny day!

I wanted to grab dessert to take over to a friend who was hosting for dinner. Gio Gelati was the closest spot and I was crunched on time. I ended up buying the gelato takeout tray that cost about $26 and allowed for two separate flavors. Given how big it was, I feel like there definitely could have been room for more than just 2 flavor combinations. The gelato itself was good, but not great. The flavors were fun and I enjoyed the tiramisu, but it was a little icy. Overall, a spot I'd stop into if I were in the area, but wouldn't make an additional stop from far away.
